1818 Platinum Triangle

I’ve rented apartments in nice areas of Orange County, San Diego, Riverside and Los Angeles, and this is by far one of my favorites! Visiting friends (all working professionals) have commented that the property looks more like a fancy hotel than an apartment building. The rooftop pool and bbq usually seals the deal with guests! Office staff is courteous and extremely responsive, and the neighbors I have met so far greet you warmly in the halls and offer to get your floor in the elevator. My rental experience with Blake the manager and his assistant Maggie went very smoothly, all documents electronic and very efficient. Since I brought proof of income with me, the process was completed in a little over a workday lunch hour, including commute time from my job. Once moved in, Eddie in the front office helped me speedily and cheerfully with various routine requests, all while dressed to the nines! I highly recommend this complex and hope to see you here!

Moved in recently and love the community here. I know people have spoken about price but it is worth ever penny of what you pay for here. I dealt with Eduardo here and his customer service exceeded my expectations and dealing with him has been amazing. I’m super excited to live in this wonderful clean community and stay here for quite sometime. Again there are other communities in the area but nothing like 1818 and you will not regret it from the location and the high quality fixings there is no better place to live. I gave this place 5 stars :)

This is such a great place to live, I love it here!. Eddie and Taylor in the leasing office are the most awesome people. They hosted a Super Bowl Party today and it was so fun. I just moved here and they were the first people to make me feel at home in a new city and made my Super Bowl Sunday rock with pizza, and snacks. They’ve even told me what to check out in the area and have made some awesome suggestions!

I had visited a friend here a couple years ago and was impressed. When I had to relocate to OC for business this was one of my first choices. After visiting more complexes than I can count all over the county I chose to be here. The proximity to so may freeways allows me to avoid most of the traffic issues. I know there have been some management changes in staff recently. It has been nothing but positive. I often work from home and see the manager walking the property several times a day. I’ve found the entire staff to be very responsive to any issues. The quality of the units, from kitchens to bathrooms is really outstanding. There is plenty of parking and the option to rent secure storage spaces in the garage. The entire exterior of the complex was recently repainted and looks great. And considering we are in a drought, the landscape looks great largely with the use of drought tolerant plantings that make it feel very lush and tropical. I don’t do very many reviews on Unilocal but I know most people with a positive experience don’t post anything. I love it here. We have some great restaurants within walking distance and many more planned in the next year.

I just recently moved to 1818 for the second time (Platinum Triangle) when I moved back to OC from Sacramento. I lived her previously ²⁰¹²⁄₁₃.
This complex has great amenities. The units have hardwood floors, granite countertops and European cabinetry. We even have a business center and theater.
Even though the units are technically «apartments» they feel like beautifully appointed condos. We are minutes from Disneyland and several freeways. We are also within walking distance to many restaurants, Angel Stadium and the Honda Center.
Since Blake Cardwell (manager) and Jeanine Reyes (assist mgr) have taken over there has been a noticeable and positive change in the maintenance and upkeep to the complex. In addition the rest of the staff is professional and very courteous.
If you are looking for a beautiful upscale place to live in a super convenient location I highly recommend checking 1818!

Hey whatsup. Just wanted to drop by to tell you the facts about this place.
Here are the facts. Everytime I have a problem with a light bulb, they come and replace it promptly. Most importantly the only place without a parking problem for the tenants? You have 2 cars, 3? In transition to your dream home… great. How long have I lived here a year and a half. And my good friends that are now my neighbours have been here for the same or longer, all with great attitudes, and none of them post on Unilocal!One of them for 5 years and he refuses to move. There is nothing going wrong. The quality of the bathrooms are unparalleled, big and luxurious. With nice sinks and very nice floor plans. I wouldn’t recommend this apartment complex to those that need to stretch to make it. I recommend this apartment. I have been to all in this area, and the quality is great. It really is. Good luck on your search. If you end up to be a neighbour let me know!!! Have a nice day! And enjoy your search, ask for Eddie or Jeanine they are always there when I need them. Be kind they are very sweet people and will take care of you. They are the ones that handle my small complaints about light bulbs and it’s fixed when I get home!

