Valvoline Instant Oil Change

I recently moved to the area and used this location for oil change and maintenance on my fleet vehicle. Location was very clean, staff was friendly and service was fast.

I’ve been using this location for oil changes and state inspections for quite a few years. They’re always pleasant, fast, reliable and they use lingo that I understand.

Stopped in for an oil change since it was due from the sticker from the last oil change. Pulled up 2 cars in the bays. Told me the price & I said sure. Supposed to get a fleet discount. Told me it didn’t amount to much of anything. Truck in bay just finished, so pulled right in hardly any waiting, maybe 3 – 4 minutes. They got on it right away, sat in my truck while they worked away. Checking everything. Finished it up real quick. Came back with the bill, only problem was it was $ 13 higher than quoted. I said what about the quoted price, he said we needed an extra qrt of oil. I told him it was an F150 in the beginning & even asked if the included all the oil because it uses an extra qrt. He said yes until the bill came. Then told me he can discount it $ 10. So ok, won’t go back to this valvoline in allen, texas. By the way the shop was clean for a repair shop, outside was clean. Didn’t see anything else, never got out of the truck while there.

Friendly service and blazingly fast.
I barely had time to fill out heir paperwork and check in on Unilocal and they already told me I was done.
It isn’t cheap, with the regular oil even running $ 40, but if you’re in a time crunch it is absolutely worth it!

Fast, friendly service. Never feel like I’m being upsold or nickel and dimed. Not sure what else you need out of an oil change.

I love this place I have been here twice now they have been very nice and professional. Seriously nice guys I overheard one talk about how much he loves babies. Hopefully they keep this level of service and I will keep coming

Let me first say I have been coming here since it opened some 10 years ago. The manager from the Preston/​Frankford location transferred over to this one and I followed him since I live in the area.
Time has went on and I have questioned a couple of times why I still come here over the past few years. You tend to overlook things when you are only doing business with someone every so often. And, I am getting an oil change, not a heart transplant.
Fast forward to about February this year. I just got my new car and it was due for the first oil change. I have always used the Durablend they offer since it is partially synthetic and I can go a few more thousand miles between changes. Since I have been coming here, they always pull the Durablend from a secondary container and fill a dispenser to pour it in. This time, the gentleman pulled the oil gun. I quickly asked him about it and he said they just started putting the Durablend in the barrels. I was a bit skeptical and asked what was in the containers along the wall as always. He said they were their full synthetic oils. OK, I believed him.
Fast forward to Saturday the 31^st and I am getting my oil changed. This time, the employee gets the oil from the container. I asked about the oil gun and the manager, didnt know he was the manager because no uniform, told me that they never have the Durablend or synthetics in barrels. I asked him if he was sure and he confidently told me he was there long enough to know.
I then told him about my February visit. He was shocked and said that wasn’t possible for his guys to make that mistake. I told him I had no reason to lie and he didn’t seem to be concerned. He gave me 20% off my oil change but that doesn’t take away the mistrust I have for their store now.
Bottom line — I got charged $ 50+ for a $ 25 oil change in February. I wonder how many other people they did or continue to do that to when he isn’t around. And for what? To show a better sales day?

We own 3 vehicles and have been taking our Suv & trucks to this location for 3 years. No problems until March 15^th. I took one of my trucks in for inspection, the service tech’s seem to work quickly reducing wait times. GOOD. However the manager Thomas notified me that his tech was putting the sticker on my truck and asked me to pay. Right after I paid he handed me a slip and said I failed due to my gas cap not holding pressure. I can handle not passing inspection, but to be lied to & how he handled the situation was not professional. I went to buy a new gas cap and then passed. When I left I noticed oil/​grease on my door panel all over my carpets, floor mats and steering wheel. They do not use paper mats to protect or common sense to protect your interior. I called and asked for a manager and that is when I learned that Thomas was the manager. I was unable to get help from him and through my own research learned who the General manager is. I placed a call to Jason Ott, and he handled the situation very professionally. I was pleased to know that they have a plan when this situation arises. He offered to have my carpets detailed and vehicle detailed at no charge. He also assured me that the service at that location would improve and next time I went I would notice a difference. He also offered to meet me there on my next visit to personally show me their improvements. Although I will not take him up on it, I thought he was sincere and Seems like he is genuinely committed to making positive customer experiences a priority. My wish is that they use paper mats and ensure the tech that is in and out of customers vehicles not the same person under the car & hood. Grease does transfer from uniform/​boots to carpet & interior. Also have local detail shop available to customers that this happens to. I’m having to make time to get my truck over to Plano for a detal. At the end of the day Jason will make it right and I will continue to do business with Valvoline Quick Change on Greenville Ave. Allen. After 3 years as a customer & one bad experience that the GM will rectify is not bad.

