I would recommend anywhere over this place. We ordered prosciutto and melon. We got thin cut cheap American ham with melon. The spaghetti noodles were low quality, soggy. The bill at the table next to us had items not ordered, nice try. The wine was drinkable. That was the only good thing. Three stars is generous.

When we first moved to the area we used to eat here quite alot as the manager always remembered us and the food was good — small family run place but the last few times we have been the quality of the food had really gone down hill and we took alot of business there so I am afraid to say we wont be visiting again.

Seriously fine no frills Italian food. Kind of what your grandmother wanted. You could imagine Sinatra went here. Why did I go here? It was open on a Sunday. Unlike *everything* around it, and I was in the neighbourhood. Top tips: The meatballs are fantastic. I dunno where they go(in JANUARY) for their Asparagus, but it does not taste like damp card. Plates of pasta under £10. The house wine is fine, plenty fine. The garlic bread is more garlic than bread. This place is too too lovely.

Food is no-frills Italian fare, served up with a warm smile and hot from the kitchen located at the heart of this small restaurant where you can watch your server running in and out and helping to happily prepare your food. The minute I walked through the door, I had a feeling of familiarity and comfort like going to a place where they know you and treat you like family. And with that family environment in mind, this place does not worry about primping their food or table setting — There are no trendy spins on recipes, no hip interior décor or polished wait staff — This is simple, honest Italian food and friendly service. What I tried: Insalata Tricolore, Bruchetta, Garlic Bread, Spaghetti Bolognese, Lasagna Della Casa(my husband ordered the lasagna and I had a bite — wowie I’d order this next time!) and a couple bottles of Chianti. I can’t say this is the best Italian food I’ve ever had, but it’s one of the best food experiences in London for a taste from Nonni’s kitchen(or Nonno/Pappi in this case, since there are only blokes running the place from what I could see). Go and enjoy — Buon appetito!

we ate here out of desperation; it was 10.30 and it was open. the guys outside were speaking Italian; we thought it’d be alright. of the 4 dishes we had(pizza 4 stagione, fettucine al pesto, ravioli with spinach and ricotta, spaghetti alle vongole), all were equally tired and tasteless. bleah!

Wow. I went in skeptical but left convinced. The fact that your order taker goes into the kitchen and fixes your meal is AMAZING. You like mushrooms, ask! You like spinach, ask! Everything an be special ordered and the local crowd is particularly pleasant!

Love, love, love Trattoria Montebianco. I love the cosy Italian atmosphere with two grizzly looking men running the show. I loved it so much that I went back twice in a week! The food is delicious and non-pretentious. It feels like your grandmother or mother just came out of the kitchen and made your a delicious Sunday meal. The place is small but extremely welcoming. The customers look like regulars and all walk away nodding with approval. I’m thrilled that I live close enough to Trattoria Montebianco to eat here regularly(although this is going to wreak havoc on my waistline). Verdict: Must try!

After a long day of conference and long trip in an out of city, I was in the mood for good comfort food to end the day. Unfortunately none of the area pubs had food after 21:00(kitchen closed!!), so I had to quickly improvise or I’d be cranky monster from Godzilla island. All the reviews on Unilocal were Right on. My pasta was far more perfect than any pasta I had in NY. These older gents know what they are doing. And love the fact that they didn’t give me any hard time when I showed up at 22:15 for a dinner! Some broken English and gentle smile made my day… really. It’s on very deserted street after dark but it’s safe. Also, sit outside and look up the sky, the tower is right in front of your face. I thought the atmosphere was great and food was excellent. What more can I ask for?!

If you had to eat only one type of food for the rest of your life — French or Italian — which would it be? If you are tempted to say French, eat at Trattoria Montebianco before locking in that response. You will commit to eating Italian forever. I chose this place based on Laura and Stephy’s reviews and they were right: this could be the best kept Italian secret in the city. Totally unpretentious and run by a group of older Italian gentlemen, this place is perfect. I ate the best plate of seafood spaghetti; I’m still dreaming of the sauce, whatever it was. Oh wait, I do know: it was incredible. I’m definitely a fan.

This is my first London«I shouldn’t Unilocal about this but …» establishment. It is so authentic, so delicious, so private, and just such a fantastic hidden gem that I really want to keep it all to myself and my dreams. But alas, I’m a self-admitted Unilocal addict and absolutely must share the good word.(Plus, I promised Roberto that I would write about him on my «emailing internet blogger,» as he so scientifically put it.) Nestled in a corner in Fitzrovia, Trattoria Montebianco is the real deal. After walking past a few times in early November, I noticed a certain staff member entertaining the full restaurant of no more than 15 guests and decided that I must get in on that action. Good service in London isn’t exactly easy to come by, and if good food was involved, I may have found my new fave. Let’s just say that«good food» is the understatement of the century. It’s not fancy, so plan on checking your pretense at the door — it’s just delicious Italian favourites presented in a warm and welcoming environment. Roberto the owner instantly treats you as family and you won’t be able to escape without a full stomach of down-home Italian cooking an empty bottle of wine. What part of that doesn’t scream perfection?

Oh how it thrills me to no end to be the first to review one of the greatest restaurants in all of London. Gasp! You might be saying to yourselves right now. How on Earth could this be?! With all of the culinary greatness that abounds in this fine city, how could a little hole in the wall on Cleveland Street be the best around? Well, it just is. We first discovered this place while strolling around our neighborhood on a chilly London night. It looked charming and inviting from the outside and as we walked around the corner towards the main window we saw happy, smiling, laughing, wine glass toasting people and made a mental note. A few nights later, we decided to try this little place and history was made. On the menu pages of Trattoria Montebianco lie classic Italian dishes. Some you’ve heard of like Spaghetti with Meatballs or Pasta Arabbiata or even the Lasagna Della Casa, but they taste like no traditional dish you’ve ever had. Oh no, there is love in these recipes and it truly shows. Roberto, the owner, makes you feel like a friend on your first visit and family on the next. A double kiss to the cheeks is tradition and a bountiful meal of yumminess is standard issue. In the few weeks that I have been in London, we’ve managed to come here at least once a week and I really can’t rave enough about this place. Even as I sit here writing this review, my roasted lamb special is chiming in with glee. This is what food should be. This is what service should be. And this will always be my favorite little slice of Italia in London.
