Love the place. There are few great Thai places downtown Albany, and another, well, let’s say it’s nice if it is just as good. It’s not just as good, but even a little better. It has a really neat atmosphere compared to the others. They are a little pricier, but that’s because of the quality and probably them being able to serve alcohol. Every plate I’ve had tastes very fresh, and what I mean by that is, it doesn’t taste like it was previously frozen, like some of the other places. Also, the presentation is spectacular. Even the spring roll presentation was just simply brilliant. Finally, a Thai place I can take my customers to, and not have to apologize for the bohemian atmosphere, like some of the other places. Not that those places are bad, they are very tasty, but I’m sure you get my drift.

Delightful little place on Lark Street. Have been searching for good Thai food in the Capital Region & this is the best I’ve had yet! Red curry with chicken was authentic & flavorful — the jasmine rice was perfect. A gem!

The service was fine. The miso soup was good. The décor is lovely. Other than that… DH got chicken teriyaki. The chicken was overcooked, the veggies were almost raw, and the entire dish was cold. And it came out last, so it should have been hot. DD got shrimp tempura. Shrimp was good, but she didn’t care for the veggies, which made her nauseous. My house salad was difficult to eat, as it was meslun with fruit and cuke slices and a thick peanut sauce. My spring rolls were just, um, weird. Needless to say, we were all disappointed.

I don’t want to live in a world where I can get unagi-don and som tum at the same restaurant. But as odd as the menu is, it explains Albany in a certain way. A land where diners and owners aren’t quite sure what the other really wants, and taking risks is seen as too big a risk.

Do not go. The only thing Asian about this place are the waitresses. Definitely not worth the money. The food is insanely sweet and unbalanced.

So unique and so good! This in not your average PF Changs. Lots of options to choose from with different preference for how spicy you like it! Just a warning that when they say spicy… It is REALLY spicy. My mouth was on fuego so I would prob take it down a notch next time. We ordered the Aloha and avocado mango spring roles. Can’t wait to come back!

I recently ordered Pad Tai and Pad See Ew for takeout. The restaurant itself is very clean and welcoming; the hostess was efficient. We thought the food was fine. The Pad Tai was a bit dry and lacking in flavor, but the Pad See Ew was much better. The peanut dressing for the salad was rich and thick. It’s great to have a new restaurant on Lark St.

A cozy little place with delicious food ! We ordered Vietnamese spring rolls, fried rice and drunken noodles — our usual thai favorites. The food was very beautifully presented and taste was on the spot ! The service was attentive and very friendly. worth a visit !

Stopped at Tapasia while visiting my daughter in Albany and i have to say it is the place to go! From its rustic charm to the great dishes and especially the mango avocado egg roll it’s winner! Price are great and so are the portions. Owner Natalie and her staff were great and I totally look forward to coming back.

This new restaurant on Lark Street is the real deal. Inside you’ll find Asian fusion in a lovely atmosphere. Both times I was here I had a curry dish. I tried the massaman curry and red curry. Both were excellent, but the massaman was more unique. It is homemade and cooked with cinnamon(you’ll find cinnamon sticks in your dish). I loved the combination of something sweet with slow rising spice. There is a wide variety of protein choices including chicken, meatless chicken, veggies, tofu, beef, shrimp and squid. I had the chicken and veggies. The chicken was standard, but the veggies were a nice surprise. They were plentiful and had such a variety, including squash, peppers, mushrooms, purple fingerling potatoes and carrots. My fiancé had the meatless chicken and was impressed with the texture. He compared the taste to that of seitan. We ordered carryout on one of our visits and everything was packaged beautifully. For example, our spring rolls were placed on a bed of rice noodles and lettuce. The extra attention to detail made it feel like a dining out experience at home.

Love this place. Super friendly staff. Always greeted with a nice hello. The food is very good. Authentic. Nice to see something different in a city with a lot of the same. Some familiar dishes. But some very good unfamiliar plates. A nice selection of sake, beer, and wine. Some dishes to try are fried ice cream, unagi udon, takoyoki, crab rangoons, wasabi shumi to name a few. Many others. I’m having fun trying them one by one.

