Loved it, but drove by Friday and it was closed and taken over by some vegan restaurant, yuk! So sad they closed… my favorite chinese take-out/delivery in the Metroplex. Sesame chicken ruled!

I was in town for business and needed a quick sushi place for lunch. This one was within walking distance from the hotel so I tried it. Its set up like a fast food restaurant because you go up and order and they bring it out to you. Very fast service, I was in and out quickly. I wasn’t expecting much from the sushi since it was so reasonably priced and in a ‘fast food’ type chinese place. I got the spicy tuna roll and rainbow roll. The rainbow roll was really good but the only thing spicy about the tuna roll was that they put a dollup of tobasco sauce on top. Probably not the place to go to get awesome sushi, but for a quick, cheap lunch its not bad!

I used to order food from here all the time when I lived in Addison. Some of the menu items are not good at all, but others are very nice. I recommend the lo mein and the sesame chicken.

Four stars for their affordable prices, quality food, ease of ordering online with follow up phone call to verify your order, their delivery service, although it takes a little while, it is great. But I always order at a busy time of day. Would recommend their Chinese dinner menu, I like how they don’t skimp on the vegetables. Have also ordered delivery sushi and it’s good quality, generous portion. Can’t beat decent delivery sushi!

I came here around 9 on a Wednesday night after looking on Unilocal for some cheap, quick food near my hotel. First off, I was sort of disappointed by the pricing on the menu. Everything for lunch was about $ 6 – 7, but dinners were more in the $ 9 – 11 range(I’m sure portion sizes are different, but I don’t really eat more for dinner than lunch…), and if you wanted beef(or some other modifications) that was extra too. It was a little confusing too since you choose a dish then you choose the meat. I contemplated ordering something like«General Tsao’s Chicken» with Beef. But, not wanting to look like a stupid white guy, I ordered #10 Hunan with Chicken, for take out with the friendly lady behind the counter. The order took probably about 10 minutes for them to prepare. During that time I got to look around the place a little. The sketchiest thing I saw there was what I’m pretty sure is the Sushi prep area which had a lot of stuff that didn’t look that great wrapped in plastic wrap(I’m guessing they don’t have much Sushi turnover, so I’d be wary of it’s freshness). I got my very hot and large order and rushed back to my hotel room to enjoy. The egg roll it came with was fairly small, but not bad. The main course though was thoroughly disappointing. The meal had a red pepper next to it on the menu to indicate that it was spicy, but I would give it a 0 on the Scoville Scale… there was absolutely no detectable spice/heat. On top of that, it seemed to have no flavor(except salty). I don’t know what if any spices are typically used in this dish, but couldn’t pick up any. It seems like they must use some cheap soy sauce, because I couldn’t even pick up the«umami» that comes with good soy sauce, but it was definitely plenty salty. The chicken was of low quality and was cut into large pieces(smaller pieces can be distributed in with all the copious amounts of vegetables more easily). Also, they didn’t give any chopsticks(maybe it’s because I’m white, maybe it’s because I should’ve asked for them…). As far as portion size, it was definitely large enough, actually, I would say it was about 2x larger than I needed(maybe if it tasted better I would’ve eaten more…). All in all, I was very disappointed in this meal after seeing that they had 3.5 stars on Unilocal.I was so disappointed that I broke my Unilocal silence to write this review, and threw away 2⁄3 of my food. I feel bad rating a small business with 1 star, but that’s probably more accurate than the 2 stars I was going to give.

I should have known something was up when I asked whats was in the bento box(pointing to the counter’s menu). The girl behind the counter slaps another menu on the counter, flips it over and points to a description(she spoke English). The sushi(spicy tuna roll) was old looking, not fresh at all. The two bento boxes that were ordered came with California rolls, one they forgot the avocado. The soup that came with it tasted like ass and the chicken was gross. This was a complete waste of money and time. Nothing was enjoyed nor gained here besides learning this was a mistake. I’m not sure how these folks are still open. Either way, don’t go here. I usually never bad mouth a business but i will never eat here again.

I ordered take out and wasn’t impressed. Almond Chicken– loaded with dark, fatty meat. Lo Mein w Chicken– plain old bland. The chicken was white meat, but dry and had a strange taste. Sesame Chicken– lean white meat chicken, but tough and dry. Kung Pao– the best of the four dishes as it was the most flavorful. The shrimp, although large and abundant, had a strong fish taste. Overall, the taste and flavor was severely lacking, and the quality was questionable. The portions are huge, though. I’d like to try it again based on everyone else’s reviews, but for now… 2 stars.

A coworker and I ordered sushi from Oriental Lite while we were at work. He ranted and raved about their sushi, sashimi, etc but I had my doubts about delivery sushi. When it arrived, I was surprised. We ordered cucumber rolls, volcano rolls, tuna rolls, vegi tempura, and edimame. I have to say, this restaurant has the best cucumber rolls, and tempura that I’ve had in a really long time. The tempura melts in your mouth with a light and crispy outside, and the cucumber was really fresh and crunchy. The rice in all of the sushi was really good with the perfect amount of rice wine vinegar. The edimame was fantastic and addictive. The delivery was quick, and all the prices were amazingly reasonable. Now it’s a weekly thing. I crave Oriental Lite’s food. I usually order on-line, so I’ve never been to the restaurant, but every time that I speak to someone over the phone, or talk with the delivery guy, everyone is always really nice and treats you like their new best friend. Great Food, Fast Delivery, and Terrific Service. FIVESTARS.

