We specialize in cleaning, repairing and selling window coverings. Whether your window coverings need a little TLC or need to be replaced we can help.

We also have window cleaning. Several of our customers thought their broken window coverings needed to be replaced. However with our magic touch they were fixed and cleaned to have them say, «They look like new». But if your coverings are beyond repair we have a full line of covering that you can select new ones.

History

Established in 1995.

Our family owned business was started in 1995 in Alameda. Since we live in Alameda and wanted to start a business that would help the community to solve one factor to have a beautiful home. We selected window coverings! We also clean windows.

If you ever tried to clean your window covering and found out, as we did, it was so hard to clean and it was so very time consuming. And then what was even worse you were so dissatisfied because they just didn’t look good after all your efforts. This is how we decided to offer ultrasonic cleaning to resolve this problem.

After we received so many comments from our customers on how happy they were with the final product we knew that we selected the right path for us. We can fix and clean most window coverings made. However, if the covering can’t be fixed we have new coverings available to select.

We are the official Warranty Repair Dealer for 3 Day Blinds.

I was born in the Philippines during World War II. I graduated from Marine Engineering and was a Reserved Officer in the Philippine Navy. My family was in politics; however my father encouraged me to join the US Navy to keep me alive. So, I joined the US Navy and came to America. I wanted to become an US citizen and to be qualified it took me 10 years. And I am very happy to announce that I was successful.

I believe in education and the ability to always take advantage of knowledge, therefore, I wanted to learn many different disciplines and before I knew it I ended up with nine different degrees. By having all these degrees it qualified me to open our current business of Bubble Magic in Alameda.

In 1983 I meet my wife, Laura, and was married in 1990. We have five children and 10 grandchildren together. We are both active in church. Also I am very active in the Alameda Lion Breakfast Club.

Incomparable Ernie! He’s sweet, funny, loves to joke… but wow, does he get the work done as promised! My pleated fabric shades had not been cleaned in over twenty – yup, embarrassing but true! – years. OH!! The dust, the grime, the dog odor, the incense smoke aroma, etc etc. Ernie and his colleague Nestor came up to the house, collected all eight sets of shades, and returned them sparkling clean (so they were white? not grey!!!) and fresh-​smelling!!!
The prices? Well, I’d previously contacted a fellow whose charge is $ 4.25 per square foot to clean the shades in your home. For that price, with the amount of square feet I had, I could have bought TWO brand NEW sets of shades.
Bubble Magic does window treatments as well – that’s my next project for Ernie.

This place rocks! Don’t be fooled by the unusual name, I love Bubble Magic. I had purchased honeycomb style mini blinds from JC Penney 7 years ago. They were manufactured by Hunter Douglas. One broke and neither JCP or Hunter would repair. I went to Bubble Magic and they fixed it in ONE day. Completely restrung the blind. Very professional, friendly, a place you want to do business with. Highly recommend!

I’m torn!
On one hand, the cleaned my Hunter Douglas Duette Shades beautifully for a very reasonable price. So I’m pleased.
On the other hand, they quoted me one price on the phone, then tried to charge me more when I dropped off my blinds. I called the phone number again (because the phone-​guy seemed to be off-​site) and he confirmed the lower price. But then when I picked up my blinds, they tried to charge the higher price again. I called the phone-​guy again and got the lower price once more. Kind of a hassle!
But the blinds, they are very clean, and who else was going to make that happen? Four stars! But be prepared to haggle.

this guy is amazing! he came as soon as possible and did a fantastic job on all of our blinds! he could give a quote right over the phone based on the size of our mini-​blinds and all of the quotes were accurate. he did a fantastic job on cleaning them. was very very careful re-​installing them and even made some minor repairs for us while doing the work. his prices i felt were extremely reasonable and the blinds were back in our home the next mornings. also ernie is one of the nicest guys you could possibly ask for to do any work in your home. we are delighted to have found him in the yellow pages and also got a recommendation on him b4 hand from a shade company in alameda. 5-​star service all around!

I have apartments that i manage and had five blinds that are about 15 years old. They were dirty and one of the ladders, the part that keeps the horizontal slats apart was broken. So what are my options. 1. Do nothing, hope the next resident doesn’t notice. 2. Clean them myself (which is a real pain). 3. Measure, order and replace blinds (time consuming and expensive. 4. Call Ernie and «Bubble Magic». The correct answer is #4 Call Ernie. He gave me an accurate quote on the phone, met me at the assigned hour, returned the blinds repaired and cleaned as promised, and delivered and re-​installed on time. He also provides an attitude of happiness and ease. A pleasure to work with, look not further. Thanks.

