Alpharetta Animal Hospital

I have a 12 year old golden (who was a rescue at 11 so I know very about her past) and a 17 year old mix. Alpharetta Animal has only been our vet for this year but I am so happy with the care and love shown to my two geriatric ladies! Love the way the office is run and adored the vets we saw. Thank you!

The thing i love the most is they Know when i bring my dogs in. that it is
one of my family members and they treat them as such,(THANK YOU).

I have been coming here for 10 years now with my increasing brood of 2 dogs and 4 cats.
The vets here are AMAZING.
Caring and compassionate and most of all trustworthy and honest.
I never feel overcharged or pushed into treatments that I do not feel comfortable with or that aren’t in the best interests of my pet. They recognize that pets are members of our families and theirs too!
Dr Keller and Dr Perales are my favorites but they are all excellent veterinarians.
Staff are friendly and professional and their walk in appointment system works for me. I never have to worry about my sick pet being seen the same day, although sometimes there can be a bit of a wait time as this practice is so popular!

A rep at the front quickly dismissed me when she found out that I was a foster mom. She took every other patient in line behind me back to rooms and left me to wait and wait. The second visit was the same dismissive treatment.
The foster kitty was treated for the same condition twice with no improvement. I’m going elsewhere.

We love Alpharetta Animal for the Veterinarian care, Techs and front staff. Have been taking all our animals here for 11 years. However, today took our 100lb Golden and Bernese here for grooming. All she did was give them a bath! For $ 70 each. She told me those were the instructions. I never told her that. If you look the word groom up it means to be «clipped». I attempted to make my point. The groomer then stated that my Golden Retriever was obese. I could not believe how rude she was. $ 70 is the going rate (for large dogs) with every groomer for a bath, clip/​cut and nails. Needless to say I’m very disappointed. They spent 7 hours for just a bath for $ 140.00!

We have been taking our dogs there for about a decade and always have had a great experience. They are so kind and thoughtful also when you have a pet die or develop a fatal illness. My one and only complaint is that on Saturdays it takes a looong time to be seen… but that is probably just because it’s a weekend and so many people like this vet! They are open pretty late in the evening on weekdays, so I recommend trying to go then if possible.

This is a wonderful place and the vets are phenomenal. Dr. Keller is absolutely amazing. He is extremely dedicated and goes above and beyond for the animals that he treats and their nervous parents. Dr. Keller recently performed a very difficult bladder stone removal surgery on my 9 year old Bichon Frise. He did a phenomenal job on the surgery and especially on my pet’s successful, but very involved, recovery. I cannot say enough about Dr. Keller. He is absolutely wonderful !!! Barb in the front office is an angel on earth and Dr. Hines, Dr. Perales and Dr. Shaw are also extremely dedicated, brilliant and kind. If you are looking for a fabulous vet’s office in the Alpharetta area, I would highly recommend this amazing facility and staff.

Our best friend, Rudy, was having some GI trouble. We’re certain that he may have had himself a little party under the dinner table off the crumbs from our Holiday dinners. No telling what he got into… maybe some of Lady Jane’s Bourbon Sweet Potatoes. (Hic!!)
Anyway, all it took was a phone call to Alpharetta Animal. They gave us a helpful hint that worked in 24 hours and the Rudester was back to his old self.

Took my too dogs today at opening, it took an hour and 30 min to see the vet. The vets are different all the time, service is poor and simply unprofessional. Asked to be called back-​yet to hear back. Is this what you expect from your doctor when you don’t feel well?

I don’t even know where to start my review with this awesome business. I have been a client for almost 40 years. Since I was a kid. The care and service you receive from Barb and Rhoda and the sorely missed Kitty and all the other girls at the counter are so sweet and always greet you with a smile and call you by name, Kim the worlds best vet tech and joy (sp?) the groomer to the vets is remarkable and genuine. I would never bring my dogs anywhere else for their health concerns. I am an animal behaviorist and trainer and refer everyone I know w an animal to them including 1000’s of clients. All of which have loved their experiences.
Dr. Hines, Perales, Keller, Shaw — all of them are some of the nicest and compassionate people I’ve met. I wouldn’t change vets if you paid me to.

I recently adopted to baby kitties and had been taking them to Loving Hands animal clinic because it was across the street from my work. I had no idea until I started going to Alpharetta Animal Hospital that they were charging me a ridiculous amount of money! I had to get poor sweet Leroy had a really bad case of ear mites that they just couldn’t seem to treat. I am so happy that I switched to the Alpharetta Animal Hospital. The wait wasn’t very long and when we were shown to the room everyone was so nice! The staff there is truly fantastic. They de-​wormed both of them, cut their claws, and gave them their booster shot. For Leroy they cleaned his cut, gave him an antibiotic shot. In addition to all of that, they also gave me pills and ear drops for both of them. My GRAND total was only $ 122. I was shocked! They were so unbelievably reasonable and just so pleasant, I will tell anyone that will listen to go to this place! My only regret is not going to them sooner and wasting hundreds upon hundreds of dollars at Loving Hands «Pet Resort» psh give me a break. BEST VET IN TOWN!

