the sushi was pretty good, but the pad thai was very red and salty. very jekyll and hyde. confused.

This is the best thai spot around the area. The thai food is always great and so is the sushi. I can’t wait to venture out the whole menu and try everything. Their alcohol selection is good and also carry some Japanese beers which is a plus. The staff is friendly and so is the head sushi chef. I would recommend this joint, it always hits the spot.

Lunch was expensive and over priced with par food. My sushi was bland and poorly wrapped and the service was bad. The waiter was not attentive and was not found most of the time. It was a waste of money and I will not be back.

I love eating st this restaurant! The pad sew ew is delicious as the crab rangoon. The staff is extremely friendly and that makes the experience even more amazing. I recommend this place.

We used to go here all the time but it has been awhile. One winter when my car wouldn’t start they even drove us home. Great food.

Omg! Best Thai food we had in a while! We suggest you eat in. Take out is not the same… Food is fresh, very well seasoned. Sushi was out of this world. Nice staff, very clean interior. Definitely will go back !

My husband and I used to LOVE this place years ago. After crystal Thai went down hill it was the only place left for pad Thai or pad se ew. But after our last visit in May– I got very very ill a couple hours after eating take out. Very disappointed!

First timer, walked in the place was set up nice, food was good, but the service was very slow, the restaurant was understaffed. I ordered a cucumber salad and my boyfriend had a house salad and we shared the yellow dragon roll. My boyfriend and I got there, was seated right away and got water right away, waited about 10 min until our server took our order. After putting in our order we waited about 15 min for our salads, after receiving our salads we probably waited about 10 min for our roll. I do not blame our server at all he was serving by himself along with tending bar and food running. Willing to give it another try in the future, hopefully they will increase the staff.

We’ve ordered from here ALOT and loved the food. Unfortunately today will probably be our last time… When we placed our order they informed us that they have new chefs and our dishes might taste different than usual and they are trying to work on it… We ordered Pad Thai and crab Rangoon. The goon wasn’t bad however, the Pad Thai tasted like buttered noodles. Very bland. Definitely not worth the money

3 adults, 2 adult teens and 2 kids under 10. The food was fantastic. Every single one of us had a good meal. My little kids love sushi… they love sushi from Sushi Station. I have a really hard time getting them to try«new» sushi. Well, the moon must have been lined up correctly to something in the sky because my kids decided they wanted sushi from @Bankok. The 10 year old ordered the California Roll without avocado. The 8 year old ordered the California Roll — normal. They both housed their rolls. My adult teenager ordered some kind of roll and a California Roll. She enjoyed both, very much. The hubby ordered Thai Basil, very spicy. He really enjoyed this as it came very spicy just like he ordered. Many times, he will order things very spicy and they arrive bland. Maybe spicy to some people, but not to him. The other adult male in our party ordered the Cashew Chicken. He said he judges every Asian dining experience by their Cashew Chicken. The Cashew Chicken at @Bankok made it to the top of his list. The other adult teenager ordered the sweet and sour chicken and she said it was fantastic. I ordered the Algonquin Roll and a sweet potato roll. Both so delicious. Every single person at our table finished their meals. That does not happen often in our group. The food was that good. Our server, Cat(Kat?) was amazing. I could have talked to her all night. She was just as sweet as could be and if it was legal, I would put her in my pocket and pull her out every time I needed to be cheered up. What a sweetie. Our wait time from ordering our apps to them arriving at the table was super quick. Our wait time from apps to mains… pretty darn long. But, we had interesting people watching(oh my Lord… lady, get a grip on your ill behaved children! We were running a tally on how many times your kids misbehaved/you flicked one of them/you yelled at one of them/you ignored them to text/they ignored you) and Cat(Kat?) kept us up to date on our meals. Such a great dinner, we will for sure be back. soon!

I had a hankering for Thai food that only a little Pad Thai could cure. I’m still learning about all the best spots in the area since I’m a new resident of Huntley and this one is definitely a keeper. I found out about this place due to the good Unilocal reviews. When we showed up, we had to wait a few minutes for a table. The hostess asked us if we had a reservation – do you need reservations for places like this? I am not a plan ahead person so I’ve made like 1 reservation in the past year. Anyway, we were soon seated. I like that you can get both sushi and Thai food here. And I had a really hard time deciding what to order because sushi is good to, yo. But I had to fulfill my need for Thai so instead we just got a sushi appetizer – a sweet potato roll + crab rangoons. Both were superb. They also have a fairly good drink menu. The options were better than I expected and included more than just the standard fair domestics. My pad thai really hit the spot. I thought it was excellent. My dining partners both enjoyed their dishes of choice as well and one said the sushi was really good. I can’t wait to go back!

