Total Wine & More

I love their selection of wines from all over the place. I always find a new wine to add to my collection. The other liquor selections are amazing as well. I have not heard of some of the labels.

This chain is a rip off! I went in to buy some wine, their prices were about average, but they have several signs buy 6 mix and get 10% off. They win and I win! So bought 6 of the same brand but different vintage.
Went to check out and they said «NO» discount, I asked why as they have signs all over the store stating MIX 6, they said unless it ends in a «7» what does that mean??? The price ends in «7» example 14.97 wouldn’t qualify.
I talked to a manager and the sign is 10 feet away and literally 1 inch X 1 inch You can’t see this! I pointed to the big sign Mix 6 which is 10 feet above the registers and they point out that the fine print which you can’t possibly see state unless it has a «7»
So after discussing this they told me that 95% of the store ends in «7» and the purpose is to not give you a discount or that you are already buzzed and don’t care!!!

Wow! They have a great selection of wine and beer. Naturally. But I really was impressed by their local and domestic craft beer options!
We picked up some decent bourbon, some local beer (requested by a friend back home), vodka for Moscow Mules, alcoholic root beer, and a bottle of local seasonal cider for Christmas.
Really. A lot of good things to choose from!

Take me down to Total Wine city where the wine is red and the beers a’ plenty! Oh, won’t you pleaseeeeee take me homeeeeee!
No kidding, total wine is dangerous. Good dangerous. Coming from holier than thou Utah, a place like Total Wine is deliciously sinful.
There are just so many choices here, it’d make a wine connoisseur blush. Likewise, they have tons of beer — anything from Ballast Point to Angry Orchard to local Marble Brewery. It’s cool.
When I’m in town I’ll usually stop and pick a bottle of wine. I’ll happily come back for more. Prices seem pretty spot on and if your local Giant station isn’t carrying what you’re looking for, chances are Total Wine will.

The super store of wine, spirits, and everything you need related thereto! Quite the adventure strolling the aisles. A great place to sample, explore single beers and individual servings of wine too. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff.

A drunk could get lost in this place and be perfectly happy never finding the way out – cavernous. Thankfully, I was neither lost nor drunk when I entered this warehouse.
Every kind of wine, beer & spirits you could wish for. Quite knowledgeable staff is available to guide you to your favorite bottle or the exit if you’re lost.
I wandered around searching for a particular kind of rum until a friendly staff person showed me the way.
Finally, now I could release the Kracken if only I had some coke. That was the only thing they didn’t have — a 2 liter bottle of coke, must be a low request item. My kingdom for a… whatever. Great selection, I’ll be back.

I love both Total Wine locations, however this one has a genius taster dude working for them (at least one). The recommendations are always on point. He always has answers to my questions, knows the store like the back of his hand, and of course, gives out fabulous samples. We always have a good experience shopping here. Prices are great, recommendations are trustworthy, store is clean and well stocked.

I love this store. The staff are very knowledgeable about the different products and usually have great recommendations if you are not exactly sure what you want or if you are in the mood for something different. Great prices and coupons available. Amazing selection of everything. And if the staff recommends something you don’t like you can take it back. Obviously not empty but I bought a $ 85 bottle of bourbon that tasted like a $ 10 bottle and took it back with only two pours gone for equal store credit. How awesome is that!

Total Wine had everything that I was looking for and the staff was very courteous and professional. I will definitely return to this store.

This place is the BEST place for your liquor needs. They have the best prices and a huge selection. By far, best place to buy booze in abq.

I was unhappy with how you have to stand in line to exit the store. We didn’t purchase anything and looked to leave. There was no clear exit. I went to a blocked aisle and moved the blocking carts. While I walked out, the cashier said you weren’t allowed to leave unless you stood in line. I asked the manager and he said it was due to theft. Bad process.

Not a wine guy, but they sure do have a great beer selection! Lots of local stuff, US stuff and international as well. I wish they would get more from the east coast though, Dogfish Head especially. Prices are a little high compared to some of the local liquor stores for singles, but they have a better selection.

I love this store. Like a Disneyland for my fellow beer and wine enthusiasts. The selection blew my mind. I also appreciated the fact that they sold a great selection of locally made beer and wine as well at very affordable prices! I will certainly be bringing my business back to this place. The store was also inviting, clean and well organized. I had no trouble locating items I was interested in browsing. The staff was nice, friendly, helpful and courteous which also made my first visit a pleasant experience!

I might be a bit trite when I say this, but Total Wine is the Walmart of alcohol. It has any type of alcoholic beverage you can possibly imagine – and maybe some you did not realize existed– at reasonable prices. But be prepared. This place is so overwhelming huge – they have an entire aisle just dedicated to cabernet sauvignon wine – that it is best to go in with at least an idea of what you are looking for. That said, they’re friendly and knowledgeable staff are there to assist you should you have any questions.
One of the coolest aspects of the store is that they offer weekly wine tastings, as well as classes! I, personally, have taken a wine tasting class, but never one for beer and spirits! They offer classes in all three!

