Why is it so hard to find a decent nail shop in Arlington? This place is not clean and I wish I had paid better attention to previous Unilocalers. First, she tried to use an old buffer on my nails. Second, my nails were not soaked in water… You know typical of any manicure you’re spending $ 30 on. Thirdl, my nails were uneven. Fourth, she didn’t have me wash my hands and instead used the nail brush (the same one dipped in the acetone) to clean underneath my nails. Fifth, I will never be back. Nail fungus waiting to happen!

I work down the street from this nail place and thought it would be a good idea to get a long overdue manicure. Lets just say ive paid less in other places and have been more impressed with the manicure.
My nails werent soaked, the lady went to removing cuticles immediately… the lady when paining the nail polish on missed a third of my nail… and i had to wait to get two nails repainted… steer clear… im really not impressed with the service.

Worst place ever ! I usually go to favorite nail salon but they were closed due to the snow so I had no other choice but to come here and get my nails done. I really wish my I would of never came ! My gel nail polish cracked off after 1 day and did a horrible sloppy job and had paint all over my hand because she was rushing so she can take her other clients then told me that the paint washes off my hands so I shouldn’t make a big deal. I told her please take your time and do a good job because It’s not cheap to get a gel pedi and mani every 2 weeks and she said «sweety $ 30 every 2 weeks is not that much «I felt so disrespected ! I’m a college student and a full time worker so yes that’s a lot for me and even if she painted nails for $ 5 I expect you to do a good job because that’s my hard earn money ! I mean anyone will expect that! worst place ever and don’t waste your money here !

I had the same people and did same thing first time no problem… so they said they’ll use razor and paraffin while the girl was already draining water and about to polish… manager claimed girl didn’t speak English when i heard them both speak English this time and last… did plain manicure because now I was not going to pay extra for gel after that FAIL they didn’t even put my hand in the little bowl with water smh and how can you mess up clear polish! No tip for you… bye bye

Bolo did a great pedi. So relaxing and they do a nice scrub on the legs and paraffin wax on your heels + hot stone on your feet all for $ 35. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere :-)

I used to go to this place often because of how convenient it is to my work place, until i found somewhere else a little further down but i feel like im treated nicer. i always get both gel manicure and pedicure when i go there and an older lady who does my pedicure ALWAYS takes time and do a very good job. until this other lady that’s suppose to do my gel comes along and rush everything through. The manicure lady is very rough, complains too much, and just always in a rush.
Last time i was there, i was the only customer on a friday at 5:30pm. the gel i had on took a while to come off and this same lady just kept yapping about it. like seriously though. if she would just let me soak my hands more than 30 seconds before trying to force the old color off, it would have been a better experience. I will most likely NOT go back. there’s other places around there that treat their customers a lot better than this place does.

I was the only one in the salon when I was getting my nails done so I thought they would spend a lot of time with me. The woman that did my pedicure took her time (the hot stones were a nice touch) and did a nice job but the woman doing my pedicure simultaneously rushed through the whole thing, did not make it a relaxing experience at all, and then asked for a tip after it was finished. When I go to a salon, I like to feel relaxed, but I felt uptight this entire experience. If you’re looking for a quick manicure, go to CoCo. If you’re looking to unwind and relax, not the place.

I am surprised to see all the great reviews — I wish I had never gone. I got a pedicure there today and my feet feel no different than before I went. The hot stone was nice, but pretty gimmicky — if you can’t buff off the dead skin, it’s not a good pedi. I was also a little taken aback that the operator asked for a tip.

The staff was friendly and there was good color selection. The salon is pretty small. The only (major) setback was that I had an appointment and I ended waiting 35 minutes before I was seated.

I usually switch between CoCo and a few other nail salons in the area, but CoCo is my favorite. They consistently do a great job, their staff is super friendly, and they don’t rush you through your service. I took my mom here for a regular mani/​pedi on a Friday afternoon. We got there around 2:30 and didn’t have to wait. Sunny was our nail technician and she was fantastic — really nice, offered up restaurant suggestions for my mom, and finished off our «spa day» with a great chair massage. It’s almost a week later an my nails haven’t even chipped. I’ll definitely be back!

Great gel manicure and pedicure. They are quick but also efficient. They use hot stones on your legs with water that feel fantastic. The owner is great and open to additional colors that you may want that they don’t have. They are great at keeping their appointments on track and are a great value in the area as far as price is concerned. Very clean and will be returning back in a few weeks when I need another gel manicure and pedicure.

I’ve been going here for a few months now since I moved into the upstairs condo building. This place is really quick, and the people who work there are really nice. For the most part I usually don’t have any complaints, and if there is something wrong they are quick to correct it! You can drop in or make an appointment. I dropped one star for a minor issue — most times, if the older lady does your mani/​pedi, she gives you a free shoulder massage while your nails are drying which is super! The others don’t seem to do it. I’m not sure if its a part of the experience or up to the person doing your nails, but it would be nice to have some consistency. Very small complaint though. Overall, I enjoy coming here!

4.5 years after my first review, I am sticking by the 5 stars! As someone else wrote, nail places are all over Arlington, but finding one that is clean, convenient, does a GREAT JOB and at a great price is a terrific find.
Just got a great pedicure (made an appointment for when they opened today, so for anyone who complains that they are «busy» when they just wander in, make an appointment!!!) for $ 29. I think that is their Summer special since it is usually $ 35, according to the price list on the wall.
They have a frequent guest card (I had thrown my old one away) and i have no idea how it works, although I did sign up again. And please, tip in cash and don’t complain about it since CoCo is not the only one who asks you to do this. It costs merchants 4−6% of your total charge in fees, so eventually that cost will just be passed on to you; just carry some $$ with you.
I wish I knew the name of the woman who took care of me today (nice older woman, glasses) because her neck massage was great.

