Planet Fitness – Anaheim – West Katella Ave

Just a side note on some complaints I see online that’s it’s too cold in some gyms: It’s better to train in the cold or cooler temps — if needed put on a sweatshirt; who wants to workout in a hot and stuffy gym?

I was looking for a planet fitness to workout and I googled planet fitness in Anaheim. It showed up Katella but not east or west. I called up and Maria assisted very nicely. I checked in and Maria was at the front desk with a nice smile and greeting. As I said before in my reviews of planet fitness, the people are very friendly. Customer Service is a big part of a successful business and Planet Fitness understands this.
The facilities are better than most PFs. The hydromassage area is exceptional — it looks like the staff and members with the Black Card take care of the machines.
I have had memberships at every major gym in CA starting with Jack LaLane, then Nautilus Plus, Holiday Spa, Sports Connection, Spectrum, Golds, World, Bull Dog, LA, 24, and others — these teams at PF win with a Smile and Service.
Best Kept Secret in the Fitness Industry is Planet Fitness. Thank you again PF and Maria.

I’ve been a member for 1 year so far I like this gym no problems, it’s crowded sometimes that’s about it.

I really like coming here ! service is always Great ! except For now I just finished my work out ! 10 mins before closing went to buy a water ! And the worker told me «register is closed» (With Attitude). I really suggest not closing the register till about 5 mins after closing I mean, it is a work out place, people are gonna be thirsty after working out. Sunday, May 1 2016. 7:00

This review is not really just about the gym but all of planet fitness in general. I signed up for the black card membership the 20 $ a month membership which I thought the price was great. After almost two years I decided to cancel and mind you I was not on a contract but the moment I decided to cancel them they charged me 60 $ for cancellation and they said if I didn’t pay I would get send to collections. I don’t want stupid planet fitness to give me bad credit so I paid. Beware of these scammers. The gym overall sucks anyways. Not enough equipment and I’m not a gym freak either.

SCAM ALERT ANAHEIM PLANET FITNESS GYM******Crooks. Called me saying i signed up for an account over a year and said i owe !$ 160!!! I said oh really. Is there a reason that you waited a year to contact me… Pause Pause… You owe a $ 160 how would you like to pay for it… I laughed… LOL– If you were really concerned. Told them I didnt sign up for nothing, they said how do you want to pay for this… i told them im not paying for something that i didnt use or have any recollection signing and the fact that you let me know a year later. Have not emailed me once. I checked. Called me at all. I have the same number. Proves one of two things. 1. Your incompetent company is just now getting on the ball to contacting accounts that are over a year old. 2. You are attempting to run a scam on people by contacting them a year for some money that is not owed to you. Told me i would have to file a police report. On who? you. Hope you like the bad pub… Your not the only cheap gym anymore. And I’m not done writing reviews. I will be filing with the bbb, scamalert and whatever else I can do to warn people of this illegitimate gym. BUYER BEWARE IN OC… Forget the Lunk Alert watch out for the sleazy sales SCAMS that a failing business will use to get some extra dough. FDCPA watch these people. My favorite location so far, theres even kettlebells, medicine balls, and battle ropes at the back of the gym. Pretty sweet setup compared to other pf locations.

This planet fitness is a really nice location. It gets packed, but not really. I usually come in late at night so there’s no wait on machines. It’s really convenient that it’s ²⁴⁄₅ (but they close early on Fridays, so it’s not really 24/​)
I hope they can extend it so that it’s ²⁴⁄₇ someday!

Some guy at the front desk asked me if he could take my photo for my membership and I politely asked if I could do it tomorrow (since I didn’t look very presentable) and while I was talking he took it anyway and laughed about it!!!
I get it, it’s your job and you need to make sure people aren’t sneaking in others or sharing a pass but dude!
There’s a way to do things and that was unprofessional.
Changed my opinion about this gym completely.
Otherwise the facility is well kept and the rest of the staff is cool.
Only downside about their hours is they close at 7pm on Saturdays and Sunday’s. A little too early for me.

Horrible customer service I just moved from Rancho Santa margarita and was looking for a close by gym to my home … I’m a member of 24 hour fitness and never had a issue with them. But unfortunately I do not live close to one so I decided to check this gym out with the low rates tanning and other features I was excited until I walked in and waited 15 min in a crowd of 8 people no one greeted me or acknowledged me until one of the reps said «do you have questions on this club ?» And membership … I said yes and he told me to wait at a table … Seriously ?.. I just walked out … They need more people in the front and more info on the gun itself I will never ever step in one of these guns again.

Nice clean facility. No wait for machines, and the manager is very professional and courteous to new potential members. Great place to work out!