I called to see how much it would cost to get my dog boosters. A woman named Kathleen answered and as soon as I asked my question the phone went dead. I called again thinking that maybe we were disconnected by accident. Nope, it was not an accident. I was hung up on AGAIN. Some customer service. They WILL NOT receive a penny from me and I will be sure to share my experience with all my pet owning friends.

My family and I have been using Alpharetta Animal Hospital for more than 10 years. My parents always took our family dog there until he passed away, and I have continued the tradition by bringing our new rescue to AAH, despite having to make a little bit of a drive to get there.
Dr. Davenport was very sweet and courteous when getting our puppy his first round of shots and giving us some medication for the kennel cough he brought home with him from the pound. When he got sick a few months later, she gave us several different options with what we could do to get our pup feeling better, including giving us financially-​friendly options. She was so sweet and gentle with our dog, and he was back to feeling better in no time!
Most importantly though, Dr. Perales took care of us years ago when our family dog of 12 years passed away. He walked us through the entire process of putting our beloved pet down, and reassured all of his through his personal experiences with his own animals that we were doing the best thing for our dog given the cancer he had been diagnosed with. It was very difficult to lose our sweet dog, but to this day, I always think of how patient, understanding, and kind he was when we had to make that heart-​wrenching decision.
I recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for a no-​nonsense, honest veterinary business. As long as I am in the Atlanta area, I will be making the trek to AAH to take care of our furry babies.

I came to this facility in 2012 when we got our puppy based off of a friend’s high recommendations. The office is very clean, staff nice, looked like they had new equipment, and decorated well. Unfortunately, things fell apart when we met the vet.
When the vet came into the room, she acted like someone had just shoved her as soon as she saw my doberman puppy. She immediately attacked me with questions about why his ears were cropped and tail docked, demanded to know who my breeder was, who performed the surgery, and that what was done to my puppy was inhumane, and she wanted nothing to do with helping me re-​wrap his ears because she didn’t want any liability issues should the ears have problems standing later on.
Wow…as a first time pet owner looking for a animal hospital, I did NOT expect that. I walked out of there with a round of puppy shots and not accomplishing what I needed the help with most, which was to re-​wrap my puppy’s ears.

I’ve been taking my 13 year old shih-​tzu here for years and I can’t imagine a better vet… everybody is always so helpful and friendly, the place is clean, it’s awesome. Dr. Peralis is seriously an angel on earth. He takes all the time you need to explain things to you, he’s gentle and puts things in terms you can understand. The man is wonderful and I’ll never go anywhere else!

I just had to have my amazing dog put down. The staff was beyond compassionate! I just received a sympathy card with her footprint in it. What a beautiful keepsake! I have 2 other dogs at home and know I will continue to receive amazing care for them.

One of my pups (ok, lets be honest– he’s a geriatric) was due for his shots and I woke up somewhat early today. I took him to the vet around 7– when they opened. I got there around 7:10– it was already mobbed! So I went to the nearby dog park to kill some time.
Since it was nice and chilly, I didn’t spend too much time there– so I got back to the vet around 7:35– and I am glad because at that point, I was the only person in the waiting room.
I only had to wait 5 minutes, and my vet today (Dr. Gholston) was nice and professional– and took good care of Stanley. Stanley was done with his shots in less than 3 minutes. The doctor said that «everything was good with Stanley except for his bandana (Stanley was wearing GTech gear as the vet wore a UGA tie)». Ha.
Check out was effiicient as well, and I was on my way.
As always, glad to do business with them.

This is a great place to take your animal. They treat them like their own. We have been going to them for 12 years now with both cat and dogs. and Everytime I bring in one of my dogs, the staff asks about the other one. The vet has personally called us on a sunday to check the status of our great dane who was going through a rough patch. I feel like they take the time to get to know the animals, and the owners and really give you the advice and knowledge of a friend. There are vets that make you feel like they are out for your money and This is NOT one of them.
They go above and beyond– and My Family appreciates everything they have done for us.
My only negative is sometimes there is a bit of a wait once you get into the room, but i never call for an apt, so I understand they are busy :)

I brought my dog here for 12 years, until he died. Treatment was always excellent. The vets were caring and patient. There was absolutely no turnover in vets for the 12 years I went there. Dr. Hines has been in business 40 plus years, and my breeder had been using them almost as long. Never any complaints about the staff.
Flash to 4 years later. I got another golden retriever pup. He came down with Parvo (the whole litter did). I live intown now, and had him at an intown vet where he was not getting any better. I brought him up to Alpharetta Animal Hospital. Same staff, same vets. They took great care of him, and he is going to live. They called me every day to give me his status and tell me what was being done. My present breeder has also been using them for 40 plus years.
i highly recommend this veterinary hospital. I’ve seen the care that they give. The previous poster must have either posted about the wrong place, or ??? Even though I live in Va HL now, I will take my new puppy up to Alpharetta AH.
