Terrible sound, weird floor layout, way overpriced drinks, bartender tried to charge me for an extra drink. Rude moolie security guard. Would never come here again.

Ugg! Only thing that makes it bearable would be the group of fun friends you go w. «Security guards» or toy soldiers as we refer have egos working at this dump? Silly! It’s for older crowd that just wanna dance and laugh w each other. If you go all dolled up to meet someone. That would just be sad. scary singles abound… Left feeling happy to see my friends but, wanted to immediately go home and shower for both physical and mental cleanse …

Ok we got here at 7:30 to see Boogie Knights at 10 o’clock. We sat down at a seat facing the band, and the manager Andrew came and talked to us, chatted with us… was very personable. And then he came back like 15 minutes later and said «OK, do you guys have reserved seats because the seats are reserved… you have to move». Sorry but that’s bullshit. One star for that Andrew manager. And all his friends, it seemed, had reserved seats where we were sitting. We moved, but if the seats are reserved have a little sign that says «reserved» Don’t make us move. Yeah, just pissed us off. Not cool.

Great place but the sound man named Chris is an asshole so till he’s gone guess we won’t be spending our money there. !!! Rude wanna be a balla NOT with his fake ass jewelry!!!

Delicious food! I had the lemon chicken and the pizookie cookie thing! I definitely recommend this place for food and music!

I bought 4 tickets to the Snoop Dogg «concert» on Saturday 1÷23÷16 without any idea that this would be Snoop in front of a computer playing music off of his playlist with maybe three tracks he sang over his own tracks and sometimes letting the track sing for him. If this were advertised properly, that he would not be performing vocally, I would’ve NEVER purchased 4 tickets! One of the tickets was a Christmas present for my husband, who would have enjoyed Snoop on the mic singing his songs not watching him in front of a computer!
If this was supposed to be a DJ event then let the people know and advertise this clearly. Then clear the dance flo so we can dance. Everyone was standing around going, «WUT?! We supposed to pay more than $ 100 per person to stand around and listen to tracks and we can’t even dance»?! I want my $ 400 back for the tickets! And to add insult to injury, if you don’t want to stand in the shoulder-​to-​shoulder crowd and want a table to sit, Canyon Club makes you buy dinner and drinks – so tack on another $ 160! Shame on you!

Saw Snoopdogg there on 1÷23÷2016 and it was Terrible, overprice table, to sit next to people bumping into your table and placing there drinks on your table. We had people placing there jackets on our seats. They never came to pick up the trash or the empty drinks. Beer cans were all over the floor. Snoop did not even perform he was a DJ playing non related snoop songs and very rarely he would rap. I was really looking forward to him playing some old songs from «Tha dogg pound» and original songs.

Drove 2 hours in rush hour traffic to see Tower of Power on 1−15−16. Got there early because we spent some money to also have dinner. The ticket price did not include dinner like it said on the web site. Staff mentioned it sounded confusing to them too and apologized. Food was limited in options and everything was ala cart and expensive. Cheapest dinner was $ 20, salad was $ 15 and a banana split was $ 15. Beers $ 10 EA. Besides the dinner bait and switch, the band was amazing, the sound was decent and I was glad to be at a table while they packed people in standing room only behind us. Don’t spend money like this all the time but glad I did. Odd decorating choices… a huge chair next to the bar (so anyone sitting it could feel like a kid?) and the carved mayan wall of men holding their over-​sized cocks outside the mens room.

