Established in 2000.

. Dr. Greg LoPour was born and raised in Lovington, NM. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1995 having served as President and receiving the Psi Omega Fraternity Award 1992 – 1995. After 5 years as an associate in Dallas, Texas, Dr. LoPour and his wife, Paige, moved to Albuquerque. Co-​owners of Smiles By Design, a Family and Cosmetic Dental Practice, they offers state-​fo-​the-​art technology including an on-​site dental lab, digital radiography, and CEREC one appointment crowns and veneers. Dr. LoPour is passionate about serving the community and his patients through education, treatment options and excellence in dentistry and currently serves as Vice President of the New Mexico Dental Association. He He has been awarded Top Cosmetic Dentist in Albuquerque by ABQ The Magazine 2007, 2008 and 2009 and voted among theTop Dentists in Albuquerque since 2006-​present. He is recognized as America’s Top 100 Dentists 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Dr. Greg LoPour was born and raised in Lovington, NM. He attended Abilene Christian University on full basketball scholarship and received his BS degree in 1990. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1995 having served as President and receiving the Psi Omega Fraternity Award 1992 – 1995. After an associateship in Dallas, Texas, Dr. LoPour and his wife, Paige moved to Albuquerque, NM in1999. Dr. LoPour is passionate about serving the needs of his patients, staff and community. Professionally he continues to hold various elected positions within the dental associations and societies that enhance, improve and educate within Albuquerque and the state of New Mexico. These positions include the Chair of Continuing Education for the ADDS; the Peer Review Committee, the Board of Trustees and the House of Delegates for the NMDA. Most recent, Dr. LoPour currently serves as the Vice President for the New Mexico Dental Association.

Terrible customer service!
Dr. Johnny Montgomery retired and merged his business with Dr. Greg LoPour. What a shame! The Greg LoPour, Montgomery & Gallegos /​Smiles By Design Albuquerque office is fancy with modern furniture, accent walls, «free» refreshments and TVs everywhere. I thought it was really cool until I got their outrageous bill. Even though I had very good dental insurance I had to pay a lot of extra money for a simple cleaning with x-​rays. They will tell you insurance covers the charges and send you on your way, but in a week or two you’ll get a bill in the mail explaining that your insurance doesn’t cover all of the charges.
To make matters worse, they hold your dental records hostage until you pay all their exorbitant fees, which is a HIPAA violation and very unprofessional. After I paid my bill in full I’m still waiting for all of my records. Needless to say, I found a new dentist without the «free» lattes.
If your goal is to be entertained and served refreshments when you visit the dentist this might be the place for you. On the other hand, if your focus is good dentistry at affordable rates you should look elsewhere.

I used to be a real dental phobic. Dr Lopour is the best. Great staff, comfortable waiting area. Have a cup of coffee, and some fresh baked bread while you wait for them to take you to the back.

I had a great experience! Friendly helpful staff. I hadn’t been to a dentist in years and was very nervous. Clean, great service, and very honest. This will be my Dentist as long as I’m in Albuquerque.

The business office staff here is the absolute WORST at customer service. I’ve been a loyal customer of one of the dentists (which I love) but unfortunately dealing with the staff in regards to billing is a complete nightmare. You will find yourself getting bills for services you did not receive. When you call Dr. Lopours office they will accuse you of not wanting to pay your bill and do little to resolve issues. Save yourself the frustration and move on.

Very impressed! I’ve been a dentist enough times to count on one hand so my dental health isn’t spectacular. I decided to try this office based on extensive research (including Unilocal reviews!). The office is beautiful, everyone was extremely friendly and willing to answer any questions.
My cleaning was fantastic, it’s been 4 years since my last so I was fully-​prepared to leave in pain but the hygienist was very good and kept the lecture to a minimum :)
I can’t see any reason Dr. LoPour’s office hasn’t found a long-​time customer in me and this time, I’ll be in more regularly.

I went to Dr. LoPour for an urgent dental event — won’t torture you with the details, but he was able to see me right away and took care of what was happening right there and then. I knew it was going to be good when I spoke with the admin staff on the phone. They were so nice and made me feel like I was among friends. The office itself is easy to get to, plenty of parking. Inside it is very warm and comfortable. The assistants knew their stuff, and explain things as they go so you don’t feel like things are happening to you that you have no control over. Dr. LoPour is a very nice man, and I can see why he has so many stars on Unilocal.He even gave me his cell phone to call him in case I had a complication, and he called me that night to see how I was doing. I’m a big baby when it comes to going to the dentist (even though I do it every six months and so should you!), and I’ve been going back to my dentist in Austin, Texas because I just didn’t want the trauma of finding a new one here in ABQ. That is no longer an issue, though. I think Dr. LoPour is my new guy.

Excellent dental office. The staff is great, The doctor is superb. The office is very beautiful. The staff really tries to make your visit as comfortable and painless as possible. I had a root canal performed here and have nothing but good things to say about the entire process. I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a dentist in the Albuquerque area.

Wife and I have been going to dr LoPour for 8 years! Could not be more satisfied! Preventative care is excellent as well as needed work. During a routine cleaning found a problem that was not easy to recognize and sent to my wife to a specialist before surgery and prevented major complications.

Dr Greg LoPour and his staff are the best of the best in Albuquerque. As a retired Dental Hygienist I researched and interviewed several dentist when I decided it was time to have full mouth reconstrution. After years of having to have my dental work replaced I was thrilled to learn that there was a more permanent solution. I was blown away by his high tech office and the professionalism of his staff. I reviewed before and after pictures and talked extensively with Dr LoPour. Having this work done was one of the best things I have done for myself.

Incredible service and amazing results! Have been to going to LoPour for nearly 10 years and wouldn’t ever consider going anywhere else. They have the most advanced technology to make your visit comfortable. And… the best part… the people. A staff that makes you feel like family. I had a great experience here. First off, the office is conveniently located near my office: you may not experience the same joy depending on where you work. And not only is it close to the work site, but they’ve got lots of easy parking. Win, right there. Not having to drive across town and then fight for parking in order to have them dig at your gums is a good way to start off.
The staff is extremely friendly and cordial. They offer water and coffee, and I just generally felt good about going in to get my teeth cleaned. My X-​rays were painless, and the tech was nice while we were getting them done. When I went to the hygienist she was also nice; I’d like to point out here that the technology in this office was very impressive. There were screen showing what was happening in real time. During the cleaning, I had a before and after shot, and they offered a range of TV channels to watch. Pretty plush.
Dr. LoPour is a really nice guy, a New Mexico native. We chatted, and he made a point that he wants to get to know his patients, and counter-​intuitively, to have them NOT return. His angle is that if he educates you and gives you the tools to manage your mouth, you don’t need him. It was really refreshing to have him be so honest about it. I left here feeling good, and with a very clean mouth. Highly recommend.