Fabulous little asian fusion/tapas place in the spot where Flow From The Garden used to be. Delicious food, excellent service; good place to eat alone, or bring friends. The inside is a little sparse, but i think it adds to the intimate café atmosphere. More importantly: a tapas restaurant that understands what tapas are! Which is pretty rare around these parts. I had the chicken kara-age, vegetable fried rice, mushroom steamed bun, and mango sticky rice – that ended up being a bit much for one person(ended up taking half of the fried rice home), but each dish was delicious, and if i did it over again, i can’t think of anything i would want to eliminate from the experience(so i’ll have leftovers. That’s okay). I’m sad to see FFTG go, but i’m happy there’s something awesome is in it’s place.

This restaurant was recommended by someone who lives nearby. It’s a small, charming place with a very extensive menu. We had edamame, avocado and mango egg rolls, and pineapple fried rice. We split a coconut crème brûlée for dessert. Everything was really delicious. We also had hot sake, which was a perfect accompaniment. The prices are very reasonable. The only downside is parking. We had to park in the Trinity Church lot for $ 5, a couple of blocks away.

This place is great! We ordered a Vietnamese spring roll for a starter. The house sauce that it’s plated with was delicious. For dinner we ordered the Pad Kra Prow which was awesomely spicy and flavorful, and the Tom Yum Fried Rice. The rice was also very tasty but does have a strong lemongrass flavor so make sure you’re into that if you choose to order this dish. Throughout the meal, the service was attentive. They genuinely seemed to care if we were enjoying our experience. I can’t wait to go back and try other things on the extensive menu! Minor note: it can get a bit chilly if you’re seated by the door in the winter so dress accordingly.

WOW!!! Totally awesome and surprising. This is the first true gem I’ve found in Albany since coming to the Capital Region a couple of years ago All dishes had a Thai freshness(reflecting the chef’s origins) with unique tasty twists. Edamame with garlic, pineapple fried rice with raisins, fried dumplings with a homemade — delicious– dipping sauce. And let’s not forget the plate of skewered donuts sitting atop swirls of chocolate with blackberry crowned strawberries in the corners. We will be back — and soon!

I love this place! Everything that I’ve tried has been amazing. I recommend the Unagi dinner dish… soooo good(I recommend to share this dish because it’s very filling)! Also I recommend the Takoyaki(octopus balls) appetizer. The spiciness of the Thai dishes are on point…(medium is very spicy, authentic). The wait staff is very friendly and the food has always come in a timely manner. The inside of the place is vey welcoming and cozy. I love the atmosphere. Perfect place to share a bunch of dishes with friends. And they have sake, wine and beer! I’m absolutely coming back here! :-)

Cute new little spot on lark street. They offer a very extensive menu mostly consisting of Thai and Vietnamese fare. The menu includes small a plates(aka appetizers) soups, rice dishes, noodle dishes. We came while this place was still relatively new and for being so young we had a great experience. They offer wine and beer but when we came the selection was still relatively limited. The interior is small but quite cozy with a small fireplace. I can see the seats near the door being a bit cold in the winter months. We started with the avocado and Mango rolls, crab rangoons and the chicken bun to share and decided to continue family style dining with pineapple fried rice and pad Thai. The avocado/mango rolls where delicious! The crab rangoons were just what you’d expect but quite good as well. The chicken bun wasn’t really worth while. The pad Thai was delicious! It was a bit sweeter than usual but not in a bad way or excessively so. The noodles were thinner than I’m used to but definitely worked. They offer a royal pad thai option for $ 3 extra but it seemed too intense for us. The pineapple fried rice was interesting– the rice itself was very good but the pineapple didn’t taste like anything– at all. It was a bit strange so I wouldn’t get it again. For dessert I had the lychee ice cream which was delicious.

Great new place on Lark St. There’s already a lot of Asian food in Albany, but this little gem is something very different. The portions were a good size and it’s easy to go overboard on ordering because of the delicious options for every course you could have. Their Thai coffee was also very good! Definitely will try it again and I’m excited to see where this will go.
