Bought a beautiful used Durham furniture entertainment center that I use as an armoire. I love it and staff was wonderful and wrapped it for us. Great people to do business with.

Kim’s Resale and Consignment Shop is a treasure. There are so many great pieces of furniture many of them of fine quality with brands like Henredon, Ethan Allan, Stanley, etc… If you are looking for an eclectic piece to go with your décor this is the place. Paintings, vases, side chairs and small tables are tucked away between larger pieces like cabinets and fine dining tables. Kim and her husband are kind and helpful. I found a beautiful cabinet I was able to put on hold, for a small fee, so that I could be sure it would fit in my new home. Unfortunately it did not and I needed to take it off hold. Kim was kind and understanding and refunded my hold money, no judgement. I will return and put Kim’s Resale on my list of favorite spaces to shop. They will also deliver and pick up furniture. Great place!

After purchasing an old solid wood trunk last night, which is my third purchase from Kim’s already, I wondered why haven’t I left a review on Unilocal?I love this place. My wife and I come here whenever we are looking for a new addition to our apartment. This place has beautiful oriental furniture, many tables, desks, and cabinets, and, most of all, sweet owners! I recommend to check it out whenever you need to purchase used classic, decorative, or oriental furniture.

Kim is a very friendly, patient person to deal with. The store is filled with mostly higher end furniture. Although haven’t found exactly what I want yet, the merchandise stock seems to move in and out quit frequently enough that I know its just a matter of time before we do find something and will be sure to come back for a purchase.

I usually dont write a review unless I feel I need too. I have been looking for a grandfather clock for sometime, and i saw a grandfather CLOCK on EBAY(that was just put up and listed hours ago) under 2000 $ which for a like new no scratch 8 Foot grandfather clock(Howard Miller) in unheard of and saw the clock was close to my residense, whithout thinking i ran over there to look and buy it right away before someone else saw it. When I arrived KIM? was there to give me a huge greeting, i told her i was there for the clock. When i saw the clock there was not a scratch on it very well taken care of, she then informed me that she just reduced the price, and to be honest i would have bought it for the price she had it at before but hell. I asked her if i could place a down payment on it and come back friday to pick it up, because of course if bring the wrong credit card… She had not a problem with that at all. I My buddy and I arrived SATURDAY and talk about customer service, the only thing her and her husband didnt do was put my seatbelt on when i got into the truck. The clock weighs a good 200 pounds and her husband and my buddy put it in the truck(already shipped packed boxed) and KIM? seemed like she wanted to do more, and more and more, at one point she prob would have drove the truck back to my house it seemed like! And thats what HONESTLY shocked me to no end! The only problem i had was carrying the dam thing in my condo building in the city with it not fitting in the elevator and carrying it up flights of stairs! There are some very very high quality furniture there, things you wont find anywhere else which thats how i found all my furniture ill buy it without thinking. There are somethings there little over priced but hey you wont find it anywhere else so. But looks amazing in my condo thank you both so much again and I will be back!

Quality pieces. Very pleased with our dining room purchase. She was willing to negotiate price so we could stay in our price range. Very friendly and helpful when packing van for haul away. Kim(I’m assuming) was very courteous and had two guys wrap up our table and load up our van. She gave us extra blankets/plastics to protect our purchase for the hour plus ride home. Would buy here again.

Over the years the prices in this resale store, located in a strip mall in Arlington Heights have gone from affordable to ridiculous. With the variety of resale stores in the Northwest Suburbs, there are numerous other options for finding better bargains. Kim’s inventory tends to be heavily from the 1980’s and if you are a Pinterest/DIY decorator you can find some pieces to rehab, however at a cost. Skip Kim’s and check out the Goodwill stores in Northbrook and on Algonquin in AH and Treasure Hunt Resale in Schaumburg for better furniture, art and lamp bargains.

