History

Established in 1975.

I originally entered into a partnership with a friend in San Francisco; we worked all over the Greater Bay Area. Eventually I settled in Alameda, became a sole proprietor, and opened my first Alameda studio at the corner of Lincoln and Grand. I moved the studio to the current location in the mid– Nineties. I started out doing mostly family and children’s portraits, did a fair amount of boudoir and glamor shots back in the day, then branched out into weddings, and now do a fair amount of commercial and advertising work as well. I now find myself coming full circle back to glamor photography with my newest product, «Bold And Beautiful Women», distinctive portraits of exceptional women. Every woman is beautiful in her own light, but what qualifies a woman as bold and exceptional? Call me and I’ll tell you. Are you the one?

Meet the Business Owner

Al W.

Business Owner

I’ve been a professional photographer for over 35 years in Alameda in the Eastbay. I credit my father, an avid home movie maker, with piquing my interest in photography as a young kid. My heroes are the old photogs from Hollywood’s Golden Era, that captured all the marvelous stills of actors in the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. I love applying their techniques to my current glamor portraits, «Bold And Beautiful Women».

I welcome the challenge that children can be– I love it when a parent tells me «Wow, no one has ever been able to capture my child like that!»

I am very proud of my work with a local dance group– they are all very creative, and I enjoy creating art from their performances.

I have been blessed by good fortune in my life, and know that there are many people in my community that don’t have the opportunities I have, so I share my good fortune with others through donating my time and skills to local schools and worthy non-profits. When you support me, you support them. Thanks!