DO NOT GO HERE! This club is horrible, the management is despicable and rude, and they DO NOT HONOR YOUR TICKETS. THEY GIVE YOUR HIGH PRICED TICKETMASTER RESERVED SEATS AWAY. I spent years in the music business owning and running one of the largest entertainment booking agencies in West Hollywood. If I were to ever conduct business in the way that the Canyon Club does, I’d be in jail. I’m amazed that so many Unilocalers write about their tickets not being honored yet no one does anything about it.
A friend bought front row tickets through Ticketmaster for six of us to see Tower of Power at the Canyon Club on Jan. 15. She bought these tickets in early August — five months ago– for my birthday. We’ve been fans of Tower of Power since we went to high school together. When she gave me the tickets, she joked that the singer would be sweating on us since our table was in the first row. She paid top dollar for these tickets.
We arrived with our party of six and waited in line and then were taken to our seats. All of our seats were occupied by a group of people. We were told that the manager needed to figure out what was going on, that maybe they overbooked the club. After waiting a good 15 minutes, a manager, who looked about 20, came out and said that they had seated friends of the band in our seats and that we couldn’t sit there; that they could only give us a refund. He was rude. We told him that we wanted our seats; that they had been paid months ago and that the club needed to honor them. He said his «boss» said they could not accommodate us in those seats and told us that our only choice was to sit in seats in the back of the club.
We asked to speak to his boss, who he told us was Jennifer Moran. He said she was too busy to see us. We were offered no comps, nothing. Just a refund.
I am shocked that people have posted this kind of practice at the Canyon Club on Unilocal yet no one has filed a complaint with Ticketmaster. A ticket buyer has a contract with Ticketmaster when they purchase tickets. They even pay a service fee for these tickets. A venue cannot gives away seats that were paid for through Ticketmaster. This is fraud.
My husband and I are filing a complaint against the Canyon Club with Ticketmaster and we urge anyone who has been through this kind of experience with the Canyon Club to do the same. We are also filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Interesting night.
Friends invited us to celebrate a birthday. We got there early to enjoy dinner and some drinks before the love entertainment.
Out table was given to someone else. «Bigger party». We were given an excuse of, «the Internet doesn’t show true sitting arrangements.
We order drinks and some appetizers. Nachos and chicken satay. Wow, simply wow Chips stale. Chicken ice cold.
Manager comp’d the items plus our next round.
Birthday day man got their filet, I got the ribeye. We were both happy with these items.
The band did a great job playing 70 – 80’s music. We went home happy.

I have never eaten here but have seen some great bands over the years. I was living out of state for many years and went back for the first time in January to see the Dead Kennedys. The show was good except for repeated problems with the sound. The band improvised, but that has to be on the venue. Even so, it’s a good place to see a show and they book some good acts.
Just saw X and it was an amazing show. Had dinner, which was overpriced and not very good, with $ 10 beers and I prefer the GA shows.

My first visit to the Canyon Club may just be my last, because it would require a truly special act appearing on stage for me to tolerate the Canyon Club’s special brand of nonsense again.
I had opened my Ticketmaster app to buy some tickets for another show, when I fortuitously saw that The Dan Band was playing in nearby Augora Hills, and I hopped on the sale immediately, getting some reserved seats in the front row. This was doubly exciting, since they do a lot of crowd work, and being in the front row puts you right in the firing line. The tickets were a bit overpriced, but hey, I was going to be right up close to the action… or so I thought.
We arrived and were escorted to our seats, which were decidedly not the front-​row seats I had reserved several weeks before. They weren’t even the second row, or third, or even fourth for that matter. We were shown seats near the back of the table section. Naturally, this was a bit upsetting, since traditionally, reserved seating means that your seats are, um… what’s the word? Oh, that’s right: f^$%#ing reserved.
I asked to speak with the manager, and she stated that they had to shuffle the seating arrangement a bit, though the table layout was EXACTLY as outlined on the seating chart when I bought my tickets, so I’m not exactly sure what sort of jiggery-​pokery they had employed to magically change the seating. When I showed her that my ticket which clearly had the words «reserved» and «row 1» on them, she just stared at me blankly. There were people sitting in the seats I had reserved, and instead of offering to seat me where I was supposed to be, she offered up several excuses about how this was beyond her control. News flash: you are the manager… everything should be under your control. This isn’t the first time they’ve put on a show, so reserved seating shouldn’t be such a mystery.
We were offered no apology. She didn’t even offer any comps to make up for their error. I was essentially offered a take-​it-​or-​leave it proposition to sit several rows back from my RESERVED seats.
Ticketmaster was kind enough to refund my money, since the venue wasn’t willing to take any steps to make it right, but it shouldn’t have needed to be that way. All I can say is that when you purchase a ticket you are purchasing a commitment to be seated where you paid to be seated. They don’t seem to give two flying craps about that commitment, and they don’t even seem to be ashamed by it. It’s dishonest, and downright unethical.
So, unless the next concert is something truly remarkable, like Tom Waits singing duets with the reanimated corpse of Frank Zappa while Simon and Garfunkel provide backup vocals, you won’t find me giving this POS venue another chance.
Avoid.

