Typical Harvester menu, have visited this place a few times over the years, and although it has a very nice exterior to the building, the interior can on occasion let it down. On my last visit, the tables looked as though they hadn’t been properly cleaned(ring marks etc), the varnish was chipped & scarred on a lot of them, which doesn’t really create a good impression, toilets were smelly, floor wet, quite unpleasant. Food was mediocre, the chips were terrible(stale, warm ups?). If you are forced to eat in the bar area when it’s busy, it can get quite noisy. If you’re on a tight budget, I’d say grab a take away.

This place used to be a Beefeater and was awful, it has just recently turned into a Harvester and when i went yesterday it was fantastic. I have always liked the building anyway, so it was a shame it was so bad as a beefeater. We went on a sunday afternoon about 3pm and it took us roughly 10 minutes to get a table, there were 6 of us. Service was really good and the food was lovely. I had spitroast chicken with mash and gravy. The chicken was beautiful and tender and the mash was homemade, or at least it tasted like it was! There is also a good range of dessert and i opted for the lemon tart which was beautiful. My partner had the rocky horror which was a chocolate brownie type thing and this too was nice! If you go before 6.30pm you get the earlybird prices on some meals which means they work out at just £4.99 each and the portions are huge! Well worth a try.
