History
Established in 1964.
Port Edward had humble beginnings as small pizzeria and bar, occupying what today are the two main rooms in the back of our restaurant. Today, we have expanded to our current size. We bolster seating for over 400 guests at any one time, spectacular river view from our lounge and second floor dining rooms, as well as amazing food selections. Founder Ed Woloweic has been involved in all business directions for nearly 50 years, along with a staff that has come to learn the exact vision Ed strives for each and every guest he welcomes. Port Edward has transformed over the years. We have added a our unique gift shop, dockside dining, and continue to offer our famous buffets on Fridays and Sundays. If you’ve never been with us, please be our guest. Let us show you the amazing charm and character Port Edward has to offer. You’ll come for the food and return for the service and fun we have to offer.
Meet the Manager
Charles K.
Manager
Charles has literally grown up in Port Edward. As the grandson of former General Manager, Karen, he has learned the ins and outs of hospitality. Charles has worked as a bus-boy, host, cashier, office assistant, all before working his way into a managerial role. Ed and Karen both believe a well-rounded employee who knows the entirety of the business makes a much well suited manager. As graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in Business Administration and a strong focus on Managerial Studies, Charles was the ideal candidate for the General Manager position as Karen prepared to retire. Today, Port Edward is entering its 52nd year of operations with a strong team in place and Charles at the helm with Ed navigating us into our next chapters.
