I used this accounting firm for a year, and decided not to use or recommend to anyone else. Here’s their practice guideline: the accountant Pan will tell you some new regulations in tax law, and assure your money saving or worse, how to take money from IRS; if you rejected this suggestion, he will further advise you to buy some financial product from other financial companys which he serves as a consultant, later on he would charge $ 500 for helping you to «buy» that company’s product. Mind here, a sales person charges the customers for the product he sells, because he «consulted» you, so then you pay for the product and the time the sales spent on you.
While he also charged for full services tax&book keeping, you will be provided a Word Excel form with some examples of how to do book keeping, in another word, he charges for the services he didn’t perform, or you perform by yourself.
Before the tax filing season, this accountant Pan will not review any business account statements that provided by the taxpayers, instead, he played the numbers on the statements to maximize the tax return from IRS without tax payer’s consent. Of course, the tax payers will sign the forms before they go to IRS, and the responsibilities shift onto the tax payers’ shoulders, because you are the ONE who reviewed and signed the forms. Therefore, taxpayers should always review every single number on the tax forms, do not let your accountant to do anything illegal or cook the financial report for you!
Due to his unprofessional performance, many customers of this accountant got audit for their tax filings. The only thing Pan did was to say «I did everything based on the documents you provided», and «there’s nothing else I could do».
There are other mistakes this accountant would make, such as filling the wrong SSNs, mis-​read the graduate school financial aid statements, filling the wrong persons as the owner of a business, etc.