We have lived in 1818 for two weeks. It’s been amazing so far! Before we moved in we read the reviews on Unilocal.Some good and some bad… pretty much par for the course with any review you read. Let’s start with the office staff first. We worked with Chey and Eddie. They are amazing in all aspects! Chey must have shown us every apartment in the complex. We also walked the entire complex and looked at all the ammenities. Chey was patient and caring. When she was not sure how to answer a question, Eddie stepped up and answered our questions or concerns. They both have really went above and beyond to make this an easy transition for us. On a side note they both are always dressed professionally. They are always ready to help you with big smile and kind word.
So far we have not heard anything in terms of noise. You will hear a barking dog sometimes as you walk by a door. But no fire alarms or any of the issues people complain about in reviews. We have two dogs and they have adjusted quickly to our new home.
I will agree that some people are careless with cleaning up after their dogs. Remember this is a dog friendly property and the staff do their best to keep the property clean.
The maintenance crew are always working to repair and clean things. They are friendly and caring.
Bottom line is that this is the best property in the area. If I can find one fault it is that the pool area does not have a jaquzzi/​spa. That being said the pool area is incredible with views second to none. We have enjoyed the Disneyland fireworks several times and are looking forward to meeting more of our neighbors!

I’ve been living in this apartment complex for a year now. There’s A LOT to say after reading most of these Unilocal reviews. We all know that usually the unhappy will aggressively report anything, and the satisfied most likely don’t bother to write anything. 33 Reviews, and about 20 are bad. OUT OF 260 CURRENT TENANTS and thousands of previous ones. I think that explains it. Look, this complex is a luxurious one, and I myself won’t settle for less! Thankfully, I haven’t experienced much unwanted action while living here, and the ones I have was just a regular fight between a couple living across my house that happened ONCE. Amenities, daily cleaning and weekly vacuuming of the hallway, garage, and etc makes it somewhat up to my standards. You may hear of some complaints happening, but if you don’t ever see them, or hear them, then why should you care? The security is prompt on his job, he takes care of any problems ASAP and he’s always there to help. Every complex has its pros and cons, and since I’ve been here for a year, apparently the pros outweigh the cons comparing to all the complexes around (Anavia, Viridian, Renaissance). MY HONEST ADVICE, if you decide on moving in, look for an apartment on the higher floors (3, 4, 5) since you’ll stay away from any problems that usually happens on the lower floors. The price comes with quality, and the quality is that you don’t live near a bunch of party kids, crack heads, and undesirable people. Pay a little extra for your comfort and peace of mind than being cheap on yourself and buying any possible problems.

I changed my mind about this place. Now that I moved to a nicer area in OC, I realized I could have gotten something much better for the same rent. They raise the rent alot every year! The hallways are extremely filthy and the complex smells like wet dogs. People are mostly ghetto.
When your lease is up and you’re moving out, DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT bother to clean your apartment or pay to get it cleaned. Leave it super filthy because they will keep your deposit anyway! It was so dirty when I moved in a year ago that I had to ask them to clean it again.
Upon moving out, I paid for 5 hours of professional cleaning and the apartment was a million times better and cleaner than when I moved in. Yet they still took half of my deposit for FAKE unnecessary charges like cleaning, painting, carpet repair, etc. The invoices they sent me for those charges looked so fake and like they were created in Word in 2 minutes. I’m telling you, the place was in much better condition than when I moved in. I know for a fact the charges are fake because Edison told me someone had moved in a week after I moved out. How is it possible to get professional cleaning, paint, and carpet repair in one week??? UDR is shady and unethical. Do yourself a huge favor and rent at Avalon or Irvine Company complexes.

This really is as good as it gets! Lets begin with the leasing office. I have never come across a more professional group of people in my life. My God, they are so incredibly awesome, specifically Jerry, he treats you with so much sincerity. I am off to law school and hope to dress and act like him by the time I’m out; you’ll understand where I’m coming from once or if you meet him. In regards to the apartment units. It’s important to give credit when due and this apartment complex has certainly earned its title of luxury. In regards to some of the cons I’ve read on here. I’ve noticed absolutely no trash in the hall ways, in fact the hall ways are incredibly clean. I think some people just get ticked off to the extent that they have to write about it when they see their neighbors leave trash outside their door for 5 minutes before they throw it away in the trash chute. Even so, I haven’t seen this happen. Just walking through the hallways makes you feel like you live at a resort. As for the «loud neighbors», the windows are sound proof, if you hear your neighbor close your windows. Really don’t know how this place has bad reviews. I lived in Playa Vista, so my standard of living is relatively high, but this place has far surpassed my expectations and it will do the same to yours.

