Specialties
The Cellar is an independent, family-owned restaurant specializing in Northwest Cuisine, using fresh (and locally grown whenever possible) ingredients. We hand-cut our own meats, seafood and wild game. We have a fabulous Martini and Cocktail list. And we have an amazing enclosed patio with a delightful view, where we have live music every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Our Wine List has received the Wine Spectator Magazine Award of Excellence since 2008. We also offer Vegetarian and Gluten Free menus, and we enjoy providing personalized and attentive service, with a family touch. Join us for a relaxing evening of Gourmet Fun.
History
Established in 2004.
The first owners– Scott and Michele Hinschberger started The Cellar in 2004 with the help of their son, Bryan. The heart of the restaurant is located in a 104 year-old house with all its charm and atmosphere. Scott kept the renovations to a minimum to preserve the look and feel of the home. The fully-stocked bar is even located in what was the huge kitchen and dining area. The house is surrounded by mature pine trees and during summer they have outdoor dining and concerts. The wine cellar, which has room for just one table, is a real attraction for couples or small groups wanting an intimate experience in a very special environment.
With the new owner – Bryan and Michelle Hewett, the same charm of the house remains along with touches from the Hewett’s. Having just took over in January of 2015 they invite you to come in and take a look at the new menu. Check out the art on the walls from local artists, enjoy a glass of wine, or bourbon, or homemade ginger ale and some dinner!
Meet the Business Owner
Bryan H.
Business Owner
My love for food started on the farm I was raised on in Southwestern Idaho. From there I attended Boise State University where I earned my degree in Culinary Arts. I have spent over 34 years in the food service industry and have not grown tired of it. Once the restaurant business is in your blood it is there to stay!
