This place is looking a little dated, sure they have spruced up the front of the store but the layout inside is looking something from the 1980’s. A great place for finding bargains and the staff are always well presented a friendly.

We often shop at BHS, but this is the first time we’ve eaten at their in-​store restaurant. It’s not a thing we make a habit of; our usual attitude is ‘We’ll eat at BHS when restaurants start selling shirts’. But, today, we were in rather a hurry, and had vouchers for a considerable discount. The meal was served cafeteria-​style, and we thought the choice rather limited. The food was nothing to complain about, but nothing to write home about, either; I found my lasagne rather bland, and my wife said there wasn’t much taste to her chicken. I thought that they could have been a little more efficient about clearing the tables, too. On the next table was a tray of ‘empties’ that weren’t removed all the time we were there. I will continue to shop at BHS; it’s only the restaurant I’m only awarding two stars to. Maybe they should stick to what they do best?

A large store with friendly and helpful staff. Before embarking on shopping relax for a bit in their coffee shop — this has a small outside seating area for smokers or people wishing to enjoy the sunshine (if there is any!). They do a selection of sandwhiches along with sausage rolls and a few other hot snacks. Not overly priced it is all cooked nicely and whenever I have ordered a sausage roll it has always been piping hot and certainly cooked right through.
There are large male and female sections and a few household items — the staff here are helpful and appear happy — they will certainly help you if you need a little advice or an opinion. Tidiness is kept throughout the store and it always appears clean and well looked after.

The only reason I go into BHS these days is because of their home and lighting department. Although I have to say that on my recent visit their prices were extortionate! I wanted a chandelier and saw one on the window that looked lovely. The price rivalled Laura Ashley so that was quite off putting! The shop itself is ok in terms of layout womens /​mens and home downstairs and kids upstairs with the restaurant this is a bit average! The café downstairs has a nice view of the high street for people watching though! OK for cheep kids coats too!

BHS in Southampton is a good large shop with a variety of items to buy. There are some nice clothes from children to adult and there is also homeware to have a browse too. The style of the clothing is rather plain and dull and very uninspirational but now and then you might catch and find a good bargain in there.

I used to shop in BHS more, but whenever I’ve been in this one recently, can never see anything that I’d remotely want to buy. That might be more a criticism of BHS clothes generally though. However, it is a large store, and if you can manage to find what you’re looking for, it is worth a look. Personally, I tend to find that I avoid this shop simply because going in it always depresses me slightly, and can’t actually remember the last time I bought anything there. They do have a café downstairs, as well as a fairly decent (if overpriced) cafeteria on the first floor.

A good place to find cheap clothes, gifts and household items. They sell some good gifts at Christmas although some are a bit expensive. Queues in the shop get quite long. They have a café and the prices aren’t too bad, The food I have had tasted nice.