If you enjoy never ending construction, dust, pet filth, smell.

My wife and I have lived here for 3 yrs now and truly love it! Unfortunately, we have to move closer to LA for work. We are moving to a place named Alessio (owned by Essex) and I could only wish that they had the same quality customer service as 1818. We were truly spoiled here! Who knows, we may even come back in a couple of years!

My job relocated me from Seattle and I have to say one of my favorite things about this transition has been my beautiful apartment. I absolutely LOVE it! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The apartment itself is gorgeous. I had an issue with my washer and dryer when I first moved in and they fixed it immediately.
Jeanine was incredibly helpful with the moving process which was a huge relief because I was coming from out of state. Love her! Aaron also made the move in process as enjoyable when I arrived in Anaheim. Love him!
Things to note: The only two things that are a little disappointing to me is that we don’t have a hot tub onsite (which I love hot tubs). The actual tubs in the apartment are really nice though so that sort of makes up for it. And the other thing is that the movie theatre is constantly rented out but there is hardly ever anyone who is actually in the theatre when it is reserved. So it is a little disappointing when I want to watch the game on a big screen that no one else is using. HOWEVER, I am sure that if was a better planner I could go out of my way to actually reserve the theatre myself.
I love the gym, the rooftop pool, the game room. I love that you can see the fireworks from Disneyland from the gym and the rooftop pool. I love that it offers community events like Taco Tuesdays (although I haven’t made it to one myself, yet).
Overall: I give this place a five star rating because I love the leasing staff that I have encountered (Jeanine and Aaron) and I love my actual unit. It is beautiful and I am obsessed with it and its hardwood floors. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Dont let the name «luxury» fool you, the only thing luxurious about this place is the lobby
I moved in here because my friend lived here and he said he liked it. I checked it out and it looked nice from the tour.
Upon moving in to an apartment that was totally different from the one i toured i immediately started finding things wrong with the place.
the first night i went to do my laundry and the dryer wouldnt dry my clothes, i had to be let into a vacant apartment to dry my clothes, off to a bad start.
then i noticed that the accent lights above the kitchen island flickered to the point that people that came over would comment on it, and it was so irritating that i eventually just stopped using those lights all together.
Then the bottom metal plate that holds the door together had a screw that came loose slightly so it would screech like nails on a chalk board every time i opened and closed my front door. i had to have maintenance come THREE TIMES to «fix» it and finally on the 3^rd time i made sure i was there so i could walk the obviously incompetent employee through what the problem was.
If that wasnt enough, there was always AT LEAST one set of elevators out of service, there was a point where BOTH entrance gates to the parking lot were broken, my storage locker got broken into and all my movies and tools were stolen, AND one of my guests cars was towed even though i took the time to write a note with my name, phone # and apartment # on it.
All in all this place looks nice on the outside, but for the price i would NEVER recommend ANYONE live here. your money would be better spent at a NON UDR run apartment!!!