This gym is clean and there is a variety of equipment. However, it is quite small.
What I didn’t like is that there is no where to stretch. At other Planet Fitness gyms I’ve visited, they have mats on the floor, a stretching cage, and some other stretching equipment. In addition, they are also missing the Total Body Enhancement that’s at other Planet Fitness gyms.
I also think the weekend hours suck!!! Their website says they are open ²⁴⁄₇ like the other Planet Fitness gyms. However, that’s not true. On the weekends they are only open 7 – 7.
Lastly, they have some cool shirts on display — a lot of them. However, you cannot purchase them. Why display stuff you can’t buy. If I wanted to go on the website, I would do that – just not cool at all. One more thing, the front desk girl that worked this past weekend is not very friendly at all.

Its a nice small gym. Very clean. What i didn’t like is where you lay down to do your bench press. Other than that, everything was great. Bathroom was clean and there are plenty to take a shower. I had a lot of great workout and i highly recommend this gym to people who are starters at getting into fitness

Been here a few times already.
Clean, quiet area. Good equipments. And so far, friendly staff members. I’m always greeted whenever I come in and I honestly don’t feel like I’m constantly being watched like I was back when I gymed on my school’s campus. I feel comfortable here and I’m glad it’s $ 20 a month (Black Card Member) for full accessibility! I’m fully aware of the annual fees and whatnot, so I don’t find that a huge deal. I’ve heard about cancellation fees, but I doubt I’ll need to deal with that any time soon. Happy here and glad I finally made the decision to join!

How is this place ²⁴⁄₅ when you close at 9pm on Fridays??? This has become an issue way too often. Time to go jogging for free rather than use my membership.

good gym. good location (easy to find), good equipment and layout, good amount of machines and not a lot of meatheads. the 30 min circuit section is really convenient, and so are the 10 min ab stations.
locker rooms are sufficiently sized and tanning booths are great touch.
one star knocked off for it’s location in this plaza. next door to a teppanyaki and in the same lot as M&M donuts? Are you kidding me? Might as well die. LOL.

I used to come to this gym, and it’s good for your basic cardio, but other than that, you’re better off going to another gym if you want classes and more variety in gym equipment. I ended up switching gyms to Chuze down the street. For $ 10 more, you get more gym equipment (i.e. kettlebells, medicine balls, more weight lifting equipment, stairmaster, cinema cardio room AND super fun classes!).
I mean, this gym is good for anyone who is just starting and is intimidated by the gym, but for those who want more out of their gyms, just chuck out the extra $ 10/​month and go to Chuze. Also, side note, I really wish they’d get rid of their lunk alarm. Not only is it distracting, but for some people who don’t know what it is, it scares them because they think it’s a fire alarm or something (true story, lady in the lockers was freaking out because she thought it was a fire alarm). Also, the gym is clean, but not as clean as before; sometimes the paper towels run out and the bottles of cleaner is empty, trash cans are full. You won’t get that at Chuze.

The Good: $ 10 a month, no hardcore bodybuilders or muscleheads.
The Bad: Members who don’t put the weights and/​or mats back, gym and dumbbell stations can get crowded, idiots who put paper towels in the toilet, guys taking a dump don’t give a courtesy flush, urinals have occasional problems (usually idiots who put stuff in the drain are the cause)
The Ugly: Guys occasionally grunt loudly when lifting.

For 10 bucks a month it’s a great deal!
I love trying all gyms in my area.
personally I love my 24 hour fitness.
But for 10 bucks it has free weights up to 75lbs
4 smith machines and plenty of weight machines
If you love running this is the place to be! Plenty of cardio equipment!
Free classes are available the gym is really clean
Perfect gym if you enjoy not feeling judged and want to start lifting weights !

I have only been coming here for a couple of months but I have already developed a great relationship with this gym. Planet Fitness is smaller than other gyms I have had memberships with in the past (Bally, L.A. Fitness) but thats not necessarily a bad thing.
If you are like me and not looking for a bunch of heavy lifting, weight bags, swimming, and various sports (Racquetball, Basketball etc…) and just want to focus on cardio then Planet Fitness would be perfect for you. The place has a ton of treadmills, ellipticals, bikes and even a 30 minute workout center focusing on all parts of the body. The do have free weights as well although the section is small.
Other ammenities include lockers with showers, massage chairs and tanning booths as well as drinks and merchandise available at the desk. The gym also has numerous televisions with which you can plug your headphones into or tune to the FM station of your choice which is nice. Planet Fitness is known for intimidation free workouts where you do not need to look like a body builder to come in, get your exercise in and leave without feeling bad about yourself. They also offere free training sessions to black card members as well as unlimited guests.
My experience so far has been great, I can always find the equipment I need with no hassle, I can get my work in, listen to music and feel good about myself without having to worry about people staring or trying to bring you down. Give them a try and see for yourself, if you are tired of the big gyms where you cant find equipment then Planet Fitness may be for you.
