Love this store, the girls here have provided me excellent customer service! Sometimes I find good sales, and other times not. Love their dressing rooms and their attention to detail, also like that they let me look around without being on my back. I like to look around and think!

I didn’t like anything at the store and the customer service was not customer oriented. After coming from South Moon Under, where everyone greeted me and offered to help me, no one said hello or acknowledged my presence in the store here.

All companies with courteous and respectful employees take a step forward — not so fast Free People of Arlington. As an average guy who knows nothing about women’s clothes or fashion in general, I was hoping to get some guidance from the employees when I entered the boutique earlier this year when shopping for a present for my girlfriend. When I entered the store, there wasn’t a soul in sight — not a customer or employee. As a thief this is a welcomed sight, but as a customer it is less than ideal. After aimlessly wondering around for a few minutes, a young lady named«Alex» emerged from the back and asked if I needed any help. I explained my situation and how clueless I was regarding exactly what would pertain to my girlfriend’s taste. The clerk asked if she’d like different types of clothing and accessories and I said I wasn’t sure. Her attitude was supercilious throughout our conversation but she seemed to get increasingly impatient and irritated as I failed to give her direction on what I wanted. Eventually she got the hint and suggested some open-knit sweater that I reluctantly bought. My girlfriend was extremely happy with the sweater which is why I give this store a rating of two stars, rather than one. However, I never would have bought it in the first place if I had time to shop around.

I used to absolutely ADORE Free People since a teenager. Free People has actually been around for years and years. The designers are amazing at their comfy and sweet ideas. However, I think with time the quality of the items have decreased. After being a fan of Free People for so long, I ended up working at this exact location. I helped manage and open the store and absolutely loved the clothing. However, while working there I slowly watched so many pieces fall apart. The construction on some of the ideas are either so delicate, or simply not constructed well to the point that it falls apart and we are not talking about cheap clothes. I mean… this can go for a $ 50 tank top to a $ 200 sweater. I found that sometimes it was just more worth it to buy Free People on clearance at Loehmann’s than buying it for full price. Even working here with my discount wasn’t enough for me. I have maybe two sweater pieces that are still in perfect condition from when I purchased them full price 4 years ago… however I have to allow myself to wear them EVERYONCEIN A BLUEMOON or else they WILL fall apart. That’s not a good feeling especially when having to pay an arm and a leg for some of the sweaters. But don’t get me wrong… I love the designs and the concept Free People has. But the construction needs severe work.

This store is a such a gem. Free People is one of my favorite brands, so I could spend hours in here. The sales people are very friendly and helpful. The merchandise is laid out in such a way that it is easy to find and fun to look through. If you’re a floral person like me, this place feels like heaven. The fitting rooms are positively wonderful, with lots of space, soft carpeting, and pillows! I’m not a big spender, but I always shell out a bit more if it’s FP. I found a top I had been wanting for awhile in the sale section marked for $ 30, even though it was $ 20 on the website. They gladly marked it down and sold it to me for 20. I was delighted, especially since they gave me a beautiful reusable tote for free in place of a regular shopping bag. Will be back here again and again!

Who would ever thought that I, miss plain jane, would wear clothes by Free People? It’s a little pricey when not on sale, but there customer service was excellent. Another Free People store actually located the dress I purchased and had the Virginia store contact me. They were really friendly, didn’t charge for FedEx delivery and wrapped it in a fancy cloth bag. It may cost a pretty penny to my standards, but I think it was worth the money. I love my dress, I just have to figure out where to wear it.

Before Urban Outfitters became Urban Outfitters it was Free People. This location at Clarendon Commons is one of the relatively few Free People boutiques in the country(the first of which opened in 2002). Design fiends can scour the store for fun details like handmade fixtures and crocheted hangers. And the dressing rooms? Make sure to bring a pile of clothes when you go in as Free People’s have got to be the most wonderfully decorated dressing rooms I’ve ever set foot in. Textured carpets, cozy bench seating, colorful tapestries — bring a few friends and have a party in there! The sale rack in back is home to some bargains. As soon as I spotted the military green Twilight Empire Jacket there I had designs on making it mine. And oh how I adore it! If Urban Outfitters sometimes feels too sophomoric and Anthropologie a touch precious; Free People is just right.

Quite pricey, but lots of cool, unusual stuff. *Great* colors. Cute little coin purses and hair thingies. I feel guilty for paying extra $$, but then after wearing the item time and time again, guilt evaporates and satisfaction takes over. :)

I love, love, love their clothes! So cute and hippie-ish. Too bad it’s so freakin’ expensive and some of their pieces are too trendy for my taste. Browsing through the store is like taking a trip somewhere else. Everything is so floraly and pretty– I even love their hangers! Their dressing room is cool as well. They have shaggy carpetting, huge drawn curtains for each dressing room and a lot of details on the walls, comfy sofas. Very colorful.

Free People is one of those stores I can walk into and always find several items I must have, or else I will die immediately. That’s why I try not to go too often. I like the location of this store, and it’s a nice change from going to Urban all the time. I suppose this brand is linked to Urban because they sell FP in those stores, too. I stalk some clothing items online for months, waiting for them to go on sale. Last year I bought the most beautiful winter coat ever made in the entire world. I swear. Everyone who saw it agreed. They also have some pretty cute headbands and dresses. Some of their items are a bit too out there for me, but you can always find a solid mix of trends and classics.
