Your Best Friend’s Closet

Amy is amazing, not only in quickly discerning one’s style, but in the warmth and joy she brings to dressing a customer (a personal shopper at a consignment boutique!). I cannot say enough good things about her, or the other friendly staff. There are many quality items in like-​new condition.

I love this store, have been a loyal customer for years now. and have nothing but good things to say about it.
They have a great selection of clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, jewelry, prom dresses, bridal gowns et al., you name it, they probably have it thanks to their consignors. Some of the brands I have found here on my weekly visits range from Ann Taylor to Chicos, White House Black Market to Banana Republic, Lane Bryant, Dress Barn, going up all the way to Michael Kors, Coach, St John’s, Brighton, Brahmin and B. Makowsky, did i mention they have quite a lovely selection of Vera Bradley, my personal favorite!
Love how the store is clearly divided into departments, how their sizes are in a vast range from a XS to a 4XL. The speciality shop is awesome with all the beautiful designer labels, bags, shoes, accessories… great stuff! They have a nice selection of Juniors, Maternity, Active Wear and Swim/​Resort wear too, all their items are tailored to the season, which makes it so easy while shopping. It is consignment yes, but there are quite a few items «new with tags» too which is cool.
They even offer a personal shopper service and bridal gowns and it’s so fun to see how everyone gets excited when a bride says ‘Yes, to the dress”, the bride & her family, the customers in the store, the people working, everyone!
My taste in colors was very «inside the box»…usually reds and blacks, but this store and the awesome personal service they provide taught me to enjoy more colors, which I do mention, each time I get a compliment on what I’m wearing.
The store is very clean, everything is well organized and easy to find, huge selection of quality merchandise, reasonable prices… this definitely is a «must visit» place!
Great store, fun atmosphere, friendly workers who always welcome you with a greeting, a smile and an offer to help anytime you need it… this truly does feel like shopping at your best friend’s closet!
P. S. I believe they are opening up Your Best Friend’s Home soon, a couple of doors down from the closet, can’t wait to come shop!

Your Best Friend’s Closet is priced a bit higher than what I feel is fair or a good deal but I am pretty frugal. The shop is big and clean. They will soon be opening another section for furniture and home goods.
The employees were so super friendly and helpful, too.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Items from Ann Taylor, White House Black Market, as well as designer jeans, handbags and shoes. A part of the store is home goods, but smaller than other stores.

To clarify… this is not a thrift store so do not expect thrift store prices or products. This is infact the best consignement store I have ever been to.
5 stars… why? Because its the friendliest, most engagingly genuine staff you will ever meet in any business. Marianne (the owner) and Kathleen are a laugh riot tag team of energy and comedy. You can feel the passion and love for what they do. I would not be surprised if Marianne knows all of her 1000++ consigners by name. I bet no one leaves her store without a smile on their face.
Her store is bright, ample and very organized… sizes and colors easy to find. Item pricing is very clear and sales are always going on. It’s all slightly used womens clothes and accessories (with a small section dedicated to juniors) of all price ranges. She has a section solely for higher end items (Chico, Coach, etc.) She has now expanded to include home items and furnishings.
They make it easy for consigners to drop off items, electronically track earnings and has a great shopper incentive.
I love this store and its people. If you like shopping, finding deals and a fun time you have to check this place out!

Clothes organized perfectly on the racks
Very good selection
Smells great (they have managed to loose the second hand smell most places have)
Price tags are excellent, shows the markdowns over time right on the tag.

The Best consignment store I’ve ever seen. The ladies are so nice, the clothes are fashionable, wide variety of sizes, styles. We have increased our *business casual* wardrobe tenfold, at unbelievably low prices. The longer an item is on the rack, the more the price drops, but the starting price is such a bargain, don’t count on that item being around that long! They also have a «frequent buyer» program, where your purchase amounts go to more bargains! It just doesn’t stop here! It is a fun atmosphere, with a couch for kids or tired shoppers. I never walk out of there without several items, generally averaging $ 5 – 20 per item. This is for name brand quality (chico, hot cotton, cashmere, casual corner, etc). Find this place if you are ever in the neighborhood (or Illinois!)
