I walk by All About Jane a couple times a week and I can usually manage to resist the torture of going into the boutique. Yeah, you heard me, TORTURE. I love just about everything here — the jewelry is all adorable, the Shoshanna dresses are precious, the Nanette Lepore stuff is of course gorgeous and how could one dislike a classic DvF wrap dress? But of course, I’ve got champagne tastes on a beer budget, so I have to zip up the(empty) purse and keep walking, making this store a bittersweet place for me. But somedays I can’t resist the urge and tonight the balloons outside the shop drew me in — what can I say, I’m a sucker for a quick marketing scheme? Turns out All About Jane was having a birthday party, and I’m thrilled I was invited. I believe it’s their 7th year now, and that meant lots of snacks and beverages(alcoholic and not!) for the weary shoppers. More importantly, it meant 15% off all jewelry and 40% off all regular priced items. Yes, that’s right, no eye exam necessary — 40% off REGULAR priced stuff. I heard another shopper comment that people must’ve bought the clothes right off the mannequins bc they had been dressed when she had walked by this morning. All About Jane had also invited local jewelry designers to the event, so they had all brought lots more goodies in addition to what the shop normally has. I really love that the boutique supports local designers. They were all super nice and with that 15% discount I couldn’t help but pick up a beautiful greenish-brown shell necklace(see for some of the designer’s stuff). This boutique is a wonderful place to treat yourself to something beautiful and of great quality and tonight’s anniversary sale showed me that they really want to treat their customers right. And I really loved that they allowed a little pug dog in with her owners and didn’t blink when another woman let her little toddler crawl around while she browsed. With the comfy seats and fashion mags, I could hang out here all the time if temptation to splurge wasn’t so strong!

All About Jane could be renamed All About Jenn because… well, I’m all about it! They carry the über cute names found in high end boutiques, but they add a funky flair with lesser-found brands on top of it all! I just picked up a great Rebecca Taylor necklace, and my shopping partner almost convinced me to also buy the same printed silk headband she was getting herself. I could’ve spent a whole lot more here, but the holidays are burning a hole in my wallet. I’ll happily visit again when that hole is smaller(and I’ll make it huge again)!

For those of you who don’t know yet, All About Jane has moved. No longer is the 243818th St NW location in DC still open. After the owner had back surgery she could no longer keep up with both stores. This one was the survivor. Love this store! This is the kind of store I try not to go to very often because I always develop a horrifying case of the«I need this, I want this, I must have this» disease. The clothes are all directly out of the fashion mags and the jewelry is always unique. I even purchased the cutest ponytail holder here once that gets SO many compliments. The problem is that it’s expensive. I spied a top tonight that I fell in love with — I quickly fell out of love when I saw the $ 200 something price tag. Good news is that right now the«Summer Sale» is going on where items are up to 50% off! I also spied a cute summer dress, and at half the price, I might just return for it.