Horrid venue. Went there last Friday. They pack you in like sardines on long tables. You literally have NO room to move or eat dinner. You are guaranteed to be elbowed by your neighbor, or you will be the one elbowing your neighbor as you try to eat because of how little space there is.
the food is so amazingly overpriced. 15 $ for a cookie! No joke! And the food is terrible.
The service is horrid. They kept mixing up orders and I was told i could not order a drink because the bar was too backed up. They served us food with no silverware, had to ask multiple times for water. Everyone just seemed so lost. it was almost comical how disorganized everything was.
I will NEVER go back here.

I went down to the box office today to buy tickets for a show, cash in hand. I was informed that I would still need to pay a $ 4 processing fee per ticket. The person behind the counter explained, «It’s because of ticketmaster. The fee is automatically charged. You’re lucky that you’re paying cash or you’d be charged an additional $ 5 if you’d paid with a card.» I pointed out that the website literally says, «No Processing Fee for Tickets purchased with cash from the box office» (click on
) and was told, «Yeah, I know. The website is wrong,» and realized that I had two choices: pay a bogus fee for each ticket to see a group we’ve really been wanting to see, or not go because of principle.
What horrible customer service. False advertising at its finest.

It’s a good music venue and we’ve been coming here since 1991. Come here for the bands but skip their horrid dinner!!! –5 stars for dinner. Our third dinner in all that time and all were horrible.
We were packed in like sardines and the seats we had ordered online, which were 4^th and 5^th from the stage turned out to be 12^th+. They were great seats but they should be exactly what you see on line.
We started with appetizers, but don’t ever order the greasy Mac-​n-​cheese bites. We passed them around and nobody liked them. Coffee came in a styrofoam cup! Seriously WTF! Waitress brought creamer with my coffee but after asking 4 times for sugar, I went to the bar and got some from the bartender. And I was never asked if I wanted a refill. My med-​rare rib eye was beyond well done. The garlic mashed potatoes were good. And serving beer in 25 oz cans Is okay, but how about glasses. So disappointing!
The band sounded great and being in a smaller venue made the experience very fun.

I had read some reviews knocking the food. My filet mignon was great.
Our seats were great, I plan on coming back. We sat next to a very nice couple. The husband is an actor Chris Davis and his wife Lisa which made for nice conversation. And to top it off they were Packer Fan!!! Go pack go!,
The concert we saw was Jonny Lang. I can’t think of anything bad to say about the location. Service was perfect. Seems like every time I looked up the server was there asking if we needed anything.
My only complaint would be the web site recommending the Sheraton. Find a better place.

I don’t know what’s up with all the bad reviews. This place is an intimate venue for seeing great entertainers without all the hustle and bustle of dealing with the headaches of a large venue. The parking is good if just get there early. They booth seating is amazing. If you sit in the row seating that’s good too because you are so close to the entertainment. See if you can get that close in a large arena. There isn’t a bad seat in the house. The acoustics are good too. We always get the ribeye steak dinner and it’s always good. It’s was served with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus and cooked perfectly. The bathroom isn’t fancy but it was clean and no long lines like at large arenas. After going to the Canyon I have a hard time going to large arenas where you can’t even see the entertainer.

This is basically a honky tonk for the upperclass. If it hadn’t been for the extremely overpriced drinks, I would have rated this place as a standard 3 star average. I went for a Robert Randolph show, and was expecting a lively crew. This is a pretty big venue and t wasn’t very crowded, so the overall atmosphere was fairly lifeless. The crowd was older and not many people were up dancing.
This place has 2 huge bars, but when went to the first bar we were told by the 2 staff manning it that this bar was closed and we needed to walk across the venue to the other one. OK… no big deal really, except you have two people right there who could have made me a drink. At the open bar, Beer is limited to a few recognizable domestics and imports, but all sizes are 16 or 20 oz. cans or bottles starting at $ 10 a pop. $ 10 for a tall boy of PBR… And they are not even offering me a foot rub or commemorative mug to go with it.
So I order a whiskey ginger…$ 10.50. Priced like they are some swanky club in Hollywood. When I went back for another drink, there was NO bartender. Eventually someone came to help, but at these prices I want 10 star customer service!

