The Removals

I have used this company recently to move flats. That day was hectic! I had to finalise the paperwork with the agency, get the keys from the flat, then move out the same day. It was all about the timing and thanks to The Removals, we got it right. Will surely use their services in the future.

NO GOOD! We found this very respectable looking company on the internet and
engaged their services for a rather simple move, one borough to the
next. Service was prompt and cheery, until the actual move. Materials were not professionally packaged and items were not moved with great care, as promised.
Overall,
we received a terrible service. Unprofessional, rude and careless. The
follow up care to report broken and damaged items was appauling. Speed
was the essence of the job and despite concerns being aired during the
move these were ignored and dealt with very rudely. Insurance was a
farce. Do not use this company. We are still regretting it. I
am also quite convinced that at least 2 of the nice things that have
been said about them on this website are written by the company
themselves. Not only registered at the same time but I would also
recognise that bad english and short curt style anywhere. Ive been
dealing with it for for sometime now as they continue to ignore my requests!

Not impressed, they arrived over 3 hours late on their packing day with little, if any excuse or warning. The following day, due to a massive screwup by our solicitors our completion time was delayed til almost 3pm. We warned the Removals guys about this just after we found out about 11am; no problem they said, we’ll wait. As we got more frantic due to lack of information from our lawyers, we kept ringing the removal guys to keep them informed and ask them if the continuing delay was ok. No problem they said. At this point I have to point out that we thought that we had paid for an all inclusive /​how ever long it takes removal package. Eventually we started the move; at this point the removal men decided that they hadn’t been paid for what they’d done and downed tools and refused to unpack /​move our furniture demanding a further £650. I was in our (about to be) new house and my wife was in our (soon to be) old house. They used their power in an aggressive manner and there was an underlying feeling that if we didn’t pay more money there would be problems.
There was no negotiation with either the removal men or their manager by telephone and we had to finally pay this cost nearly double what we had originally quoated. It was stressful, unpleasant and my wife felt threatened into signing a piece of paper saying we ‘had no complaints with the service’. they moved the furniture fast once we had paid the extra money but damaged a table, wardrobe and filing cabinet.
Formal complaint was made following week and whilst we got a response they did not actually acknowledge anything that we were complaining about.
I would not recommend this company to anyone.
