Specialties

Alpine Garden and Gifts specializes in native and drought-​tolerant plants. We also have a variety of pots and custom planters. We carry worm-​castings and other soil-​amendments from a local source. With over 20 vendors to choose from we have lots of Antiques, Yard Art, Handmade Jewelry, Stone Sculptures, Birdhouses and «One of a Kind» Gift Items. The list is always evolving so check back frequently to see what is new and exciting.

History

Established in 2012.

This property had been a nursery for decades with many different owners. The new people decided to add to the plant aspect of the business by taking on vendors that sell a variety of products. We have tried to get as many local artisans as possible to sell their unique creations and are always looking for more.

Business Owner

Kathy has been a florist in the Alpine area for over 25 years. As well as providing flowers for her extensive list of private clients, she also does weddings, decorating and landscape design. Blending her business with the Alpine nursery was a natural fit.

An entertaining place to shop and adopt plants. Don’t be deceived from the street, this place is larger than it appears. Shopping here was delightful. Loved the greeting from the friendly black cat and all the surprises in this whimsical environment. Kathy was knowledgable and so pleasant to chat with.

We love this place for many reasons. The serenity of the creek and turtle pond beneath the giant oak trees. Unique, handcrafted quality finds, art and antiques at reasonable prices. Constant new inventory. Gorgeous, up to date arrangements. Gypsy the parrot. My daughter exploring the wood and scaling the giant rocks. Sampling Concord grapes that grow along the walking bridge. Led Zepplen playing in the background. Adorable coffee shack. And the coolest family who owns the place. We find ourselves taking a family stroll down to AGG at least 4 days a week. Alpine Garden and Gifts is a treasure in Alpine. It’s an antique mall, a garden nursery, coffee shop, and a unique artisan gift shop all in one place. There is a tranquil turtle pond and a boisterous parrot which are also unique to the property. This is a great place to stroll, especially after lunch at Alpine Beer Company’s new location which is right around the corner. The nursery specializes in drought tolerant plants. The prices on the antiques are amazing and there’s a cabin filled with creations by local artisans including jewelry, soaps, candles, leather, paintings, fiber arts, etc. This place is worth the drive to Alpine! There’s also a vintage flea market on second Sunday’s of the month with music and food. Don’t miss a visit to this place.

I stopped in here the other day to buy my christmas tree. I was pleasantly surprised that they were selling trees in alpine! Christmas trees in alpine are normally hard to find so I was instantly impressed.
It is owned by the sweetest husband and wife couple. My kids loved the all the animals they have, one parrot, lots of koi fish and the cutest labrador. I also noticed that they are adding a little coffee shop to the nursery. We will definitely be back.

I love this place! Unique, interesting, friendly, relaxing. It is worth a drive up from the city. Have lunch at Janet’s and walk two doors down to the Gardens and wander around. Great place to find a gift. I was here for one of their Vintage Markets and it was happening. Live music, lots of vendors selling furniture, antiques, clothes and food. A great addition to Alpine.

I randomly stopped here the other day after eating at Janet’s café. They had a great selection of antiques and plants. I also thought it was neat that they do a monthly vintage flea market where they gather local artists and craftsmen. I bought several succulents and some garden art. Overall awesome, creative place! I will definitely be back.

I love this place! I love all the unique gifts and creative ideas for my home. I recommend everyone take some time and check out this hidden sanctuary. I would go up and spend all day there if I could. The atmosphere is so inviting and all the people there are so welcoming. I can’t wait until I head up next time!

Enourmous talent the one of the artists selling at this Markeplace in Alpine. I was super impressed with all what I saw, totally amazed by the metal art of that guy creating funny ants and other little beasts with some metals and adding rocks and other props. Funny and creative. Ideal for gift giving to those with big houses and backyards.
Woodwork is also very impressive and most of the little stores selling antiques there have excellent material. I got a very cute and funny watermelon-​teapot. Very whimsical and different. My friend got a vintage Mexican totem in wood for her patio. Lots of cool stuff and vendors very friendly and dedicated to you if you have any questions. Also a great way to pass some hours browsing nice things while in Alpine.

I went to this place, they have the nicest willow furniture I have ever seen, the price was also, the best in the U.S.this guy guy makes everything, Evan these great garden structures, plus he peels the bark, so they can last forever
