Never got to actually experience their services, the operator is very brief and rude and hangs up on me. I kept calling and it loops in this «for English press 1″ and i believe when finally an operator picks up, they hang up on me» if they dont actually care about the health of people calling them, why advertise they offer services??? for whom, the people that can call 20 times??? I am re-​thinking their funding, funding for what? never answering the phone and having rude people to deal with?

Planned Parenthood gets a lot of bum raps and protesters that are totally undeserved. When I went here it was for my regular annual exam. I didn’t have health insurance so I needed something I could afford — the sliding scale definitely helped.
I was also able to pick up birth control pills here each month instead of paying regular retail price at the pharmacy. The ‘service’ and exams are a little more ‘drive-​thru’ than having a regular personal physician, but they take care of what’s intended.

So, the protesters can’t bother you right at the door because they aren’t allowed to, though you will pass them by standing at the border from where they are prohibited — they are not allowed to enter the cul de sac leading to the building. I’ve also had someone chase me to the door once, which was bad.
I’ve come here for a range of services, including pelvic exams and counseling to discuss options. They also hosted sign-​ups for Plan First, which is health insurance for women who might not be able to afford it. It’s a good thing to look into. When I found out I was pregnant, I realized their support system was more for women who will decide to have an abortion. I was keeping my baby, and so I had to get counseling elsewhere. Also know that if you came to Planned Parenthood with someone you do not feel safe with or with someone who you feel will not support whatever decision you make, they will help you be safe from that person.
Everything is paid on a scale, you can pay then or be billed if you cannot afford it up front. You can get testing done here — STDs and pregnancy. Also, very importantly — you can get your annual pelvic exam done here, which is of utmost importance for women.
While most of my experiences here have been positive, I was annoyed when I called and specifically was told I didn’t have to cancel my pelvic exam when I found out I was pregnant. So I went to my exam, but it turns out they are not allowed to examine women who are pregnant — what a giant waste of time. It was not easy for me to get there. Also when I called to «discuss my options», the operator was a little snide with me and asked «Discuss your options or schedule an abortion?» Don’t let that scare you from going to them, they have great services.
