Harbor Bay Security

After visiting Harbor Bay Isle over the weekend, I was left feeling disgusted. My friend and his partner were looking for areas in the Oakland area to purchase a home and our Realtor had referred a couple of potential properties in the Harbor Bay neighborhood. My friend an I, along with our Realtor decided to check the area out for potential buys. After driving through and viewing a few properties, we noticed we were being followed by a white truck. When we stopped to take a look at some of the waterfront properties and the views from the park alongside Sea View Parkway, the white truck pulled up behind us and two security officers stepped out. One of the guards approached us and said, «Are you guys lost? You look suspicious». He then proceeded to question us about where we were from, where we lived, ect. He also mentioned that we had entered the community (in heavy traffic) going 40mph which grew initial «suspicions». Since I work in Traffic Law, I knew that this could not be determined without a lidar or radar gun and furthermore was inappropriate for a non-​police officer to be enforcing or alleging such traffic violations. We then got back in our vehicle and began to tour the south end of the neighborhood but once again noticed we were being followed by the security guards. They followed us until we eventually made our way towards the exit. It was extremely offensive and out of line to be questioned in the manner we were. Especially because we did absolutely nothing wrong nor did we exhibit «suspicious» behavior. A sad reminder of the world we live in and ignorance in the land of the «free».

My husband lost his wallet and a kind neighbor turned it in to harbor bay security.
Thank you, when I called they immediately brought the wallet to our house. Our address listed is in hawaii so they did not know where we lived.

I know I’m blessed to live in such a safe environment, but it’s definitely NOT because of these guys.
They take forever to respond and even if they are in the area, it will take them 10 minutes to find your place. Plus, I always see them just sitting on the side of the road not doing SHIT. Its either that or another patrol car is pulled up alongside them and talking.
I rather call Alameda police.

These five stars are for the guards who showed up in two trucks within minutes today possibly diffusing a situation and potentially preventing someone from getting seriously hurt. It’s rare you hear profane yelling and screaming here out on Fantasy Island because «Da Planes, Boss, Da Planes!» drown out every iota of sound constantly.
However, as I was quietly doing some research near my back door, I could here it loud and clear. There was some dude in his late teens or early twenties screaming and cursing at the top of his lungs at someone about a half mile away across the lagoon in my backyard. They (turns out it was a young man and young woman) made it down through the pampas grass to the sidewalk by the lagoon and screaming continued all coming from the dude from what I could hear. He even raised his hand at the girl like he was about to hit her when they were across from my house.
That’s when I called HBS since the couple was headed towards the end of the roadway where I’ve seen the security trucks parked from time to time. It’s also where the line gets drawn between where HBS covers and the beginning of Allied Barton’s Business Park Security takes over.
I don’t know what went down but when I looked out front and down the road, there were two HBS trucks parked right where the couple would have most likely ended up. The officers were talking to people. I don’t know what went down, if anything, but the immediate response was amazing. Kudos, guys!

When I write my check each month to pay our HOA dues and fees, Harbor Bay Security is the ONLY visible, tangible benefit I see each day that is worth it! I don’t expect them to ever «take a bullet for me», but for all the vacation watches, jumping car batteries, taking away dead rodents, and any other «crap» that they are willing to do for homeowners that ask, they are well worth having and I am very pleased we have them here. THANKS!
