Brad Jones graduated California State University Fresno in 1996 and began his professional career outside of the construction industry. Realizing his passion for building and creating «something out of nothing» he began working with Jason Greene Construction in Santa Cruz. «Jason was and still is my mentor in the construction field», says Brad. «Construction and design are my passion, not something I have to do. It’s what gets me up and moving every morning.»

We’ve used Brad for two projects, one medium-​sized (front porch stairs replacement) and one major (a complete deck replacement).
His pricing is competitive, he keeps his appointments, and he does good work. He is knowledgeable about the permit and inspection process in Alameda. He communicates well through whatever medium you prefer (we moved from phone to email to text over the course of the projects).
Most importantly, though, is that he is incredibly easy to get along with. This might sound like a minor thing but surprises arise in every construction project, especially those on older homes, and Brad dealt with all of these things efficiently and with a minimum of fuss.
One example was on our porch project. At the initial bid, we both agreed that the stringers looked ok and could remain in place. I expressed some concern, though, that they would turn out to be in bad shape once the steps were removed, but Brad assured me that if they did, he would just replace them at no additional cost.
It then turned out, some time later, that he removed the steps and saw the stringers were indeed rotting on their hidden surfaces. Brad came to me and said ‘yeah, so, these need to be replaced’ and he went ahead and did the work for free, like he had said.
It might sound like a little thing but somebody who does what they say they will is sometimes hard to find. Brad has been that person for our projects, and when it’s time for another project at our house, he will be the first person we call.

After another contractor royally messed up our bathroom (faulty plumbing, fake floorboards ect) I called Brad based on his 5 star review on Unilocal.We needed help ASAP. Brad came by the same day and gave us a free consult on what we needed to do to fix the work and complete the job and was totally honest about his availability and recommended a few other contractors and plumbers who were available to help immediately. He gave us ideas for the different options we could take (full repair, partial repair for now, full remodel later etc) and was very honest and thoughtful. He even crawled under the house with my husband to give us his expert opinion on the floorboards (knowing we likely wouldn’t use him for the work given his availability and our immediate need). It is so nice in this day and age that someone takes the time to be helpful, even when they don’t expect to get your business… but given how helpful and honest Brad was, I’m sure we will call him in the future!

I went with Brad T Jones Construction for a full bathroom remodel and it turned out fantastic. I give Brad the highest possible rating for a number of reasons:
— His bid was very competitive.
— He walked through many creative ideas to ensure the space was fully utilized, including adding a bench behind the bathtub.
— Brad makes sure you’re satisfied with the job. There was a mishap with the our medicine cabinet not matching a vanity I purchased (totally not his fault) but he found someone to refinish the cabinet so it matched.
— He’s responsive. Text or call — he’ll get back to you if/​when you have questions. This is reassuring during a remodel.
— Perhaps most importantly, he’s someone you can trust. Inviting someone into your home takes a leap of faith but there’s no need to worry with Brad.
I wouldn’t hesitate to go with him for remodels or construction.

Mr. Jones has handled two projects at my house. Both were done on time, on budget, and with a high level of professionalism. Mr. Jones did a good job of explaining what he was going to do and was attentive to the finishing details. I would recommend Mr. Jones’ company for most any residential construction or remodelling project. The fact that Mr. Jones provided a competitive quote and kept the project at his original quote.
