Allsafe Self Storage Alameda

Allsafe self storage lists itself on several sites as providing services that they do not and you don’t find out until you show up and their dismissive attitude when asked is «why would you want that?».
I made the mistake of battling traffic under the assumption that the information online was factual.

I rented a small unit here for 8 months. Everything was professional and courteous.
However, an incident occurred that I felt I needed to warn people about. A friend with a pickup truck came to help me move some things. Apparently we did not leave proper clearance in drive space and we needed to move truck. However, instead of asking us, he told us in a harsh way.
Ok. So we start moving things out of the way to make space to move truck, and Jim goes into a crazy rant, targeting my friend — calling him names, moving toward him aggressively and threatening to vacate me. At no time did we argue with or refuse to move. He wanted to pick a fight.
I believe Jim is dangerous. The fact that he’s always been nice to me (and i am white) and got so aggressively hostile to my friend (who is Latino and covered in tattoos) suggests to me that he is racist.
I reported this incident to the owners a few days ago, and have not yet gotten a response. What happened was beyond unprofessional.

This place is the best… hands down! I’ve rented storage units everywhere and Jim and Gloria make the difference at Allsafe. Always clean, always watched over and secure, and good prices. Even have power in units so you can have a light on or listen to radio while you’re at your unit. If you’re getting a unit in the area, it’s a no-​brainer to come here.

Gloria and Jim were by far, the nicest and easiest people to do business with. I’m very thankful to have met them in my search for storage space for the school I represent. As the executive VP of the school PTA I had the task of finding a nice, clean storage facility. I visited 7 different locations in Alameda and San Leandro. The personalities of the people I met were friendly for the most part. What set AllSafe apart from the others was their «family style» business environment. While all the other storage facilities maintained a certain level of professionalism, Gloria and Jim out-​shined them all. I choose to do business with people I like and that’s why AllSafe got our business. Thanks AllSafe! Lum School appreciates your generosity.