3.5 stars. Regardless of the bad reviews, my dad and I enjoyed ourselves here. We were aware of the terms and conditions of reservations and had no issues. In short, if you order tickets directly from the venue they tell you that after 7 pm your reservation is in danger of being cancelled.
Service was good overall. My ribeye and dad’s new York steak were cooked perfectly for our medium rare preference. We satisfied the drink obligation with two beers, and our server waived the coffee, which was nice.
Soundwise the PA was alright. Not the most audiophile sound, but seeing Michael Schenker supported by the Scorpions rhythm section did hit all frequencies, however. The lighting and large crowd was great for atmosphere. I’d come back for sure, although closer to home is first choice.

Disclaimer: This review is not going to be based on the live music, the sound, beer selection, or ample (or lack there of) parking. Okay, I am a liar: there WILL be some of that, as this IS Unilocal,after all. However, this review will also be based on special criteria for the *special ladies* out there. It will be a passage in a guideline for the obsessed fans seeking to bypass security to get photos with bands or autographs. Who am I kidding… it’s also targeting groupies. I had my phase when I was younger and I have great stories. I might as well help aid the modern generation of gals who just want a little piece of the band for their own…
Guide for Obsessed Fans & Groupies #10:
Ladies, I am sure you are tired of the large concert venues where you have to battle crowds of drunken fans in your attempt to get closer to your favorite bands and musicians. Alas, The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills comes to your rescue. The Canyon Club is located passably in the «middle of nowhere». I’m talking an area of Agoura Hills where I passed fields of grazing horses only to discover that the venue itself is in a plaza at the base of some hills amongst antique shops and a gelato spot. Basically, The Canyon Club looks like a saloon and you feel like you are in the wild, wild west.
The venue itself is quite accommodating. Ample parking is available in the plaza’s lot (free) and if you get to The Canyon Club early (which I know you ladies will!) then the doors to the front are open as employees walk in and out and you can see and hear sound check! The employees aren’t elitist like others at music venues and they never question you being «in line» early and in fact, allow you to walk in and out of the venue to use their bathrooms so you can primp your makeup throughout the day!
Speaking of polite employees, they let us in before doors officially opened due to the chilly temperatures outside. Again, they basically let us roam free — this isn’t a high security venue. The Canyon Club offers seating in a dinner club setting so there is a general admission floor and tables off to the side where you sit and eat dinner during the show. Not only are these table tickets more expensive but totally worthless if you are just watching the show. Unless you are hungry, it is best to pay less for the general admission tickets where you will be right against the stage in «1^st row» (there are no stage barriers or security guards: this is not that type of place).
As for the show? Make sure to look your best ladies because, as I just stated, this is an intimate setting where you are practically touching the band on the stage. The lighting is great so make sure to snap lots of photos. They WILL see you inches away from them so look cute and smile! The sound at The Canyon Club is also on par. The sound guy is on stage versus in the back and he knows his chops. Musically, The Canyon Club is solid and tight. Bring a jacket or sweater though cause even with a large audience; the air is chilly inside.
Enough of that crap, right ladies? Here are the important details! It is very easy to meet your favorite band at The Canyon Club. After the show, the bar and venue stays open for some time during which band members hang around and chat with fans and again, the venue employees don’t care and let you do your thing. However, for those bands who aren’t as open, here is the secret. Walk through the small courtyard to the side (you will walk past a café and gem store) and to the back of the venue facing Kinkos. THIS is where you will meet the band! This area has the loading docks so you will see band members come in and out with their gear. Plus, this is the way they leave themselves. There are no other doors but through the public front. Most fans do not go back there and there are no security guards. I have many memories in this area.
On my personal experience, the employees continued to show their excellent customer service by letting us in «backstage» because they felt bad that we were waiting outside by the loading docks and thus we got to hang out with the band. The Canyon Club is pretty amazing! Eventually, the employees start to kick these backstage fans out but they are actually not that rude about it.
Overall, The Canyon Club is one of the top venues in terms of intimacy and meeting a band. The employees are kind and lax, parking is easy, there are no buff security guards, and you can basically climb on top of your favorite musician. The show quality is also great and offers a lovely concert experience. So next time you see a show scheduled The Canyon Club, make a beeline for Agoura Hills! It will be a night to remember!