This place makes me look like a raging boozer every time I stop in to pick up drinks for the get-​togethers I throw every Friday. I literally leave with a packed shopping cart full of stuff. Yeah… it’s bad.
I lived in Belgium for a bit, so I had become rather fond of their beers… so of course I went hunting for them once my family and I moved to ABQ. The first place I spotted them was over at Cost Plus World Market… pricey, but hey, I take into consideration they’re imported. Not to mention, they’re AWESOME. Then I finally had time to peruse Total Wine and I swear… little angels busted out with their heavenly music when I saw that TW has a pretty fantastic selection of Belgian goodies. They carry Leffe, Duvel. Kwak and even blue label Chimay! Score! Plus I can skip through the aisles and snag all sorts of margarita mixes that cost much less than what I pay at Smiths, even with their spiffy card that’s supposed to save me money.
The only reason why I didn’t bust out with a 5 star review is because of the cashiers. I don’t know if they’re hung over because they enjoy their product, or it’s because they couldn’t be bothered to show some sort of life. When I ask how they’re doing, the response is barely coherent and they come off annoyed that I was actually NICE. Crazy, right?
Anyway, if you want booze, they got it. Bottles up!

Came here with a friend. I had been to the Total Wine in Seattle just a few weeks ago, and didn’t even really understand that this was the same place. But, wow, they have so much to look at, and the folks that work here are very helpful. I had a long conversation about the nuances of Bourbon. Picked up some wine for a birthday party I was going to, and left excited to check out the Total Wine near Uptown… :o)

Wow! So much wine and the employees are incredibly knowledgable about it and super helpful. I mean… this place is a wine superstore. You can find bottles from $ 2 to $ 2,000. Yes, really… they have some $ 2,000 bottles of wine.
I walked in and was a little overwhelmed by the size of the place. One of the employees caught me wandering aimlessly and asked if I needed help. When I asked him to point me in the direction of the Cab Sauv, he lead me to an aisle that had every kind of Cab Sauv imaginable! I even read one thats label claimed that it had blackberry and cigar box remnants. I’m not sure who would like for their wine to taste like a cigar box, but if that’s your thing… you can find it! There were bottles from Chile, Cali, and everywhere in between. He explained how the aisle was categorized and gave me some recommendations. I ended up picking up a few bottles.
Next time I go, I’m going to take advantage of the «Buy 6». If you buy 6 bottles, you get a pretty good discount on each bottle. I’d also like to take a look at their beer selection.

This review only concerns the beer selection.
Which in my world translates to life itself, essentially.
I understand that cavernous national outlets can present some tough competition to great local shops, and I don’t intend to change where I spend my local dollars. But compared to generations past, we’re really living in a Golden Age when it comes to the ol’ hops ‘n barley. Remember when Pete’s Wicked Ale was like, THE beer? Remember that strawberry variety? It wasn’t so long ago. No one was brewing India Pale Ale, nevermind the adventurous stuff you can find on the shelf these days: sour ales, Belgian whites, sorghum substitutes. The next time you see a six pack of Pete’s, drop a line.
Thanks to this explosion of craft mayhem, I’ve become something of a Frankenstein when it comes to the ritual of brew shopping. I kind of barrel my way toward the beer aisle with one thing in mind: new beer. And it’s almost always the same damn experience. I stand there, glancing over the same old tired selection I looked at last week. Occasionally I’ll spot a new sixer, only to glance at the price tag:
«Ungh.»
I’ll check over the single bottle selection, find something that looks really great, and glance at the price tag:
«Aanghh.»
And I’ll notice a line of beers that’s on sale, some old, trusted brand, the modern equivalent of Pete’s, and I’ll try to settle on an Amber, Stout, IPA or Wheat.
«Ahanagh!»
The entire ordeal can run some 15, 20 minutes, depending, which is an asinine amount of precious time allotted to picking out some drank. Idiocy, really. They’ve created a Monster.
For me, Total Wine comes down to one very simple Law of Consumer Choice: new beer, fair prices. And I’m sure it won’t be long before I find myself trudging down the aisle, lead-​footed, a bolt stuck through my craw. But for the moment, new beer is what it is. New beer.

Grand opening was a mad house. I agree that the «exclusive» event was chaotic The wine selection was amazIng… great high end wines to great buys for the budget minded.
The staff seemed quiet knowledgable about the products throughout the store
It was nice to see many local products being merchandised and sampled
The selection was not limited to wine, beer– local-​international-​mass marketed, and spirits of all destinations are well represented
Looking forward to more events… hope they will make some truly exclusive/​intimate
