Super cheap, just had a delicious wild mushroom soup + baguette for 2.50. You can easily beat the 3 pound meal deal here(minus soft drink and crisps, but a hot and more balanced meal). Great for lunch!

In Farringdon you are spoilt for choice when it comes to lunch time. There are a host of fab classy restaurants, organic cafés and fabulous greasy spoons. The Slice Of Life is a fab lunch spot. Wonderful selection of sandwiches, a hot special of the day, jacket potatoes the size of your head and boxes of salad. I cam here for a comforting tattie and was super happy with my £3.50 lunch. What great value for money! Seriously, don’t over look this über basic yet wonderful take out place.

This little café style shop is one of the many places to grab a bite to eat in Barbican and, considering the choices available, I would say that you might be better off looking somewhere else. This place sells full English breakfasts — a commendable bit of munch, but where can you eat it? I was able to count the overall seats on my fingers. Three inside, four outside. Three tables. There’s an awning for the outside seats but in particularly rainy or windy conditions, you’re not interested in eating there are you? Alot of fridge choices — fruit salads, pasta, pork pies etc. So for that purpose, you’re spoilt for choice! Take the container salad and hit the road, cause sitting down might be a bit difficult.