This is a great nail salon. They’re open seven days a week, prices are attractive for the area, service is good, and I always leave with pretty nails. For a gel mani and a pedi today, the total was $ 58. The lady who did my pedi was very meticulous and they always impress me with their attention to detail. I got my mani done during my pedicure and it’s always nice talking to them.
I walk-​in almost every time and even when I have to wait, I’m comfortable in the massage pedi chair. Also, they prefer tips in cash. Otherwise, it’s a very nice and *clean* salon.

I’ve never left a Unilocal for a non-​restaurant, but I needed to for this place. I got a shellac manicure and it’s the worst one I’ve ever had. The UV light they put on it kept flickering out. I told the girl and she kept saying I wasn’t putting my hands in far enough. They were in ALL THE WAY and I kept tapping. NOTE: I get gel/​shellac manis every other week (depending on how long they last). She even asked if this was my first time, which was offensive bc it was definitely the uv light and not me. She finally ended up changing it bc it wouldn’t flicker on at all. I could see tons of spots the lady missed and I asked if she could fix them, because I knew it would peel off fast if she didn’t. She didn’t get the shellac close to my cuticles at all, so it already looked a week old. Needless to say, it DIDN’T EVEN LAST ONE DAY. I only went here bc my friend made the appt. for us. We will never be going back. Also, my friend wasn’t happy either bc she was supposed to get a mani and pedi and after the pedi they set her to dry and then completely forgot about her. She went home and painted her own nails. I do NOT recommend this place. Worth the wait to go elsewhere.

So they did a pretty good job! I get acrylic nails (fill ins). It wasn’t badly priced but for $ 35 I would’ve like to have a hand massage or something. The lady I go to normally charges $ 15 for a fill and she does a little massage too. That’s my only complaint, but they do look nice.

I like this nail salon. It’s simple but they do decent work. As of now they have a deal going on for 30 $ gel manicure which is a bit better than some of their competitors in Arlington who charge almost 50 $ just for gel manicure alone. When it was time for my pedicure, she never turned the jets on so my feet were just sitting in warm sparkly water. That changed when the manager came over and scolded her lol. The pedicure is basic but includes a hot towel and stone massage which is my favorite part. After that I was given a back massage without even asking while waiting for my gel nails to dry. Sure this place isn’t super pretty but like I said they do decent work.

Cute salon, got an appointment and they took me in at exactly my appointment time. I had the traditional manicure ($ 15 for cut, shape and buff, no polish) and the fabulous spa pedicure with paraffin treatment. I’d never done a paraffin treatment before and it was uh-​maze-​ing how soft my paws were for days afterward.
The girl was quick, efficient and very friendly. Prices were similar to what I pay at home for similar services. Nice if you’re going to be in the city for awhile and need basic services or want a little foot pampering after a long day of walking.

Nail salons are a dime a dozen in Arlington. What sets this one apart is that it doesn’t feel like a mani-​pedi factory. There is not a frenetically full salon with nail techs going as fast as they can to process customers. There is a bit more sense of calm. My tech gave me quite a thorough regular pedicure, but two things set it apart from other nail salons (1) hot stone massage to feet is included, it’s really amazing and relaxing, a nice touch and (2) your heels are soaked in hot wax while your nails are being painted. Their massage chairs are surprisingly strong. I felt my butt being lifted and shifted around. Their little pounding function was noticeable as well. Having some back pain, I was glad of these chairs! (Pedicure is $ 35)
Admittedly I was there at 7:30 p.m. and eager to go home after my nails were done, but was never offered the option of setting my nail polish under UV light which is common in many other salons. Instead the lady wrapped my nails in plastic and oil and I stuffed my feet back into socks/​shoes and headed home. I was delighted that there was absolutely no damage to my nails by the time I reached home (via walk, bike and metro).
The waxing room seems hygienic and calm. The lady who did my leg wax was nice and the experience was pleasant. I am not sure if I will go back for bikini as there was a sense that the door kept opening and shutting while she supervised others. That was slightly odd. Waxing should be a private experience.
There is a noticeable lack of SPA/​massage type music which I think would be a great addition to this salon.
I would just ding the business for mentioning my tip out loud in front of other customers (it was 10 percent and adequate in my opinion). It’s little gestures that keep customers coming back and when you try to shame customers into giving bigger tips, that is just a big turn off. Again service and atmosphere are very good, small adjustments maybe ideas for improvement. ;-)

3 stars for shellac manicure, 5 stars for regular pedicures. I think this place would be ok for shellac manicures if you aren’t harsh on your nails, and it’s definitely cheap by DC standards. ($ 29, and removal is free if you are getting them done again). This place is definitely great for pedicures.
The shellac manicure machines are the older, and just don’t work as well as the ones that the more-​expensive salons use. Or maybe my nails aren’t under the light enough. I just know that the nail polish isn’t as hard coated to my nails (does that make sense?), and they start chipping immediately. I am admittedly VERY harsh on my nails, so I don’t expect the color to last 2 weeks. I will straight from the salon to working on my bicycle. I usually get a day or two before chipping from this salon, where I get at least a week, and usually 10 days, from a salon in DC that charges $ 11 more. This last time around, all of my nails were seriously chipped within a week.
The pedicures are amazing though. Minnie does an awesome job, and she puts some shiny polish on after the nails dry.