Changed the oil and knocked a vacuum hose loose. When the car would not start they blamed my starter. When the tow truck came to take the car to a real mechanic, they told the driver that they fixed the problem and the car was running. When I called to pick up the car, they said they ordered a part and the part would be in in three days.
These guys tried to make things right, but a total lack of competence only made things worse. Service like this makes one long for a ‘Sorry we’re closed’ sign.
This is the last time we will be using their services. There are too many other places out there. You can’t set the bar this low.

Went there for an oil change around 11am on a Monday so as to avoid any lunchtime crowds. The second I pulled in there was the efficiency of a pit crew working on my car. Checking fluids, tire pressure etc. I was really in awe. I got my oil changed very very fast. I am an over the shoulder looker kind of person and stood by and watched it unfold. Very very impressed. The only reason not 5 is because I don’t usually give the highest grade. They did a great job.

Not a clue what customer service is. Can’t keep track of who is who, and what order cars come in. Funny… as a customer I can! Never again. I have always liked this place, but never again. Customer service is what kept me coming back. Now it is what is driving me to the next corner.

this is the most shady place i have ever done business with and actually, i am in the process of reporting them to the headquarters and the state. i went here on december 23 to prepare for a long road trip to kansas city. i wanted to make sure my tires were in good shape for the trip and for an oil change. i had a coupon for $ 10 off an oil change.
the manager in the office never left his seat and never talked to the other workers before he said «i looked at your passenger rear tire and it needs to be replaced» first of all, from where he was seated in the office, he could only see the driver’s side of my truck. how was he able to conclude this. the crazy part is that 5 minutes later. he went out to the truck and looked at all of the tires. he came back in and said «my mistake, all of your tires are in good shape and you should have no trouble getting to kansas city and back.»
THEN he said, «i’ll tell you what, since it’s christmas, i will just ring you up for a tire rotation since it is cheaper than an oil change. also, keep your coupon and we will honor it even if it expires. we don’t pay attention to the expiration dates anyway.» then, in a matter of minutes they told me i was good to go. keep in mind that i requested an oil change. there is no way they could have changed my oil that fast. from the office, i could see that the guys were struggling to get my oil cap off. i think they finally gave up and didn’t change it.
i was literally there for a total of 7 minutes. THEN when i go to kansas, my brother (who is a mechanic) just happened to be looking at my car and noticed that my passenger rear tire was in bad bad shape. it was skin bare with no traction. i could have been involved in a fatal accident during my trip because the tire was on the verge of blowing out. there is no way that a tire could have that much damage just from 500 miles. it had to have been bad when i took it to valvoline.

been there multiple times. always quick and easy service.
price seems ok as well.

Let me just say I won’t be back. The attitude that because I’m a female makes me stupid is infuriating. I’ve never paid so much for an oil change (he said it was because it took 7 quarts — well excuse me but I’ve had the same vehicle for 6 years and it always takes 7 quarts for about half the cost and with NO attitude. And I didn’t know the cost until I was ready to check out so their attitude was all before I could get in a word edgewise. I’d rather go to a car dealer than put up with this.

These guys are great. They have always been very helpful and fast.

I have to give this place a thumbs down.
I took my Honda in about 6 months ago and they said they would change the wipers, check the fluids, change the oil, and the tire pressure. (standard shave and a hair cut)
Aftewards:
The tires seemed low in front, but I figured it was just a little heavier, (not the case) The windshield wipers squeak and make all kinds of noises.
To top everything off, last weekend I needed a new headlight and I called ahead to make sure they replaced them and had them in stock. «Yes» to both, I go up there and they don’t have them after all. Fail.