Lets start off by saying that if I could leave this place a negative star review, I would not hesitate the slightest.
DO NOT RENT HERE!!!
My fiancé and I were residents of 1818 Platinum Triangle for approx. 8 mo’s. During our tenancy we had several issues with the management that ran this specific property of UDR’s. To give you an idea of how bad it is, they can’t keep a Community Director for any long period of time. The new one, Anya is possibly worse than the last one.
Issue One: NON PET FRIENDLY AS CLAIMED
Just so everyone is fully aware, 1818 is a «Pet Friendly» property. The issue with this, they DO NOT LIKE YOUR PETS!!! Anyone with a dog should know that on occasion your dog is going to bark. Not a big issue as long as it is not on a continuous day to day basis all day long. We would receive several emails in regards to «our dogs» barking. Our two small dogs were only placed outside for brief periods of time to use the dog potty matt out on the balcony. Our dogs would not bark any more than the other community dogs that were around our location. Furthermore, they were unable to provide any proof that it was coming from our specific unit.
Secondly, the dog walk area provided for your dogs has ZERO grass for the animals and is full of rubble and dirt. Can they not invest a little money to make a nice little area for our four legged loved ones? Don’t plan to walk them around the community either, there is nowhere near by that you can take your dogs that has grass.
The people who do walk their animals around the property also have an issue with picking up after their animals. On multiple occasions we would be walking through the courtyard and hallyways to find HUGE piles of poo: (Not my idea of a LUXURY LIVING community.
ISSUE TWO: PEOPLE LEAVE TRASH EVERYWHERE
When you are paying 2,000.00 + a month in rent, you expect to live in a clean environment. This is not the case at all when you choose to live at 1818 Platinum Triangle. For some reason, people think it’s okay to leave their trash all over the property. Several times we have noticed people leaving their trash outside in the hallways by their doors. We have also noticed people taking their trash and leaving it out in the courtyard common areas. Management needs to do a better job of taking care of this issue, just don’t count on them getting the job done.
ISSUE THREE: FIRE ALARM DISFUNCTION
If you like to be woken up in the early hours of the morning, you will LOVE this place. For me, I prefer to get a decent amount of sleep (7 – 8 hours). While living at 1818 we have had several occasions where the building fire alarm would go off. In order for the alarm to be shut off the Fire Marshal must come out and make sure the building is secure and safe from harm. They must also speak with the «Manager On Duty,» before turning the alarm off. On our last alarm, it took nearly about an hour to shut it off. What took so long? The Fire Marshal was unable to get in touch with the «Manager On Duty!» WOW… I confronted the Community Director in regards to this incident… DENIAL.
ISSUE FOUR: CLOTHING & OTHER ITEMS HANGING ALL OVER BALCONIES
I am a big believer in making sure that the community in which I live looks nice. I don’t find it very appealing when I see clothing, blankets, rugs and banners hanging out over people’s balconies. This specific issue is also against the policy of 1818. Don’t expect management to enforce this policy. There are several units that display clothing, etc… all over the balconies of the community. In my personal opinion, it looks a bit distasteful and trashy. I don’t think «LUXURY LIVING» when I see this.
ISSUE FIVE: MANAGEMENT
This is by far the worst group of management I have ever come across. I have made several complaints to management and they seemed to shun my issues. Instead, they chose to retaliate and try to give us a 3 DAY NOTICE TO QUIT. I am sure they are used to getting their way by bullying tenants around when they don’t like you. They brought my fiancé and I in to the office to go over «several issues and complaints» that were made in regards to our tenancy at 1818. They also had the nerve to lock us in the office against our will and permission. My fiancé tried to leave the office and she was locked in!!! Seriously!!! We of course hired an attorney to resolve this issue in peace to where both parties could go seperate ways without any lease break penalty.
My thoughts: I feel that management got tired of us fighting back with them and making several complaints. I felt as if there was a WITCH HUNT out against us. I also have a VERY PUBLIC and WELL DOCUMENTED health issue. I am an advocate on this specific issue… it is my belief that management found out about my sickness and decided that they didn’t want me living in their community as they felt I was a «risk factor» to the other residents. I had over heard management talking about my sickness and how they had «GOOGLED» my name.

Avoid this place like the plague. It has been the worst rental experience of my life. Loud neighbors and non existent security. DON’T BE FOOLED, everyone in the leasing office might act nice, but they are deceitful by nature; especially Rachel. Called security tonight and the number they have on their voice-​mail is for a company they fired 2 months ago, so basically I have to listen to boom-​boom-​boom all night.
I can only pray that UDR replaces current management with individuals that are qualified to manage an apartment complex.
It’s not a coincidence that bad reviews keep flowing in, you will regret it if you move here. I count the days until my lease is up and I can move out!

