I failed my emissions test, so having just started to work in the downtown Arlington Heights area, I hopped on Unilocal to find a good mechanic near my office to fix my issue, and look over my car as long as I had to bring it in anyways. Gotta say, all the Unilocal reviews of Mike and his garage were spot on.
I called to make an appointment for my repair and off the bat could tell Mike had an awesome personality. Such a nice guy. He listened to what I was saying and when I brought my car in he reviewed what we talked about on the phone, not forgetting a thing. Called me a few hours later, went over REASONABLE pricing (that’s in caps to emphasize that I knew for all I was having done, the quote was totally legit), timing to get the repairs done, and made sure to ask if I had any questions or concerns whatsoever.
I went to pick up my vehicle after work, and Mike went over what was done, fully explained in terms that I understood, without making me feel dumb (he treated me like a person. Plenty of mechanics have spoken to me in the past like I was a complete idiot), and told me what could potentially happen down the line and what to look for/​be aware of. Even had a few laughs, which was well needed after a long Monday.
I’ve found my new mechanic! The shop does oil changes too for similar, if not slightly cheaper, than the big name oil change places.
I will definitely be back and recommend Mike to anyone that asks «hey, you got a guy you go to for your car?»

Absolutely amazing customer service and knowledge. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone and everyone who needs work done on their car. Very honest, and Mike took the time out of his day to explain to me the part that had gone bad and actually showed me pictures on Google of what the exact part even did! Even pulled out my old part and showed me where it failed.

Quick, efficient service. My car was leaking oil, so I came here for an oil change and to get the oil leak checked out. Was able to get in the same day that I called. Easiest, least stressful trip to an auto repair shop ever. Mike was very nice and explained the issue (luckily it wasn’t a big deal). I am much happier to give my $$ to this local place and will be recommending this shop in the future.

I found Mike’s Garage after reading the reviews on Unilocal and I’m paying it forward with another positive one! Mike is extremely knowledgeable and very fair. He presented me with a few options on repairing some rusted pieces to my exhaust system that made my car sound like a helicopter taking off. Another place quoted me an arm and a leg for much more involved work. Mike fixed the problem in a cost effective way and now people don’t duck for cover when I pull up to a stop light… thanks Mike!

I brought my 1998 chevy k1500 with 200k miles to Mikes Garage. Based on my description of the issue, Mike was able to diagnose the problem. Mike took the time to explain his diagnosis to me. Thanks to Mike and his mechanics my truck runs great! Thanks guys and keep up the great work!!!

Mikes Garage is the best ! I woke up one morning and my car wouldn’t start. It was in my garage and it wouldn’t move. So I called the shop and Mike answered the phone. He said Ill be over in minutes to check out the car. Come to my house ??? what service !!! When he arrived he was very patient and tried every trick he knew to get my car started. .As he was trying he explained eveything he was doing and I really felt informed and at ease with him. We ended up towing the car back to his shop because it just wouldnt turn over. Back at the shop he thoroughly explained what was wrong with my car and fixed it the same day. I was extremely impressed with his customer service ! He is an honest and good man who truely wants his customers to be satisfied. This is the best service I have ever had from a mechanic I have already recommended him to all my neighbors.

Mike is truly the best mechanic in town! We were lucky enough to have a neighbor recommend his garage when we moved here from NC 3 years ago. Since then, he has serviced all of our cars and helped us make a good decision on buying our third car that was used. He gave it a good run through and is very knowledgeable on the years and makes of cars. He has always been honest & fair. We are grateful to of found him to trust. Especially with teen drivers coming of age! Mike is truly THE BEST!

Decent place to take your car. The mechanics are helpful and only offer what you need. They patched my tires, oil change and tire rotation now I’m riding pretty again. Check them out.

Mike is the best mechanic in town, bar none. He has done everything from oil and fluid changes to brakes and body work on my honda civic (he used to work at a honda dealership – /​bonus for me!) as well as replacing an entire air conditioning system on my sister’s jeep. Mike was recommended to us by my father who has an older model Honda. Mike has worked on Honda models for years and does a great job keeping my folks’ car humming. We have a Jeep and took it to Mike for service. Mike knows Jeeps well, too, even told us things to look out for in the future. He is pleasant, personable, service-​oriented and honest.
