We have been in business in Alexandria, VA for over 35 years, serving the Washington Metro area and surrounding region. We started as an entertainment company so our roster of entertainers is amazing. We added décor and lighting in 1985, and have been doing décor, theme décor, custom lighting, production since then. Business Owner

Jan Davis started in the music business as the front vocalist/​bandleader of her own Top 40/​Show band. She has sung all over the world for all kinds of audiences and has performed with such icons as Wayne Newton, Carol Channing, Bill Conti (TV Themes), and many more. She began her career ont he other side of the stage when other bands began asking her to book their bands. From there, the business was client driven, based on the needs of those cleints. Today, she has a full-​time office with a full-​time staff ready to create your next spectacular event.

My wife and I were very happy we hired the Davis Event Group for our wedding. Jan was very responsive and helpful over email. We hired DJ Aaron for our wedding and he was awesome! Great personality, professional, very flexible and a great music selection. Everyone had a great time dancing! He also did a nice job lighting up the interior of our venue.
Aaron truly went out of his way to help us have an amazing day. Due to some unplanned issues, we weren’t able to easily drive my grandmother from the ceremony site to the reception. Aaron decided to drive his van down to offer her a ride so she wouldn’t have to walk as far. I think that story speaks volumes about his character and willingness to help.

Davis Event Group set us up with the best DJ for our wedding! DJ Don Brody made our wedding a success. Not only was he incredibly easy to work with, he ensured the evening ran smoothly and on time. The music he selected kept the dance floor full all night and everyone had a blast.
Jan Davis was also instrumental to our wedding’s success. She made sure contracts, payments and logistics were all handled before and after the wedding day. We will certainly give Jan and DJ Don a call next time we need event services!

We booked the music for our wedding through Jan, and I can’t say enough good things about Jan and the musician/​DJ! Jan was fantastic to work with throught the entire process. My venue had a restriction against electronic music outdoors, and I didn’t initially think about the implications for the ceremony, and how we’d have to hire live musicians in addition to a DJ, and I was a little worried about the impact on our budget. Jan was great in helping to recommend a fantastic guitarist and DJ combo (for our ceremony and reception, respectively), that fit nicely into our budget.
I was skeptical at first about having a guitarist for the ceremony and cocktail music, but Eric was phenomonal. I’m actually really glad we went with a guitarist instead of a more traditional string quartet or violinist. Eric was a true professional, and did an excellent job timing the music with our ceremony, and the music was just beautiful.
We booked DJ Steve for the reception. Neither my husband nor I are big music people, and weren’t sure how to give direction on the music. Turns out we didn’t really need to. We filled out a questionaire with a few of our song requests (all of which got played) and types of music we wanted, and Steve took it from there. He did a good job of reading the crowd, and did a good mix of different music to please a diverse crowd.
Overall, our experience was fantastic. The music was one of the easiest parts of the wedding planning process, and I highly recommend booking through Jan.
