Took my evening walk down Solano Avenue to get my three miles of late day activity. Very quiet this evening and yet noticed at about 6PM that something was stirring … had to look in. Well … shades of an earlier era from Church Street or an alley off Castro or possibly along Valencia Street … even a kind of North Beach feel to it mixed in. So it’s not a big surprise that I’m suddenly in the company of two new friends: Cassandra and Stevie. Lots of hand made jewelry and quizzical little things. This is an artists delight yet from a veritable cross section of artists. More than jewelry. On my subsequent visits I intend to find out who makes the cards, the porcelain wedding slippers, the little lacy shades or arbors. Too many soaps in too many scents. I like to explore the artists and then explore their evolving artwork. We had a long and wonderful conversation. Just right. I’ll be back too often for my pocketbook, but barely often enough to savor the next wonderful conversation. A rare five star experience. Best experienced when you’ve got a bit of time to explore but don’t want to go all the way to a museum. This one is tiny, easy to access, much to explore, and you can even take a bit home for a reasonable price.

Adorable darling little store on Solano. It’s not on the main stretch so easy to miss, but definitely worth visiting. A great store to shop for that hard to shop for friend … the one that would disown you if you buy her anything from Pottery Barn or Gap. They’ve got a great collection of jewelry, antiques and art … and while the store is small and quaint, it’s packed full of treasures. It’s a labor of love and the type of place where every piece has a story.

What a cute store!!! They have great unique gifts. I found a lot of jewelry that I loved. I told my husband about it and he got me a gift certificate from there. I can hardly wait to go shopping! The owner was very sweet but her husband if sooooo funny. Just go by to take a look. It’s between Barney’s burgers and Subway on Solano Ave. Lot’s of things to look at.

Rose Nouveau is BLOOMING with unique & diverse, handmade jewelry, accessories for the home, toiletries, & decodent, tasty treats! The chocolate covered apples are TODIEFOR! The owner/jewelry maker certainly has something to be proud of in historic, downtown Vallejo. Visit Rose Nouveau on a Saturday & you can also enjoy Vallejo’s Farmers’ Market which takes place just outside Rose Nouveau’s door. Enjoy!
