North Carolina-​based jewelry, accessory and lifestyle brand Moon and Lola has graced the

pages of InStyle, Lucky, People StyleWatch and O Magazine and can be found in the company’s four retail locations. Our jewelry is designed and made within our production studio in Apex, NC. We are greatly recognized for personalized jewelry that can be customized for each person that visits our shop. The New York Times featured Moon and Lola Raleigh in their article ’36 hours in Raleigh’ as one of their must-​see shops! Also, we were featured on Oprah’s Favorite Things 2015 and 2014.

History

Established in 2012.

Jewelry designer, Kelly Shatat, founded the North Carolina based jewelry brand with one mission: to make people happy. A self-​proclaimed color enthusiast and lover of all things lighthearted, Kelly designs to inspire and create moments of joy. The name Moon and Lola originated from the nicknames Kelly and her best friend used while in college. The name captures the playful essence that the brand embodies. Her best friend encouraged her o pursue her creative dreams and step away from being a pharmacist. When she stepped away from practicing pharmacy, she saw the brand grow and blossom into what it is today.

Shatat, a Raleigh, North Carolina native and graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, launched the line in 2003 after a successful career as a pharmaceutical sales rep and clinical pharmacist. It was Shatat’s creative spirit, coupled with her passion and love for all things Southern and traditional, that drove her to begin designing and handcrafting jewelry best defined as being classic with a modern twist — the first being hand-​tied pearl necklaces with interchangeable ribbons in a variety of colors. It was from there that the Moon and Lola line quickly flourished and designs grew to include lightweight filigree earrings, vintage-​inspired necklaces and bracelets, and specialty personalized pieces, including the company’s highly successful collection of metal and colorful acrylic monograms and initial offerings, which are handcrafted and assembled by the company’s skilled jewelry artisans in its Apex, North Carolina production studio.
