I took a potential purchase in for a pre-​buy inspection. Front desk lady was very nice and knowledgeable. They got me in and out in a little over an hour and explained the issues with the truck in detail. I avoided purchasing a lemon thanks to these guys! Will go back and recommend to friends. Pre-​buy inspection wasn’t horrible either, only $ 98.

L & M Motors Inc helped me out once again with Quick service, I called ahead to get my tire replace and change out, they got right on it, In and out in 15 minutes and did a safety check on all my tires too ,
put them at the right pressure, and checked my brakes also, nice job to all ‚

I can’t say enough good things about this business. Both of our vehicles broke down within days of each other and my family was stuck without a vehicle. They got my second vehicle fixed the next day so we would have a vehicle, and fixed the first vehicle the next day.
There is a reason these guys have been around so long. I’ve been to pretty much every garage in town and I can say without a doubt this is THE BEST PLACE TO GET YOUR VEHICLE WORKED ON!!! The prices are the best and the quality of the work is top notch. They told me what I absolutely need to fix and what could wait. I can’t believe business’s like this still exist to be honest. Christine at the front desk is a sweetheart that has complete understanding of whatever your situation is. I cannot thank them enough for helping us out. I will never take my vehicle to any other place in town.
If you need vehicle work done you owe it to yourself to at least get a quote from these guys. I happened across these guys on Unilocal after I got screwed by Midas so I figure people actually read these things. L & M Motors has been, hands down, the best auto ship I have ever experienced. Christine at the front desk is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I have had my tires and oil changed and had several maintenance repairs done there and every time it has been an easy and pleasant experience. I have shopped around for quotes in the Anchorage area too and no one has ever beat these guys. They are ethical, honest, straight-​forward, and hard working. So we started hearing a high pitched noise from the back brakes on a trip to anchorage from seward, after checking out another local shop who was extremely rude I jumped on Unilocal and stumbled across these lovely people. They got me in right away just to take a peek, saying they couldn’t fit me in till later but would take a look just to see if it was still safe to drive and what to expect. I went here for a $ 1,000 tune up in January and recently went back because my car had a slow oil leak and the check engine light was on. I called to tell them I was going to be late and dropped the car off at 10am. They said it was no problem; they’d have time to look at it. I walked two miles to work. 5:30pm came and they hadn’t looked at it. I hesitantly agreed to reschedule for later in the week. I dropped it off at 9:00am and received a call at 4:30pm – a technical had just looked at it; it needed a new oil pan but they couldn’t do that day. I was pissed that they didn’t prioritize my car after they failed to look at it the first day. I scheduled a third appointment, but didn’t show up. Rather, I went to R&R Garage and they told me whoever changed the oil last (L&M) didn’t tighten the oil pan plug enough – it was the cause of the leak. They tightened the plug, added more oil, ran the car, and the leak was fixed. I didn’t need a new oil pan! For these reasons, I’m highly disappointed with L&M’s customer service and technicians.

Christine is so helpful and the sweetest lady! These guys are amazing! They are honest about what is being done to your car and don’t overcharge you like dealerships! I just moved up to Alaska and plan on using these guys forever. Definitely recommend their service and expertise.

Took my PT cruiser in for a tune up and a crankshaft position sensor change. Almost every step of the way they kept me informed and they let me know there was a head gasket leak that needed to be fixed. Thank you! They were friendly, knowledgeable; I will be taking my car back to them for future services.

I’ve been here twice and had such a good experience with both visits. The staff are both friendly and professional as well as proficient! Even when getting quoted for services, L&M is typically less expensive and you still get great quality!

They used to be great. I took my car there from 2009 – 2012 and the service was great and the repair men were reputable.
But they went downhill this year. The woman that answers the phone is very rude and they are disorganized. I made my appointment for Tuesday to get my tires changed. If you make an appointment, they do it within an hour, which is really convenient for me. The lady that took my appointment was rude and unhelpful. I almost canceled right then, but I have had so many good experiences there, I overlooked it. Then a work conflict came up, so I called and rescheduled my appointment for today. I got there. A man was at the front desk and was very nice — said I was at the top of the list and knew my car make and model. I gave him my keys, signed a paper and said I would be back in an hour. I came back an hour and 15 minutes later and my car had not been touched. I went to the front desk and the lady seemed confused and said all of the employees were at lunch. And then she looked at her schedule and apparently they had not updated my appointment from Tuesday to Thursday and told me that was why my car had not been looked at yet.
A call would have been nice! And I don’t know why the man at the front desk didn’t tell me that there was a problem in the first place.

Trustworthy, Honest and on-​time! Big 5 star service from the owner and crew at L&M Motors for our recent repair. They identified the problem correctly, which the dealership and local big tire chain couldn’t. L&M Crew very professional work with no run around or over selling repairs. Highly recommend L&M Motors for all your auto repairs. I’ll be a long time customer of theirs for sure!

Brought a used car into L&M for a buyer’s inspection based on Unilocal and Car Talk’s Mechanic’s Files. Seems like the shop may be at capacity with the amount of cars it serves, so there’s a bit of a frenetic energy at the front desk, but Mike (the owner, I presume) is incredibly helpful. Despite the fact that he seems to be overseeing all of the work at the shop and keeping everyone else on task, he takes the time to talk to customers and share as much of his knowledge as they’d like. That’s rare in a mechanic. He gave us the different levels of Bluebook values for the car and offered to do so over the phone for any other cars we looked at. He also priced out what he thought the car was worth, factoring in the possibility of further issues with the car.
L&M seems like a mechanic shop only interested in doing an honest day’s work. They aren’t cheap, but they deliver. Better than going with a cheap garage while always wondering if you *really* needed that work to be done… or whether your car will seize up on the freeway.

I’m glad I found this shop thru Unilocal.I’ve taken my 4Runner twice already to get repairs after driving from CA to AK. Mike noticed that I had a military address and gave me the military discount without me asking. Friendly customer rep in Wendy. Always a great to find a family, local-​owned business to give business to. I recommend calling ahead as the place gets busy.

Only shop in town that knew how to install a rebuilt tranny on an older BMW 635csi. Their competitor across the street took months to make no progress on my car, but Mike and L&M took care of me in a matter of days.
The second time I came in, they found a fuel leak that I was smelling right away. I was sent on my way an hour later with a new fuel line installed.
Very professional work, no gimmicks, and Wendy at the service desk is always extremely friendly.
I highly recommend L&M Motors, they seem to really know their way around cars…

Firstly, I can’t believe no one has reviewed this fine company.
I’ve had 4 vehicles worked on at L&M’s and their great service keeps me their longtime customer.
There has been 2 different times when I brought my cars in for tune-​ups and both times they had the cars lifted, looked at and BOTH times didn’t charge me a cent since it was their honest opinion that my vehicles didn’t needed to be tuned up.
Tell me if your mechanic would do this for you?

I’ve also seen a Silver Shadow being worked on in their shop. If a Rolls-​Royce owner trusts L&M for his toys, I can trust them with my rice grinder.
