This is a fish and chip shop which is in a really good place if your after some post night out grub. At any other time the fish is shockingly bad. You need alcohol to think this place is any good. The chips are ok but you hardly get any even in a large portion. It’s very overpriced for a poor quality fish and chip shop. Don’t go here for your tea. Do go here if you’ve been out in the printworks!

Have been living in Manchester for ages and have been waiting just about as long for a decent fish and chip place to show up. Beautiful chips, tasty fish with brill batter, nice sausages. Just what I want for my Friday fish supper.

I’ve got to say that I was genuinely excited when I found this place. I know! Excited about a business in the Printworks. Oh no. It’s just that I seem to find it really hard to find traditional fish and chip shops nowadays. Usually their pizza/kebab/chicken and chips kind of places. Sure, I’ll eat as much junk from these places as the next guy on a night out, but I miss some traditional fish and chips on a Friday night. There are less of these places around in the city centre. And that’s why Dockers is pretty great. The prices are fine, and they concentrate on selling fish and chips that aren’t half bad either. Excellent stuff.

I never thought I would see something so truely british become a chain. Chips ain’t owned by flash businessmen in suits who ship around different parts of the country all during the week. Fish and chips are owned by the odd couple in every old miner town across the UK, the people who run them are local they usually know most of the customers. This then truely goes against the tide with people who don’t really care and a standardised set of rules for all establishments. So how does it fair? The fish and chips is good surprisingly, nice and fresh. The prices are reasonable and the staff are ok, the place doesn’t stink of thick grease and feels cleaner then your average chippy. It still leaves you with that sense of dread after you finish it off but ar well.