Zero Stars! I had to check one because it wouldn’t let me post othewise. I don’t Unilocal much, if at all, but this one deserves my attention. We lived here for two years. We are low pretty key tenants, rent always paid on time, no drama. Loved the apartment and its amenities. Maintenance staff have always been pretty prompt and courteous in fixing things. Dirty carpets? Did you know that if requested (on-​line), they will steam clean your carpets for you free of charge? Your carpet will look like new! Maintenance staff manager’s concern for the tenants, pretty genuine.
On the other hand I could say less about the leasing management staff. From my personal experience, they can be pretty dishonest and greedy. Off the bat, a majority of the 5 star reviews on here are prompted. The management has posted flyers encouraging the tenants to post on Unilocal to promote the apartment building in exchange for a chance to win prizes. This is against Unilocal’s General Guidelines, under Conflict of Interest, by the way.
From the start we had encountered problem after problem with the office staff. Miscommunication was one of them. I knew my payday was going to land on a Wednesday one week after rent was due. After pre-​arranging a late rent payment with one of the office managers (name unmentioned), we found a 3 day/​unlawful detainer taped onto our door. When we confronted them about it, she claimed she did not know about it. Panicked in having received this notice, we ended up paying our rent earlier than what was pre-​arranged. In addition, they asked us to put up an extra $$$ for their attorney fees (for typing up the notice). Back then, not knowing any better, we paid it.
We have had our guest’s car (with hanging guest passes) illegally towed. It was pointed out directly to the tow company by the same manager I am speaking of above. Instead of an apology, we got attitude. It cost me $$$ that evening to pull my guests cars out of the tow yard. When they realized they were in the wrong, this particular manager was no where to be found. She was rotated to another location for training we were told. For a year we were given the run around about being refunded. Still nothing!
We moved because of the issues we encountered above. The stress was not worth it.
They will try to dupe you out of your deposit. They tried to charge us an outrageous amount on our final bill to try to scare us into giving up our deposit. That is how they keep your deposit guys! Don’t let them do it! Legally you are entitled to receive your ENTIRE deposit when you move out. They are only allowed to deduct for damages that are «beyond» normal wear and tear, any rent owed, or if you leave it less clean than when you moved in (minus normal wear and tear). They tried to charge us unreasonably for heavy cleaning, new carpets, new wood floors. We hired their housekeeper, Serafina, prior to moving out and what she didn’t clean, I cleaned better. Take pictures if you clean. Management submitted pictures to us of the apartment dirtied up, after we moved out. Laugh out loud! Talk about dishonest! Please look up the California Tenants guide and know your rights.
Tip: After giving your 30 day notice to move, make sure you do the initial inspection with management. This is where you and the landlord do a walk through and go over what he/​she is planning to charge you for. Take before and after pictures of everything before you hand back the keys on move out day. Document everything.

Great property! Been here two months now, management is very prompt and facility is amazing! I use the gym and rooftop pool all the time. OC is known to have lots of calcium in the water, for dishwasher use jet dry and lime away with cascade and ull be good ;)

So far, so good. We moved in a couple of weeks ago and so far we are MUCH happier than we were next door at Avalon Anaheim Stadium apartments. The place is much nicer, cleaner — it even SMELLS better. We left a styrofoam mess in the hallways in front of our door for a few minutes and someone was out there vacuuming before we had a chance to get to it. Maintenance is great and fast. Staff is friendly and here seven days a week. Neighbors are really friendly. We get our morning coffee at the huge coffee maker in the game room. Pool table and equipment is in good repair.
I could go on and on. But I won’t. Will post an update after we’ve been here a while.
Just wish this place had a spa.

Hi,
I went over to 1818 Platinum Triangle Luxury Apartment Homes a couple of days ago to see what they had to offer apartment wise.
I knew they were a fairly new building and the location, right in the corner of the parking lot of Anaheim Stadium, was very appealing.
I had actually visited the building a couple of years ago to look at their apartment models but was so put off by the rental people, I thought there would be no way I would live there. The employees were very snooty and the prices for their one bedroom units was crazy high!
I was hoping things had changed.
I walked in the door of the building and quickly learned the attitude of the girls working there had not changed. They’re still very much had an attitude of we are way too good and we are doing you a favor of showing you our models!
Even with the bad attitude, I wanted to take a look around.
The models are very pretty. They have very nice amenities including a rooftop pool and BBQ area.
But, the prices are SOOOOOO high, that nothing could be worth what they wanted to live in that community. That and the negative reviews posted here quickly help to make up my mind.
Basically $ 1900 for a small 1 bedroom apartment. Are you kidding me?!
There is no way the place was that nice.
Times have not changed at 1818. Still snooty and way over priced!