Fastest. Delivery. Ever. After a long physical and mental day in a training seminar, I fought through what lingered of Hurricane Alex back to the Courtyard Marriot. I was cold, tired, and hungry, and didn’t know which problem to fix first. I grabbed a menu from the hotel staff and headed up to my room to hunker down for the evening. I drew bath, called here to place my order, then settled in to soak. Not five minutes later there was a knock on my door. I’m not sure who was more surprised, me that my food was already there, or the poor delivery dude who had to make the exchange with me in my towel. Woozy from the dip in the tub and even moreso from the smell, I crashed on the bed and dug in. I ordered the garlic chicken which was not really garlicly or that spicy, as the name and small chili pepper graphic would indicate, but it was piping hot and tasted great.(At some point I tend to think many take out Chinese dishes taste the same anyway. Does that make me racist?). Lots of meat, and I really liked how the veggies(carrots, onions, and zucchini) were julienned(that’s’ sliced thinly’ for those of you who don’t watch the Food Network) and even the water chestnuts were in small pieces. I got crab rangoon simply to meet the order minimum and had no intention of eating it. But it looked and smelled so good I dug into a triangle or two. More than just cream cheese, I think I got a hint of crab and some other spices. Nice. The soup was also richer than your typical wonton broth, although sadly, I used up my carb allowance on the rangoon so I had to abstain from the wontons themselves. Above average food and faster than the speed of light delivery. For that, five stars.

I decided to give this restaurant a try tonight after receiving a flyer for them on our door. This was welcomed being new to Dallas. I like that they offer both Chinese and Japanese food. I had a craving for a teriyaki bowl because I haven’t had one since the wife and I moved here 2 months ago. I ordered a beef teriyaki bowl, 2 spicy tuna rolls(one for the mrs. who is out tonight), and a teriyaki roll just to try iy. The first thing I noticed was that the spicy tuna was different from what I’m used to. Rather than mixing the tuna with mayo and sriracha, it was a standard tuna roll with a dot of sriracha on top. It wasn’t bad, just different. The teriyaki roll was pretty good, just chicken teriyaki, rice, and nori. The beef teriyaki bowl was pretty good. I’d say average. It came with broccoli and carrots. They were pretty fresh and not over or under cooked which was nice. The beef though, it was a little tough. I’m not expecting filet mignon, but it was borderline jerky. That was really the only negative thing foodwise. Overall I enjoyed the meal and will most likely order from them again. I like delivery sushi. The only other negative thing, which isn’t a huge deal, but kind of annoying were the extra fees I wasn’t told about until I got the receipt. It included a $ 1 service fee, $ 0.50 for extra teriyaki sauce, and $ 0.30 for using my credit card. I understand having a delivery fee, no biggie. I understand the charge for extra sauce. I just wish they’d told me about them. The credit card fee shouldn’t be there. As far as I know, this is illegal to charge. Well it may not be illegal, but certainly against most user agreements with credit card processors. I know it costs money to use a credit card machine to process payment, but that is part of doing business. So, after my novel… If you looked these guys up on Unilocal to see about trying them out. I say go for it. Next time I’ll try the Chinese side of the menu and pay cash.

Maybe living close to a ton of deliciously diverse Chinese food has turned me into a snob, but I just wasn’t impressed by the place. Sure, I mean, I don’t really know what the Chinese food scene is like in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, but I just wasn’t happy here. The place was empty when my friend and I arrived to eat after a whole day of running around a convention. It was the closest place and we were both feeling like Chinese. His General Tsao’s Chicken was rather stale. My Hunan Beef lacked any real flavor. The Hot and Sour Soup was good, but nothing to write home about.

We have been ordering from this restaurant for years(and eating in sometimes too). Their delivery is excellent — weather to work or to the house; prompt and accurate. The food is really excellent. We have tried other items from the menu but our favorite still remains the Dan Dan Noodles. Ask for them to be made up as spicy as you like, from mild to hot and they will accommodate your wishes. It’s an excellent restaurant with friendly staff.

Oriental Lite is a lifesaver! They have an abundance of ‘healthier’ selections compared to most Chinese delivery joints. I also love that they have sushi and other Japanese items. The rolls on the menu are rather basic, but they are rather decent… especially considering that they are dropped directly to your door so you can dine in your pajamas! I like the rainbow roll, the spicy tuna roll and the caterpillar roll. The miso soup tastes off from here, so I don’t order it anymore. The shrimp tempura is horrible. There is so much breading that it can’t be cooked to crispy perfection. Yuck! Overall, Oriental Lite is a pretty good place to order from. I’m super picky about my sushi, so that says a lot! It is not the best, but it is several steps up from what you will find at most sushi buffets.

Delicious! I had the General Tso chicken and loved it! The meal came with a egg roll and rice and the rice was cooked perfectly. I liked the nice bear friendly portions. Next time I’m in the area and want Chinese I will stop there. I had the avocado roll and it would have been perfect had the avocado not have been mushy. And on top of that we had a nice greeting as we walked on the door. Overall good stuff.

Nuthin like have Asian food on the 4th. Well, that’s how we started our 4th — don’t plan on ending it that way. ;-) I walked in to get some steamed dumplings to go along with my pad Thai, I know, I know. I’m all over the place when it comes to Asian food. I like to cook my pad Thai sometimes and my boyfriend loves it. The steamed dumplings melted in our mouths. They were perfect… and perfectly steamed. Not too gummy or mushy. I plan on ordering from here since I was informed they deliver in my area. Yeah, total score.