They replaced the broken cords and cleaned my blinds in 24 hours. Very few businesses will repair blinds these days — even though mine had a «lifetime warranty» from another company, that company said they had discontinued the line, etc etc. If you are interested in getting things repaired and refurbished — this is the place to call.

We had some pretty nasty 2″ faux wood blinds cleaned this week. Ernie was super sweet and efficient. He took all of our blinds down, cleaned them, and delivered and rehung them within 24 hours. It was obvious that he takes pride in his work and values his customers. There is no way that we would have been able to get the blinds looking brand new like Ernie did. Don’t hesitate to give him a call!

Thank you, Unilocalers, for recommending Bubble Magic Ultrasonic. We have Hunter Douglas silhouette shades that had some black mildew. We didn’t know who to call, but are very pleased with Bubble Magic. We didn’t know how to remove the shades and Ernie will make a house call for $ 30 to remove and reinstall the shades. They look great now with no trace of mildew. Cost was very reasonable: $ 40 for shades under 3 feet wide and $ 45 for shades over 3 feet wide. They were picked up on Monday and reinstalled today (Thursday).

I am EXTREMELY SURPRISED that so many people have given this business such an outstanding review. My wife and I are EXTREMELY disappointed in the service this guy provided. He came out to take the blinds down, which he was an HOUR late for because he had forgotten the appointment. Things got a little more shady when he asked us to pay in cash, which was a little head scratching. THEN he made an 830 am appointment for Friday morning to come re-​install our blinds. My wife was waiting for him, and she had a meeting to get to. He didn’t show up on time, and had to be called THREE times just to get him out of his shop. When she finally did get Ernie on the phone, he gave her an «I will be there in 15 minutes» and that was at 8:45 am, and he hadn’t even left the shop yet! I don’t know about anyone else, but this is not my idea of five star service, and I would NEVER recommend Ernie’s business to anyone looking for professional work done.

I discoverer black mold growing on the back of my 4 floor to ceiling Silhouette blinds, and called Hunter Douglas to find out how they might be saved. They recommended the injection extraction method, and referred me to a professional sounding person who gave me a very expensive estimate. Even though Hunter Douglas did not recommend ultrasonic, I did some research on the Internet, and found that this method is commonly used on Silhouettes, and I wanted the top assembly cleaned because I wanted any hidden mold spores removed if possible. I was warned by everyone I talked to that they might not be able to get them completely cleaned. Also, Silhouettes can pucker or come unglued during the cleaning process, so it was with some trepidation that I drove out to Bubble Magic in Albany, based on the Unilocal reviews and the best estimate. I am very happy with my blinds that once again look great, with all black mold stains gone.

Wish I’d done this ages ago! We were delighted with the results, the service, and the reasonable cost! It was proving impossible to really clean our minibliinds, especially the areas adjacent to the vertical cords, even with a specialized little microfiber-​covered cleaning gadget from the hardware store. I finally called Alameda Shade Shop, where we’d bought them, and they recommended Bubble Magic. Ernie came out in the morning, took them all down, carefully numbering them, and took them back to his shop. As agreed, he returned around 4 p.m. with blinds so clean they looked brand-​new! He reinstalled them, upstairs and down, in about 10 miinutes. Highly recommend him!

I called Ernie to fix the broken cord on my living room blinds. He is extremely punctional and friendly. You can’t help but like him. He fixed the cord but when he re-​hung the blinds they didn’t close right. He came out to my home 2 additional times until we were satisfied. I would recommend him.

This place is the best if you’re looking a place to clean your dirty Hunter Douglas Silhouette blinds. We had the most dirtest blinds that had dirt, mold and who knows what else (very embarrassing…) They were able to get ALL of the dirt out. It was work $ 30 (small) and $ 35 (large blind) !! I truly recommend this place and won’t hesitate to go back.

This place was the only reasonable cleaning/​repair place I could find near Oakland. They only charge $ 13 to clean your blinds, and once finished your blinds are like new. I was quite impressed. If you need repairs, it’s only $ 15 per string for restringing, or $ 15 for the small broken mechanisms inside. It’s a mom and pop place, not fancy, but gets things done to standard. I’ll be going here from now on instead of Costco and those overrated blind stores which are all fluff and no substance. I noticed they sell window treatments, too, but haven’t tried those. One drawback is they’re not open on weekends, but the owner is pretty good about returning calls.
