Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Six Flags

This was absolutely the worse experience I have ever had in a hotel in my life!
I have literally traveled the world. From 5 star to developing countries, and this was the most filthy and pest ridden place I have ever been in. There were roaches abs grasshoppers everywhere. I flew all the way from California to have a dream trip to attend a Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving game, and to but put in a room like that was disheartening.
I will never stay at this hotel or any hotel that has the name Econolodge. Both I and my wife left this hotel to seek out a suitable place to stay!
P. s. I wish i took pictures of the bugs, but I just wanted to get out of there. 3 hours was more than enough.

We booked one night here so we would be within walking distance to the stadium for a college football game this past weekend. We are very laid back and understood the place would be outdated which we weren’t concerned about. However, when we got to our room we had to shoulder the door open because the key wouldn’t work (a little scary how easy the door was to open even though it was «locked»). Turned out there were already people booked in that room. We went back to the lobby to find out at least three other groups had the same issue. The manager came out to address our concerns (btw, at this point no one was upset, we just wanted an empty room). The manager, not only escalated the situation by yelling at us «I am so sorry I have to come out here and deal with all of you!» but she told us to complain to the agency we booked our tickets with (we all booked directly with econolodge???) Her solution was to tell us to cancel our reservation and find somewhere else to stay. Well, all rooms were booked everywhere else. This was a big game, lots of people traveled form out of state/​town to attend. That was not an option. She then told us that we should come back in a few hours and she would see what she could do. Well, the game was starting in a few hours. We couldn’t come back in the middle of the game to confirm we had rooms. They would not hold anyone’s bags, so we had to risk leaving everything in the car. When we got back to the hotel around midnight they had a room for us… dirty, hadn’t been cleaned but at least we had somewhere to sleep until we left town in the morning. It was a smaller room than what we had already pre-​paid for… when I asked the manager to refund the difference she refused and again threatened to cancel the reservation completely if we didn’t agree to the smaller room. By far the worst hotel we have every stayed in.

We have stayed at several Choice Hotels around the country. This Econolodge has to be the worst in their chain.
We check in, the assign a room… we go to the assigned room and there are guests staying in that same room. Then they up grade us to a double queen with mini-​kitchen and that AC is not working, the stove has aluminum foil under the burners and the couch is dirty and sagging. They then give us a third room…,.walls are dirty bathroom faucet is missing knob, ceiling above shower has mold, microwave has chipped paint, coffee pot is missing, AC unit is from the late 60s and television in the other too does not work.
Do not recommend the Econolodge at all, not worth the headache and complaining.
STAY. AWAY from this place!!!

This is the first review I have ever left. I’m not one to complain about services– but it is my mission to warn you of this place and hopefully you do not make the mistake of staying here.
I stayed at this «hotel» for the New Years. I was in town for a college football game at the nearby Dallas Cowboys stadium. With few hotel options close to the stadium, my cousin and I (both mid 20s) stayed here. For the cheap rate, I knew that this would not be a 5-​star hotel. However, the cheap rate is an absolute rip off for the place that we stayed at.
Every morning of our stay (3) the police were at the hotel breaking up fights of some sort. The furniture was absolutely disgusting and I refused to even sit on the couch. I slept in my clothes on top of the bed. The stove had tin foil around all of the burners? It looked like a meth lab.
For the game, the hotel offered a $ 5 shuttle to the stadium. Convenient. We called and were told they would take us on an 8:30am shuttle. Get down to the lobby, double check that the 8:30 shuttle is happening, and pay our $ 5 dollars. 8:30 shuttle never comes. Have to wait for 9 o clock shuttle which was also late.
Upon departing the hotel, we were in such a rush to get out of the place that we left our winter coats there. Called the hotel that night, and of course they have to check with housekeeping in the morning and take my number to get back to me. Never received a call back. Over 300 dollars worth of winter clothing gone.
Please, don’t make the mistake of staying here.

