Fox & Hounds The Lone Barn

Worst service ever! We went at Christmas and there was a power cut, which meant all the fridges were not working. Bartender just threw his hands up and that was pretty much it. Did not try and make the best out of dim lights and bottles of wine or anything. We were happy to sort sandwiches, or anything, but he was just browned off.
Went this past weekend 10÷4÷14 and evil women stared down her nose at us and inquired «what do you want ladies»? There was a party of 10 of us (all adults) coming to look for dinner, and instead of, sorry we are fully booked, perhaps a drink at the bar, wait list etc. it was a genuine dismissal. With that kind of service we will NEVER be back to see if the food was any good or not.
Bad review for the blond woman who was SO unpleasant on Saturday night.

Food amazing, service is good and quick! Can get busy during peak lunch and dinner hour so avoid if you can!

One of my favourite pub/​restaurants in the area. When I come for a meal here in the vening I always try and make sure I sit in the barn area of this pub. It is a very old renovated barn with mahy of the original features and dozens of old pieces of farming equipment either hanging on the wall or suspended from the ceiling.
The atmosphere here in the evening is relaxed and, if part of a couple, very romantic as it is candle lit. The food is exquisite with reasonable portions and high quality food — steak is cooked to your liking and if you need something to be removed — i. e a sauce for the steak, they are happy to accomodate.
Friendly and warm this is situated in what appears to be the middle of nowhere with food to suit all tastes — they also have a selection of rather potent fruit wines — peach is my favourite, I always buy a bottle or two to take home!
