Fantastic. It’s rare to find someone dealing in used cars that is this upfront about things. I grew up with a dad who sold cars and I know what to look for. Carlos was completely on the up and up with me and I’m glad I sold to him instead of one of the local dealerships. If you’re looking to sell your car, or looking to buy, run it past Carlos first before trying anyone else.

We just left Carmark and we are so happy with the service they provided. Carlos Munevar made us feel welcome and secure of what we were doing. AMAZING.
My husband and I had a really bad deal with Audi, being fresh meat in the car-​buying business. We got shoved around by our car salesman and our liens holder. Now we’re PCS’ing back to the mainland and stuck with a lot of uncertainty and a car that really hurt us. We were basically backed into a corner with almost no other choice but to bite the bullet. After months of searching for solutions, we finally came across Carmark and Carlos.
Carlos was absolutely amazing with everything; he got a better appraisal for our vehicle than what we had expected, he used his expertise on our behalf when he spoke to our liens holder and handled them for us, he was very patient with our situation where others couldn’t be bothered to give us their time of day, he offered to help us with our next car purchase so we wouldn’t be blindsided again, and he is just a genuinely caring person. He cared about our situation and experience. He made sure we were properly taken care of. You don’t get that a lot in this business. And he is extremely military-​friendly.
That is why I highly recommend: friends and family looking for a place that’s trusted and caring to sell your vehicle to, go to Carmark and see Carlos. You won’t be disappointed.

Finding quality customer service in the auto industry can be ranked somewhere close to finding a pot of gold at the end of one of those amazing Hawaiian rainbows. The same can’t be said for working with Carlos. He contacted me after seeing my truck on Craigslist and we had set an appointment shortly after for me to go in. Being military, and not having much time to get everything situated, I knew that I wasn’t going to get retail for my truck, but my expectations weren’t very high when I showed up at Carmark. Carlos spent about 15 minutes checking my truck out and then showed me the current value on his super secret computer. We were able to come to negotiate an awesome deal for both of us in almost no time, and it took him all of three business days to get the payoff to my bank on the mainland. Thank you, Carlos, for taking some of the stress out of our move!!!

My boyfriend and I just sold our Colorado to Carmark. After being to a few dealers we were disappointed in the deals they were offering us and finally decided to give Carmark a chance. My boyfriend spoke with Carlos over the phone and we were soon on our way. Carlos gave our truck a quick evaluation and gathered some info in order to give us an offer. We went back and forth a few times with numbers but eventually agreed on one that made both parties happy. If I knew about this service before I wouldn’t have wasted my time at the big dealerships. Carlos made the car selling experience stress free and I felt a huge sense of relief as we left. He even told us he would help us when we decide to buy another used car in the near future. I would definitely recommend Carmark Hawaii when selling your car. Carlos and his great team made selling my car an easy, stress free, great experience! I was stressed with having to sell my car since my husband was pcs’g to the mainland with such short notice. It wasn’t worth the shipping costs to ship my vehicle, and didn’t have time to sell my car on my own. Carlos gave me a very fair price for my Toyota forerunner and the process was very professional and I got money for my car that day! Carlos has also helped me since I’ve sold my car with advice in buying future cars. You’re not only able to sell your car when going with Carmark Hawaii, but gain a friendship with someone very experienced in the car business and now you feel you have someone on your side. He took a look at it, test drove it, and made an offer which was fair for its trade in value via KBB. He was friendly, helpful, and courteous. Carlos really helped me out. PCSing to the mainland and not wanting to ship my car, I searched both Unilocal and Google, with Carmark being the first option. I contacted Marcus, who was willing to see me same day. I met up with him, he looked over the car, went for a test drive, he ran a diagnostic on my engine light and showed me the readout. He explained everything he was doing, looking for, and what his discrepencies were. Found out my car originated in NY and shipped to HI. So after brief negotiations, he offered a very fair price and wrote out the check after signing over the title. After all this, he even gave me a ride home, since I live relatively close by.
I was able to make my flight RIGHT on time. I didn’t have any dillusion of the value of my car. KBB is a good reference, but in the end, the condition of the car, estimation of the condition of the engine and foresight of problems all play in to the pricing, and again, he was very fair. I highly recommend Carmark HI if you’re selling your car in good condition.

Having to move back to the mainland on short notice is no picnic, especially when deciding whether to ship or to sell your car.
Fortunately, I found out about Carmark via Google and Unilocal searches. Carlos, the owner & manager, was very professional and trustworthy in his deal with me and my fiancé. Ideally, we would have liked Carlos to have bought our car for the amount owed on our loan. Realistically, Carlos gave us a fair deal with no headaches. It’s no wonder that he’s been in business for over 20 years!
We appreciated his well spoken, straight forward approach, as well as the free ride back to our apartment that he personally provided for us.

When we left the island, we decided at the last minute not to bring our Jetta. We got a quote from Carmark as well as the VW dealer and another used car buyer. Carmark’s price was overall the best and Carlos was very accommodating and easy to work with. We made the decision to sell to him on Thursday and signed off the car Friday morning. He was even willing to negotiate a rental car into the deal. While we likely could have gotten a couple thousand more if we had time to sell it privately, we didn’t have that luxury and this worked out really well for our situation

I was not happy after talking with Carmark. Here is my particular experience:
1. Carkmark made an offer $ 6,000 below Kelly Blue Book Dealer Trade-​In Value.
2. Did not need to see the car in person and did not bother to ask for important options on the car
3. Was very defensive about why the offer was so low. «Dealers use a different blue book to assess the value» «You’re not going to get much more because we can go to the auction house and find cheaper cars» «You should have leased a car to begin with if you wanted to save your money»
I understand that the offer will be lower because this is a very convenient and quick way to sell a car. But it didn’t sit well with me when they didn’t bother to inspect the car in person and after having to listen to all of their excuses as to why I couldn’t get more for the car.
My advice: shop around. Other Hawaii dealers buy cars outright (search the web and call around). I ended up getting an offer for more than KBB value for my car at another dealer.

Im in the military, and saw an opportunity to sell my wife’s vehicle quick, after finding out I was being relocated.
This «service» felt sleazy from the start. If it seems too good to be true, then it probably is. He wanted to give me half of the Kelly blue book value because «there is a second kelly blue book, only available to dealers». And this is where the actual value of your vehicle is shown.
This guy told me he started this business for military personnel. I speculate, because we are the most common people that need to sell cars fast before we leave the island. It seemed like he was using this «desperation» to try to scare my wife and I into selling him our car for a bogus price.
In my experience, he lied to us and tried to intimidate us for monetary gain. Bad business.
