Specialties
I am a Certified Bob Ross instructor, teaching the Joy of Painting «wet on wet» technique featured on PBS. My web address is jopwithpat.com. There you can find information about scheduled painting demonstrations, currently scheduled classes and sections where you can buy some of our art work.
In addition to scheduled classes, I can also make arrangements for private instruction at a location of mutual convenience.
I am a Certified Landscape Instruction. You will also find floral paintings on the site, painted by my wife, Wanda Alsup, who is a CRFI (Certified Ross Floral Instructor) but she is not currently offering classes. She is happy just to sell her work. The other item that is growing in popularity is my Synthetic Ceramics, where I take photographs and turn them into simulated ceramic tiles. Many of the tiles offered for sale are from my photos, but you will see that I also can take one of your favorite pictures and create a beautiful wall hanging that is good to give or keep.
History
Established in 1998.
I had watched Bob Ross on his Joy of Painting program aired on PBS for many years. He always invites the viewer to paint along and I would think «Sure Bob. You Bet» knowing I had no ability in this area. I finally had an opportunity to take a class while traveling in AZ and was hooked. Two years later, I was taking my Certification Classes and soon was teaching. I have taught in my own studio when living in Twin Falls, ID, in dozens of RV Parks throughout AZ. Many have taken classes at college workshops I have taught, or have met me in some of the craft stores that employed my skills. Over the years I have introduced this technique to hundreds of first time students many of whom have since become excellent artists or even an instructor. It has been fun and very rewarding.

Business Owner
Born and raised in Cody Wyoming. Attended the Univ of WY on a football scholarship but back surgery ended that endowment and resulted in my first job as a Manager Trainee in the Consumer Finance industry. I progressed into management and later became a Sales Supervisor and a Division Manager. Later careers include running my own independent telephone directory, Realtor, and then an Art Instructor. I love photography, riding my Goldwing Motorcycle and traveling. I am married to Wanda and we will soon celebrate 50 years together. We have two sons, who live in Idaho and who both make us proud parents.
