My husband and I met Nicola Speranta nearly 13 years ago at an open house in North Monrovia. I was eight months pregnant and we needed to find a bigger home to accommodate our growing family. Within days, our current home was on the market and we were hunting for a new house (our purchase was contingent on the sale of our home). Within two weeks, our home was sold (above the asking price) and we were in escrow with our new house. This could not and would not have happened if we were not working with such a seasoned realtor. My sister, brother and I sold the house we all grew up in this year due to the passing of our parents. We interviewed three prospective realtors before choosing which one to go with. Nicola by far came the most prepared. She brought lots of market data with recent sales, trends and what buyers interested in this area are looking for. We were impressed with her presentation and she left us a lot of information to review. Our home was somewhat difficult to comp because all of the houses in the neighborhood are custom.
We chose to go with Nicola and we’re glad we did.
We soon set a meeting to go over the market again and come up with a plan. She made recommendations on what needed remodeling, painting and how to stage the house. It was all based on getting the most money for what we were to put into it and we went with nearly of of her recommendations. The pictures and marketing materials she put together were top-​notch.
Soon after it went on the market we had offers. We went with the highest offer, which also happened to be the most qualified buyers and very near our asking price. Overall the escrow went fairly smooth. However, as in any transaction, there were a couple glitches on the buyer’s side. But Nicola negotiated some terms that would keep the escrow moving forward while putting most of the risk of loss on the buyers. She really worked hard on our behalf. The escrow ultimately closed without any major issues.
Selling the only home we’ve known was tough. But with Nicola’s expertise, our parting with the home ended on a good note.
