Such a bad experience… Noisy and cold environment! Hot dishes were cold and there was almost no sushi on the conveyor belt! Thank, but no thanks… Waitress was very friendly though!

Who is able to resist the cute little monorail with the adorable animé-bubbles of sushi swishing by at all the Yo Sushi outlets? The bright colored little plates are so enticing! But then… It is hit or miss depending on which Yo you hit. Cleanliness, service, and quality of preparation vary enormously by location. I’ve been happier at Brunswick square and the fun outdoor scene along south embankment but others including paddington are pretty mediocre. Paddington’s Yo is pretty dirty – filthy soy sauce dishes and those cute little plates have both old and new food dripping off their sides. No fizzy water and rather desiccated semi raw fish zipping around this little squeaky train track. Ok nigiri but don’t get the«California» roll: I don’t recall it always being filled with«Krab» the disgusting fake colored red and mayo seafood concoction. And pretty greasy dishes with oil here. And remember: keep track of the colors! Mostly the 6 quid yellow and 5 quid magenta are out for a spin on the track. Over and over. And no service, which is why I have time to write this review right now live.

Oh no, now I’m going to seem like the snobby mean reviewer… I am really surprised by all these 4 – 5 star reviews for Yo! Sushi! I arrived back in London quite late last night with a sushi craving… so I figured I’d give Yo! a chance… The bento boxes in the take away section looked a bit sad(and I had terrible«crab» sushi from Yo! in Manchester, so I thought I should avoid this…) In the end I just grabbed a couple of the mini chirashi zushi pots. The«chirashi» was basically the end sections of Yo sushi rolls… they have just chopped off the leftovers, so you get a teeny bit of rice/nori and topping in a plastic pot. It doesn’t contain much fish and the main flavour is a generous blob of mayonnaise. I actually like the idea of this… it’s cool that Yo! is trying to prevent waste, it’s just if they want to sell their waste products, they need to make them a bit tastier! It certainly wasn’t chirashi sushi! Ah well… at least it was cheap. I’m trying hard to think of other good things to say about my take-away experience last night, but«at least it was cheap» is the best I can do. (Yo! Sushi = No! Sushi)

I think this place is super cute. This place has a colorful vibrant playful décor. I love the sushi conveyor belt. The sushi is pre made and you can just grab the sushi off the conveyor belt while sitting at your table. I found the portions to be extremely small for the price. However, I love the concept.

At first I was turned off by the concept of train station sushi, but after being introduced to Yo! Sushi through their South Bank location I decided to give the Paddington restaurant a try. Boy, am I glad that I did! While I feel that the portion sizes are too small given the price per plate, everything I ate was delicious, and the service top notch. Staff was friendly and even offered guests bowls of miso, something that didn’t happen at the other location I had previously visited. There were purse/coat hooks under the bar(unlike South Bank), making it easier to manage your belongings. Everyone working at this location was super nice and efficient, and because of the staff I would definitely go back – even if I wasn’t trying to catch a train!

mmm sushi I simply love how they make it here. Yes, it’s a bit expensive bit since I don’t know a better place I go to this one. Service is nice fast enough and staff is friendly.

Makes an ok lunch when travelling through Paddington where decent food options are few and far between. Standard Yo Sushi options as expected.

Very poor attempt, food is lacklustre at best, service is poor, and difficult to communicate with. Fish is so cold you could be eating wet cotton wool, oil in the fryers could do with changing. Overall very grubby, feels unclean. I will not be back.

YO! Sushi is the perfect option if you need a break from just another boring sandwich at lunchtime, especially if dining on your own. I’m a bit of a fake when it comes to sushi in general as I am very squeamish about seafood. I generally don’t venture much past their YO! Rolls(salmon and avocado, and I just ignore the truth about the orange crust) and add one or two of their salad dishes. I recently discovered grilled aubergine which is absolutely delicious and not even too unhealthy(calorific values are listed in the menus). I am not generally a fan of chains, but I just can’t get enough of YO! and happy that I don’t have to travel all the way into Soho to visit the original branch in Poland Street.

If you are in for a quick meal it’s a better option than the junk at the station. If you have time save your money and go elsewhere.

This is NOT sushi. A little machine spits out rice patties and the young staff place pre-sliced pieces of who-knows-how-old pieces of raw fish on top. We so missed sushi on our 10 days in the UK that we decided to try this place despite our misgivings. After watching them make the«nigiri» and after seeing the sad selections, I opted for miso soup and a few gyoza, then paid, exited, and went to Upper Crust for a superb baguette. Just say No! Sushi.

ALthough you cold get Sushi in the inside food store, we love Yo! Sushi since years. ANd if you dont have time to sit and choose form all the goodies passing you than choose a ready box or ask to ge yo individual box created. Always fesh and yummy.

In the world of Yo! Sushi, a world that is tasteless and boring, the Paddington Station outlet stands out as especially grim. The pigeons flocking at your feet spreading disease and waiting for you to drop a grain of soggy rice definitely don’t help. But it gets worse. They leave stuff on the belt for way longer than is okay, rice was never meant to taste like that. The staff is completely incompetent. I am ashamed to admit that I’ve been here twice(it’s convenient, okay!), but both times had the same experience. Getting the bill is impossible because the young woman who works the register prefers to giggle with her co-workers than do anything(honey, we all feel that way, but cop on). Getting orders is also nearly impossible. They won’t take them. They forget to bring them. Etc. etc. The last time I was here they included a large piece of plastic in a sushi hand roll. They gave me a new one, but like… ew. The only thing positive about this place that I can think of is that you could probably eat a full meal and walk away without anyone noticing. So if you’re into that kind of adrenaline rush, have at it.