Sometimes I get so excited about a business that I can’t wait to get home and review it and sometimes I make a conscience decision to not review a place right away so no one runs out and buys out any of the sh*t I want to buy but haven’t had a chance to yet. Kim’s Resale & Consignment Shop is defo a case of the latter. So now that I officially own the monster coffee table of my dreams, I feel it’s my duty to tell y’all about a AH’s best kept secret. Kim’s is actually a set of two storefronts within the same strip mall off Windsor and Palatine. I can’t lie, from the outside looking in, this place looks like a dump and a half– and this is coming from a person who’s practically a Salvation Army and Good Will ambassador. I’d driven by many a time and thanked my lucky stars that I could(or so I thought) afford to buy furniture from places that don’t have newspaper, neon poster board and pawn shop style neon signs covering the windows, then one day I was doing a desperate Unilocal search after a long day of home goods and furniture shopping and saw that my girl Nicole W had left a great tip for Kim’s on Unilocal mobile and that my other girl Sarah S had given Kim’s 5-sexy stars and mentioned affordable name-brand furniture. It was decided– instead of stopping at the dozens of other furniture outlets along the Rand/Palatine strip here, we were going to Kim’s, the best little Korean furniture resale shop in Arlington Heights, Il! We walked in the first store and immediately saw Mama Kim. Needless to say, I was elated to finally get to meet Little Kim, and yes, her chests are pretty fine. So we take a look around and are pretty shocked by the prices of what are some really great high-end 2nd-time-around pieces. Quality couches that might as well have been new for under $ 500. Ethan Allen armchairs, gorgeous armoires and some really unique chests(as mentioned above). There was one set of chests(all sold separately) that were around the $ 200 and looked like something you’d see at Anthropologie for $ 3,600. Wood painted this antique dandelion yellow with brass metalwork around the draw corners. I took a few pics, but I don’t think they do Kim’s chests justice. Another thing I noticed is that while the really chic and rustic-romantic pieces were prices so unbelievably well, you’d see a small ceramic jaguar-mounting-a-jungle-tree-trunk statue and it’d look like something from a dollar store, but it’d be priced at $ 900. It was like a really hilarious shopping bizarro world where the thing you love isn’t the most outrageously expensive thing in the store and the thing that looks like a heap of junk is priced for princes or curious sentimental value. I don’t know how they judge the worth of goods here, but I like it. In the second storefront(further down the strip mall) there were a lot less desirable items unless you’re doing the whole 80s throwback thing and looking to live it up like Steve Gutenburg circa ’87. We did one circle and were about to leave when we decided to go back in and point out some more funny ceramic items when I spotted it. My white whale. It was the most gorgeous one-of-a-kind, hand-made giant farm-door style coffee table painted a steel-blue with charming vintage imperfections hidden behind a gaudy-ass 10-foot heart-artwork backed wicker couch and under 3 other coffee tables. I fell in love first and then I looked at the price of this beautiful behemoth that I simply couldn’t live without aaaand… it was a f*cking steal. That table would’ve been upwards of $ 1,500 anywhere else and it was on sale at Kim’s for $ 195. Sacrebleu! Where do I swipe my card? Okay, it wasn’t quite that impulsive a buy. I flagged down the roomie boo to check it out. He couldn’t believe that table was marked with price either, but it was a really big purchase– not so much considering the price but more-so the actually size. We measured it to be sure and Little Miss Kim helped us out with moving some of the stuff so we could see more of the details and the drawers with re-purposed steal knobs and we checked with Little Kim to see what their hours were the next day since it was late on a Saturday and we were drained from a day of up-until-that-point fruitless furniture shopping. Turns out Kim’s is closed on Sunday, so I made plans to come by right at opening on Monday to buy the f*ck out of that table and then the manz came by the next evening with his not-compact-car to pick our new coolest piece of furniture(which before this was a cat tree). Both Mr and Mrs Kim were wonderful. So friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us and make getting out new prized possession back to our pad as easy peasy as possible.

A friend recommended this place awhile back and since I pride myself on getting amazing goods at a budget, I gave it a shot. So glad I did. I was in need of some end tables and some pizzazz in cove. The ones I had just took up too much space in my little condo and were not doing it for me anymore. Anywho, I already had what I wanted in my mind and came here and voila — found it. Classy, cute and trendy all at once. No one has to know it’s used and they would never be able to tell, anyway. I also picked up a few items for décor. :) The owner is such a sweet«Mom-type» Lady and very helpful. I kinda wanna keep this a secret, but at the same time, let the whole world know about this gem. Ok world, you win — go here and find that perfect piece you’ve been searching for… and maybe an extra one too for fun.

For quality namebrand furniture, this is the best in terms of price, quality and style. The staff is great & very knowledgeable about their items. A great store for bargain hunters!