After that first incident, we decided to give it another go. We ordered take out, hoping we could enjoy the food without the endless wait. It went well. I went to pick up the food and was taken care of right away with a friendly attitude. The manager even recognized me and came over to apologize for the last time. He gave me the 10% off without any hesitation. I got the food home and we enjoyed it, although it definitely wasn’t quite as good as it was when we ate in. Fried potstickers and crab rangoons don’t hold up well in the car for a 10 – 15 minute drive. However, we were satisfied enough to give the place another try for dine in, and it turned out to be a good experience. We have since gone back a couple times, as Bangkok has better prices that a couple other nearby sushi places.

Ordered take out today, the food was incredibly fresh, flavorful and not swimming in excessive sauce. Sometimes, less is more. Food was prepared in about 20 minutes and satisfying… enough said.

Lunch specials are good. My wife had Beef Phở and I had Cashew Chicken. They have Thai Iced Tea, which we love! The food is excellent; portions are reasonable but the wait was long for our food. There were others in the restaurant at the time so maybe they were busier than usual. Love the food; it just takes time.

There aren’t too many good Thai places in the area but this is our favorite by wide margins. The food, including crab rangoon, tasted very fresh. The service was outstanding and the restaurant was very clean. We’ll be returning often. Recommendation: Add cashews to the shrimp pineapple fried rice. I’m sure I could ask for them but I’d forget when I go to order.

Food and service were both great! sushi was fresh and yummy! Our waitress suggested the Thai donuts and we were so glad she did. They were delicious! They are served with a sweet condensed milk for dipping. These are a must have here! Good wine list too.

Great food, reasonable prices! Best curry in town, and fabulous sushi rolls too! Between the Thai menu and the Japanese menu, i have noticeably gained weight since discovering this restaurant! Seriously, we order from here all the time! I recommend their green curry chicken, or the tempura shrimp roll — and don’t forget the miso soup!

This is my go to place in the area for sushi, new rolls added regularly, loved the crunchy tuna, some great apps, the crab rangoon is awesome, like their seaweed salad too, not everyone likes seaweed salad I’ve never tried take out, Leary of traveling sushi lol also since i’m not big on going out to eat alone i don’t go as much as i’d like More reasonably priced and not as snooty as place up the road lol

We ordered take-out. The experience was wonderful from start to finish. Granted, I was starving and exhausted from a move from city to suburbs. However, this is when it is important for a restaurant to be on top of their game. I got 2 types of sashimi and a seaweed salad. This dude I moved in with got some ginger chicken and rice. While we were waiting for our order at the bar, the kind bartender gave us some much-needed water. It took only 10 minutes for our take-out order to be packaged and ready to go. Everything tasted very fresh. The atmosphere was was nice and we will return for dine-in.

@Bangkok Thai is surprisingly good for a Thai place out in the middle of Algonquin! I ordered to go a couple of times and they were always super fast in making my order and always got the order completely correct, even with some special requests. They seem to have a nice big dining room and although never full always had a few people eating in. My personal favorites: Sweet potato roll $ 5.95 — I have a slight obsession with sweet potato rolls, I just can’t get enough. This was a good one kept nice and simple with tempura deep fried sweet potato and vinegar rice. Maybe a little too much vinegar and a little too much rice but overall loved this roll. Tofu Pad Thai $ 9.95 — Big & fresh tofu pieces, this may just be a personal preference but I prefer mine cut a bit smaller. It’s not a big portion at all which surprised me considering the price. I’m used to pad thai being about a dollar less and about half a size bigger than it was. I really enjoyed the dish though. They gave me chopsticks & no fork which I was A-OK with but not sure how well that goes over with native Alongquins. I always appreciated them using separate containers to keep my warm food hot and my cold sushi cool. If you’re in the area, I’d definitely say @BANGKOK is a solid choice.