This is a great place for a snack/alternative to meeting friends for drinks. The stools along the doughnut counter are comfortable, and the glass partition between this little shopping enclave and the rest of the station really does create a more relaxed, quiet environment. I find it quite difficult to be bothered to keep track of what colour costs what, and have found the price can soon add up. Unless you are a pig though, it can get ridiculous, particularly if you take advantage of the tap water. I don’t know how this place would work with more than two people eating together. I suspect conversation would be more difficult. I would not, however, mind trying this place out for myselfit is a fantastic situation for people-watching.

In the midst of all the usual places to eat at the stations in London is the small but bustling oasis that is Yo Sushi! where finally there is something else on offer other than cooked pastries, pizza or burgers. The place can be a little daunting at first if not used to the conveyor belt set up, but it’s really rather good. Once you’ve ordered your drink(And I highly reccommend the Miso soup, it is deliecious) you just watch the belt, when something rolls past that you like the look of and is in your price range(Indicated by the colour of the plate) you pick it up and put it down in fron of you to eat. Of course this can drive you a little nuts if you aren’t thinking and realise too late that you wanted something that went past, but that’s okay, just wait for it to come back around and enjoy watching the staff place fresh new choices on the belt to choose from too! Strangely, the Yo Sushi! in the middle of Paddington, though surrounded by every other food establishment and rather bustling, is very calming as you watch the plates go around as you sip your soup and play with your chopsticks. Staff will ask you when you sit down to order drinks if you’ve been to a Yo Sushi! before, don’t be scared of saying no as they are very helpful and make it all less daunting. My first time they even showed me exactly how to hold chopsticks so that I would be able to eat. If you are looking for a change this is a great place to go, fresh healthy food that doesn’t drip in grease — and of course, after being so healthy you don’t feel so bad when you leave and treat yourself to an indulgent coffee and perhaps a cake from Krispy Kreme, located just accross from Yo Sushi!

While expensive, the Yo! Sushi concept is a brilliant one. The sushi is really tasty, there’s all the water and soy sauce you can eat on tap too All the food is colour coded according to price, you pay at the end, and it’s easy to spend a lot — so get your calculator out as you go!

While I agree this is a great, fun place to go, it’s maybe not the best place to take the terminally indecisive when you haven’t got long to go before some of the party are catching a train The one decisive member of the group did not have fun waiting for the others to stop dithering and choose a plate! I guess it’s great if you have enough money to grab a few plates and get on with it, but if you are on a tight budget then choosing can be difficult. Having seen something in the identification lists you then spend ages wondering if there’s one on the conveyer belt and if it’s going to come round. Probably should have asked, but that would have spoiled the fun! A choice with large pieces of raw salmon proved too much for the normally fish-loving youngster in our group, but was finished up by the others. I spent ages trying to find something really interesting with seaweed in the cheaper ranges, and finally, under pressure, settled for crabstick and avocado wrapped in seaweed, rice and sesame seeds. Crabstick seems like a cop-out. Unless I’m much mistaken it’s actually fish(cooked fish what’s more) with crab flavouring(at least it was when I was a kid, someone please tell me if I’m wrong). But was VERY tasty, and a second plate was promptly snared for the younger member! Soup and water is not free: there’s a charge of, I think, £1.75 for miso soup and £1 for water, though they are then unlimited. The miso soup was interesting, mixing saltiness, yeastiness and a slight bitterness. I liked it, but it wouldn’t be to everyone’s taste. I think I saw portions of noodles and rice going round on the cheapest plates too. Anyway, really enjoyed it and had a good portion and soup for a fiver. Service was great and friendly, and it did end up being fast enough, though there was a queue to pay. It would be very easy to stack up a fair bill though! Watch out when grabbing dishes: it’s quite tricky to balance standing up on the stools and grabbing a moving target! Definitely something that has to be done at least once, and I think I’ll be back

This is a perfect place to grap a quick bite before catching a train. Every time i have been there has been just about enough space so you don’t have to wait. The concept at yo sushi is perfect for a station complex. You take whatever you want on the conveyer-belt so there is no waiting time. You can however order some dishes such as the Chicken Catsu Curry. This in my opinion is the best option as it tastes extremely fresh. You see them preparing it before your eyes. The sushi from the belt can sometimes taste a bit old if you are unlucky. Waiters are friendly and prices are very reasonable for sushi.

We had arranged to get a jacket potato for lunch before my very good friend had to dash off to get on a flight but we were running a bit late so decided to grab something at Paddington so she could hop on the Heathrow Express after throwing some food down her throat. For speed, convenience and efficiency there is none better than YO! Sushi. Not to mention how fun it is, but I will. It’s really fun! The dishes are colour coded by price and travel past you on a conveyor belt and you just yoink out whichever ones you fancy. You can also order unlimited miso soup or green tea and you pour your own water from little taps at the table. The YO! Sushi in Paddington station is even more crazy than your usual as it’s in the middle of everything and it feels like the whole world is going around on conveyor belts round you. Be careful you don’t get too carried away as the cost can mount as you pile up the brightly coloured plates that include delicious desserts, as well as hot dishes you can order from the menu.
