5-Stars! [Updates below] Just getting started on a project with Dana and Doug and it’s been great so far — great communication, transparency, and seemingly willing to deliver accurate information, even if it’s not quite what a homeowner wants to hear. All aspects which I appreciate and reinforce why I’m glad we selected them. More updates to come over the next few months! Update #1 — Four Months In(About 40%) …still a 5-star review. They’re a bit behind schedule but this was a brutal winter to start a house. I’ve asked a lot of them, from price shaving to pushing for additional options, and they haven’t flinched yet. They’ve been spot on the budget and any overages have been self-inflicted. They’ve suggested as many areas where to save money as they have where to invest(e.g.” invest in insulation, we can probably find some savings in XYZ”). I’ve tried to introduce myself to most of the crews on site and they’ve all been extremely professional and friendly. More to follow… Update #2 — 16 Months In(About 99%) We moved in within two weeks of their initial forecast — not too bad considering they were forecasting out a year. The last two months were a sprint and created some tension between us and the Integrity team, especially since two of their subcontractors did a sub-par job(paint and electrical). We struggled a bit with Doug in the final few months of the project in terms of communication and priority. We didn’t get the impression that he was as focused on delivering the same level of quality that Dana, and the Integrity reputation, had originally set us to expect. A few months after moving in and we still have a pretty big punch list and feel that I’m having to push a little to hard to get them to come finish. They’ll talk about being too swamped with work but as a customer, that’s not really my problem. I’m deducting one-star(down to four) and hoping they can finish as strong as they started. (We do get a lot of compliments on the house but I have to believe that most of those are thanks to our architect, Kevin ten Brinke.) Update #3 — Deducting one star as nine months after moving in and we still have outstanding issues which are becoming an increasing point of frustration(three of those months were at our request to delay). Overall, I believe we have a solidly built house that lacks the attention of detail provided by builders at similar price points(based off our inspection of other recent builds by builders that came in at similar pricing to Integrity). As a result, as of now, if I were to build another house tomorrow I would not use Integrity due, in part, to their lack of attention to detail and disinterest in customer service.
