I enjoy their steak and eggs breakfast as well as their grilled chicken and steak sandwiches which I tend to call in for a pick up. My father loves their chili spaghetti and it’s his favorite joint in Alhambra. Good food and good service! Plus it has sentimental value with family and friends :)

Haven’t been here in years. I always remembered the warm welcome. The hospitality. I recently heard this place is under new management. Let me tell you, all of the above has gone to shit. The food is not as I remember it but it could taste different after the bad taste left in my mouth from their customer service

I usually eat here about 2 times a week, the food is not the greatest but it was a nice place to eat. I’m now not planning to go back. One of thing that made Ricks a comfortable place was the coffee. It WAS nice that we could to get as much as we want and the pots were placed on the counter. I just ate there and found out the pots are no longer on the counter. I’m okay with that but when I asked for a refill the waitress charged me $.55. I usually spent about $ 10 every time. Now, you’re not going to get anymore from me. There are not being very smart, they got an extra 55 cents from me and lost about $ 20 a week.

My 5 stars are based on flavor of the ricks special with cheese and nothing else. I’m not grading the service or the look of the restaurant but simply the super delicious taste of the perfectly charbroiled cheese burger that Ricks has perfected. I’ve been coming here since high school and I won’t order anything but the ricks special with cheese. The fries are great with ketchup and pepper. I would choose this burger over in & out any day because it’s different ! It’s unique delicious and fresh! It melts in your mouth literally. Been coming here for over 20 years! Ricks don’t change a thing!!!

The 3 ladies behind the counter where shouting at each other in the middle of lunch hour. One of them kept on complaining about how they need a manager to b here full time. The place is dirty and disgusting to eat at.

So went here today for Christmas bc it was close and one of the few things open! My friend ordered the teriyaki chicken plate and when she got it… low and behold, there was a worm in her rice!!! It was disgusting! Asked for a manager and supposedly they weren’t there. The wait was ridiculous and when her food got there she was so grossed out she took one bite, saw the worm and spit it out.

Rick’s what happened to you?! I remember back while attending high school Rick’s chili cheese fries were to die for. but recently visited and it wasn’t the same. The cheese wasn’t completely spread around and was not fully melted on top of the fries. Outdoor patio is very spacious and on weekends and extended patio with live music.

This is another typical small burger place, except it has a diner-ish feel to it. Maybe it was the giant corner booth or the bar stool seating at a counter that gave me such a vibe. I ordered a cheeseburger combo which came out to almost $ 8, slightly on the pricier side. They asked for my name and said they’d call it when the food was ready. Less than 10 minutes later I hear a lady shouting«Pam» or «Pan» several times so I walked over and sure enough, I am now Pam/Pan. Slightly annoying, but I can live with that. I take the bag of food and wait for my drink and the lady stares at me for a few moments and asks what else do I want, so she completely forgot that I never received my drink. The fries were undercooked because they were hard and had NO seasoning whatsoever. No amount of salt, pepper, and ketchup could have saved those fries. The burger itself was just ok. It came with regular buns, not sesame buns(deal breaker for me). Even for being a burger place their quality is slightly below average and a tad more expensive.

Well at first when you walk in you can tell this location is old and out dated with its interior. Still looks the same as it did when it first open. Maybe they’ll ask santa for a make over. There’s a few locations and they all look the same. This location is in the heart of business district, and the night life down here is similar to old town pasadena with a lot of clubs and eateries. They have a good tasting burger with its condiments. Burger special $ 6.15 with a drink also. Now they do charge you for a refill and cost is.$.55 cents and yet their actual cost for a 20 oz is about $.17 cents. Why do fast food establishments nickle and dime their customers. This location charges you for a refill.Really. The one thing that really got me was their Restroom and it was very dirty. I was going to take pictures, but I’m sure if they read this review they will know. I brought it too the employees attention before I left. With the amount of employees that you had on Sunday, do walk-thru’s and check your establishment’s and your restrooms.

I went back and they wouldn’t make me a breakfast burrito during the day when they have totally done that before. Got something else instead but realized how expensive the food is for what you get. I’m probably not coming back.

I really like Rick’s for the convenient location right in the heart of Main Street Alhambra, the tasty fresh cooked food, and of course the live music in the back patio. They always seem to have it every time I come in the evening. I like how their menu offers delicious burgers and American food, but also offers an extensive Mexican food selection such as menudo, burritos and tacos. The chili cheese fries are to die for, and the portions are always big and hearty! Seating is spacious and plentiful. The pricing isn’t horrible, but it used to be better. A hamburger, fries and drink Special is almost 9 dollars now! A few things I don’t dig(hence the 3 stars for a place that I have been enjoying for years) is that you always end up waiting quite a long time for your food to come out. Yes, I understand it is all cooked to order — but waiting 20 minuets for a burger and fries is not my fave experience. It’s also a little frustrating that the majority of the time I try to order my food, it’s a frustrating challenge because the cashiers here rarely speak much English. The bathroom is small and kinda gross — it’s located out in the back and you have to walk around the building to get to it, so hopefully you don’t have to use the restroom when you come here! Other than that — it’s definitely worth a visit once in a while for the hot delicious food and a good time dancing out back!

This place sucks… Expensive and small portions. I ordered a Pastrami sandwich combo, which had this tangy red sauce I wasn’t fond of. My girl got a Beef Dip, super small and we shared onion rings. All of it was a whopping $ 28 and some change. I could understand if the quality and portions were great for the price, but it is not the case, here. Very disappointed… To top it off, the lemonade was terrible. When I asked for an exchange, the lady just diluted it with water to make up for how sweet it was. Still sucked.

I like the simplicity of this place, more like 3.5 stars. You go up and order what you want and they’ll bring your food to you. It’s just a basic diner with delicious Mexican choices. I prefer the huevos rancheros, it was decent and good. Nothing really special about it. But I like how this place is fast and quick. You even pour your own coffee, which I like! Just be warned. This place charges for cups for water, so be mindful and bring your own water bottle. Also they charge for using your credit card so bring cash.

I’m not entirely sure how this joint stays open considering that there are so many places to eat on this street alone for the same prices. Not to mention, it’s not like the restaurant is super modern or even that clean neither. They’re old school but sometimes even old school needs to be amped up a little and I think Rick’s could really benefit from a face lift. The service is super friendly though and the food comes out quick. I can see it being popular because it reminds me of one of those places you go to when you’re super drunk and need to consume something hot and quick. We ordered the Bacon burger and a BLT along with some fries. Our food came out pretty quick and we chose to eat it outside since it was a relatively warm night. The fries were really great. Super hot, seasoned right, and not too oily at all. The Bacon Burger wasn’t bad but it wasn’t that great neither. It tasted like something you could definitely make at home really easily. It was the same thing with the BLT. I probably could have just made that sandwich at home and maybe made it a little better actually. I think the big draw to this place is that it’s local and cheap. Probably more popular with the younger generation but I think I’ve outgrown places like this. 2⁄5