I’ve never paid for a place this bad, I’ve camped in a tent, slept on ground, but I’m tired and need a nap, this room hopefully doesn’t collapse during night from water leak in bathroom dripping from upstairs into one of toilets. Refrigerator has been repainted with a can, stove is from 70’s at the earliest, carpet is at least 30 years old. Please do not do like we did, save your money, drive any where but do NOT stay here.

I am a pretty laid back person & would say pretty realistic about my expectations regarding hotel stay. But for $ 70 a night (after tax) this place is NOT worth it. The rooms are very outdated with stained & holey furniture, the TV’S are the old bulky tube style & ours would turn off every time we changed the channel. I am not a snooty person, but functioning appliances would be nice. There was a cigarette hole in the extra blanket (this was a NON smoking room) mildew stains in the bathroom both on the ceiling & next to the tub, and there was an actual hole in the tub… covered with white sticky plastic that was coming up to reveal it. (I took pictures for corporate). We had a toddler in tow & I wouldn’t have bathed him in there regardless after seeing the conditions, but I couldn’t have even if I wanted to bc of the hole. There were 2 small roaches spotted in the bathroom also & I actually joked to my husband that we actually found a real life roach motel… lol. And my toddlers feet remained concernably filthy in the short time he spent walking on the carpeted floor. No telling how long it’s been since they’ve been properly cleaned. I shutter at the thought.
The AC made the room smell musty when run all night & overall we couldn’t wait to check out in the morning. The free breakfast wasn’t half bad (basics like muffins & one waffle maker) but the breakfast room was hot & crowded. Not near enough food for everyone. I did speak to the guy on duty about the room conditions upon check out & the only thing he asked was why I didnt call the front desk & let them know, so they could have found another room for us & I told him it was bc I heard him tell another customer they were sold out when we were checking in. He stated that he had a room available if I would have let him know. And that he would have the manager contact me. But regardless, with the condition of our rooms bathroom alone, I’m not even sure why they made it available to be occupied? It needs alot of work… the bathtub won’t/can’t even hold water! I’ve called twice now 2 weeks since being home to speak with the «manager» and he’s apparently never there. I have yet to hear back.
Oh & the free shuttle they offer does NOT run on Sunday, but luckily the trolley did. Overall, the only thing nice about this place was the lobby, the view of the Cowboys stadium & the trolley ride to six flags to avoid parking there. I don’t recommend sleeping at this hotel at all.

We stayed here for one night to get away. I have a 10 & 11 year old so the king suite with two queen beds and a living room with a small pull out couch came in handy. It has two old school TVs and one bathroom. Not a new hotel but it was ok for the price. The breakfast consisted of breads, cereal, and waffles that came out looking like they sat in milk. Our sheets looked either stained or that they had not been washed. They give you two pillows per bed but they are very small and the beds are thin mattresses. The main thing that irritated me was that my husband was sick and we wanted a late check out to fit the timing of going to a doctor. I requested the two o’clock late check out that choice privileges members can do. The latest was 1 o’clock that they would allow us to stay. During the meantime we had the front office call to see if we were doing a late check out and 2 housekeeping people came and knocked and knocked and knocked to see if we were doing a late check out. Needless to say the «do not disturb» sign was on the door and my husband kept being woke up. A little communication needed with their employees. Otherwise staff was friendly.

I was apprehensive about staying in this motel based on the various reviews I had read. Regardless of those, my stay was not horrific. Yes it is old and a little run down. There are stains on the carpet and there are no flat screen tvs, just the old school tube ones. The only thing I could sum up about my stay was that it was adequate. It’s cheap and it is exactly what you would pay for. If you have more money to spend, I recommend staying somewhere else. I do not know if there is extended stay offered there, but there were BBQ pits on the backside rooms and chairs out next to the room doors. It was a little shady and seedy along with some of the individuals walking around the motel. As a female, I didn’t exactly feel as safe as I have in other places. I won’t be staying again, but if you need a cheap place and are willing to forgo quality, then this is your place.
