Working with computers has definitely put a strain on my eyesight, I never had a problem before and wasn’t really serious about getting them checked. But when blurred visions and dizziness takes a factor what else is there left to do. Luckily for me I live right up the road from this gem and decided to walk in on a Saturday.
I was in luck, Patti and Daryl greeted me and my son as we walked in. And I asked if they accept walk-in’s. They told me to sign in and gave me an estimated time for my appointment. They were very friendly and accommodating since I had my son with me. They told me to take a seat and wait or I could walk around and they will give me a call when optometrist will be ready to see me. I opt to just wait because it was hot and I did not have the energy to drag my son around with me. The place is very clean and spacious and lots of glasses to try on. Patti caught a glimpse of me and my wondering eyes and she told me to try them on. hehe. Very observant and super friendly staff. Daryl was with another customer teaching her about wifi and how to use it and that gesture was very nice to see.
I probably waited less than half an hour to be seen. The optometrist and her assistants office is located in the back. My son and I went in and did the standard test and did more tests with the optometrist, sorry can’t remember her name but she was very nice and had good bedside manners. She explained what’s going on with my eyesight and having glasses with be like magic, no more squinting eyes and trying to make out words from afar.
Once my exam was done, I got to choose my frames and lens. I choose the clear no glare lens which comes with a 2 year warranty. The prices were good, total was $ 360 and insurance coverage was $ 130, oh yeah forgot to mention, my frames were Ray Ban so that cost a little bit more. But they have all kinds of brands for frames, COACH, Burberry, Oakley, etc.
Overall the experience was great, if you have never had glasses before or never had an eye exam you should really consider coming here. They treat you very nicely and give you all the information that you need. I got my glasses in a week and they fit perfectly and also got a $ 25 gift card for future purchases and a cloth, Daryl gave me (2) since I couldn’t make up my mind on the color :)

My little family of 6 got the exams and frames there. Mind you, I had kids running around and they never once gave me the «stink» eye lol.

Payed to get contacts and the Dr gave me wrong script for trial and told me they would order the right scripts in a week. I waited a week and I was told that they forgot to order the correct contacts and I should call back a week later. When I called they said they lost the contacts and would call me back by the next day. A week later I called back and they still had no information for me. Optical Paradise is okay to go to for glasses but I would not go there for contacts.

Best eyeglasses shop hands down! Friendly service from Chris, Darrell, and Patti. The shop is very clean and has a great selection, especially the Oakley and other designer brands. They are very prompt in calling you when your order is in and they always strive to ensure the best in customer satisfaction. They accept VSP and other vision insurance and their prices are extremely competitive. Avoid big box places like Lenscrafters and go to this long-​time family owned business in Aiea

Excellent service here! Darrell made sure I got the right sunglasses that fit my style. We went through almost a dozen before I found the best one for me and my budget.
I highly recommend this locally owned shop!

I have been coming here for the past 5 years and they have always been so polite & helpful. What I really love about this place is that it is an all-​in-​one place. You are able to walk-​in half blind, get an eye appointment & 10 minutes later have the perfect contacts on. Then you are able to look around the office at a wide selection of glasses that will be ready in a week or so.
Compared to other doctor’s offices, they are on point with taking you in on time or even earlier. That’s a Plus! My last appointment I came in with my mother & she wanted to get reading glasses. They took her in right after me & we both got our eye exams done. I love how nice they are. They even worked out all of our insurance things out before our exams were done & our bill was ready right away.
THEY ONLY TAKE CASH OR CARD, NO CHECKS.
This office is stocked with contacts so I was able to take home 6 months worth of contacts that day. Whenever I do run out, I just call in my order & can pick it up right away.
They recently changed the optometrist here but she is very good & patient.
Every visit is always a very enjoyable experience. They have great customer service & are always welcoming.

Honesty is the best policy… I had to pick up my first set of glasses in a while, I went shopping around in various places and hard time deciding what frame to pick up. While going to other places, the sales clerk would tell me all glasses looked good on me, I couldn’t stand that. When trying on a pair of glasses here, the optician straight up told me those frames don’t match my face shape. I ended up picking a frame that i liked, and the rest is history.

I totally understand why this business gets 5 stars from all who review it! The staff of Paradise Optical are the most down to earth, caring eyewear professionals imaginable. You will not be rushed or feel like a number in this store. They will work patiently with you to find the perfect frames for your face. Terrific service, selection, and value. I drive from town to purchase my lenses here!

If I were a baseball player, today I batted a hundred. If I were a bowler, I had a perfect game. If I were a golfer, I had a hole in one… Today was my perfect day and I found the perfect Optical shop
My car has a difficult time going past the airport viaduct but lately, for one reason or another, I’ve been on journeys westward. Today is one of those days.
I start out to the Aiea area to visit one of my clients. After my business was over, I stopped in at one of my favorite wine shops (this was my first bonus of the day) and then I took a chance and stopped in at Paradise Optical.
I have been in the market for new lenses on my old frames. Almost everyone (Sears, Lens Crafters,…) turned me away saying it was not worth it or they could not do it. Imagine that! But not Paradise. I asked «do you replace lenses?» and Darrell says «Yep, we do…». I say «Okay, wait a sec, let me run to my car and get the frames for you to look at»… .got the frames… Darrell says «Yep we can do it, now then, what type of lens…»
Darrell (I think he’s one of the owners) was so very polite and helpful and quite a salesperson as I walked out with a NEW set of glasses… in addition to replacing the lens on of of the old frames. I got a discount too. Now that I’m part of their «family».
So– to the big stores… Lenscrafters, Sears, etc…” You can be the Goliath but you can’t stop David“

Remember the small bookstore in «You Got Mail,» w/​Meg Ryan & Tom Hanks? If you do, then this is what Paradise Optical reminds me of…‘the little shop around the corner.’ If you don’t, then you should make the drive to Waimalu to feel for yourself.
A modern, quaint little shop stocked with humble owners (2 brothers — Chris & Darrell), great frames, and wonderful, hard to find authentic caring, customer service…‘they want to, not because they have to.”
I’ll even stop in to get my frames adjusted and just to say «Hi» So comfortable, I enjoy chatting & laughing with them, that I have to tell myself, «time to leave!»

Chris and Darrell have been in business for decades in Hawaii. Family owned business, these guys know their customers. Paradise Optical Hawaii has plenty of designer frames from Oakley, Vera Bradley, Juicy Couture, Roxy, Coach, Seiko, Fendi, Tura, XOXO, Morel, Quiksilver, and Wyley X…
Great discounts and excellent customer service! They were able to custom fit my frames around my big olé noggin!
I’d say they sell the best for designer eyewear and frames in Hawaii… Wiley X is also a very popular model that military guys like so they give Military discounts… Tons of people I know that live in town drive all the way to Aiea when they need glasses or accessories… Buy local, stay local…
