Mimi Day Spa

Giving this place a one star is being super nice.
They are very friendly there but that all changes when your gel nails start to fall off in only a week’s time. Five of my nails had fallen off a week after a gel manicure. When I went back to get them fixed, the friendly staff that they were the first time was not something I experienced.
This is the not the first time I have gone there and my gel nails didn’t last. Just thought I would check it out and see if that was a one time thing or not.
Either they don’t know how to do gel, or they are putting something in their polish to thin it out. Unless you want to waste your money on a gel manicure, don’t go there.
Pedicures are great though.

I had a pretty terrible manicure here. Two stars for it being clean and the guy running the place tries very hard to make you comfortable. I had to ask the women to file my nails three separate times, even then they were not shaped at all and all looked different. I won’t be coming back.

This will b the only place I get a pedi-​mani!!! Before I go to Vegas, I’ll b back for a full body massage!!! Bet that!

This place is amazing! I was getting my car serviced near by and so I stopped in. It also happened to be my best friends birthday! It was great we got pedicures and manicures and complimentary cake with a candle! It was such a nice gesture! Our nails look amazing and the prices were very reasonable! I would def recommend this place!

Great experience at Mimi’s. Michelle did a wonderful job with my eyebrows and suggested a layer of glitter over my gel mani for the holidays. I love it!

Perfect every time! Everyone is so nice, you’re greeted with a warm and smiling face and the door is opened for you when you leave. The little things make all the difference!

I love Mimi’s Nail Salon and I always have a great experience here. My technician, Kimmie is great and always takes her time and does my nails exactly how I like! Everyone here is very polite and they always offer tea/​water when you come in. Very relaxing!

I hardly write reviews but I was so amazed with the customer service here that I had to! Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. I finished my gel manicure before my friends since they also had pedicures and I was constantly checked up on and offered drinks and comfy seating. Will be back! :)

I got a manicure here for the first time today and had the best manicurist ever, Kathy (?). She offered the paraffin treatment because she said my hands were dry and it’s good for keeping moisture in, and my hands were indeed dry, so I appreciated it. She was chatty but explained everything she was doing and it was actually kind of pleasant. I also got a lip and eyebrow wax, both of which went smoothly. She was professional yet friendly and I will definitely be asking for her every time I go. I was kind of pissed that it seems like only people getting pedicures get wine, and though it is incentive for me to go back, it wasn’t explicitly written anywhere and when I asked twice I got super vague answers which threw me off a little. Other than that, it was spacious and had a nice atmosphere, and I will likely be back for a pedi and a glass of wine or two ;)

Went for a gel mani.
1. Most glaring issue — TOOLS WERE NOT STERILIZED. They came from a sterilization pouch, but had not been processed. If you choose to go here, ask to see the package first. There are two color change strips on the package that will change color only if proper sterilization has been completed. There is a sentence next to each of these strips indicating what color it should be if it has been properly sterilized, so it’s pretty easy to check. Three stars off immediately.
2. They don’t paint all the way to the cuticle. The gap left looked like at least 4 – 5 days of growth, immediately after they were done. Bye bye, one more star.
3. The idea of offering wine is a great one. For me, though, the white wine was incredibly sweet, almost like a dessert wine. Not a star markdown item for me, but just not my taste.

I really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere at Mimi’s. I was immediately greeted and welcomed and it was easy for me to walk-​in and get a rose and lemongrass spa pedicure.
My pedicure lady Mimi was so nice and polite. She offered me a robe when she saw that I came in with skinny jeans and I think she was thoughtful and attentive.
I was able to come, relax to the gentle piano music and get a mini-​vacation. Thanks Mimi’s!

I have been here several times and there are a few great things about Mimi Day Spa:
1) Awesome customer service (from the owners)
2) Very clean and spacious
3) By the metro (and Starbucks)
I typically like to come here because of the service and convenience. However, my last two visits have been subpar. My pedicures have been decent so far. The biggest disappointment is the gel manicure. Both times now, I had someone who would quite literally paint polish onto my skin and not clean it – I would have to ask for her to wipe it away (after waiting a few minutes) and then receive a not-​so-​pleasant look. I had bubbles and the gel polish — something I would point out but only received a nod. The gel polish would peel just a few days later because it would start lifting from the edges. Not to mention, during my last visit, the lady took out her phone and started watching music videos with her headphones in while she waited for my nails to finish under the UV light. I’m sorry you couldn’t wait 60 seconds…

I have never been and looked it up near my job. I walked in and was immediately greater by the reception man who was extremely nice and warm. I waited about 6 min for my turn. I then sat in the seat for my Pedicure for over an hour. The lady was very good and took her time. My feet feel awesome. Champagne and bottled water was served. I felt like a queen. Same deal for the gel mani. I will def be going back. Currently had specials on a sidewalk board.

I’ve been here a few times, and it’s by far my favorite place in Arlington to get my nails done! When you walk in, you’re warmly greeted by someone at the front desk area. It’s still a relatively new place, and the décor reflects that — everything inside looks pretty new, modern, and most importantly, clean. They have a good color selection, although I tend to bring my own polish. I’ve gotten regular mani/​pedis, gel manis, and the herbal pedicure (my favorite being the mint) and have had multiple technicians. Everyone has been super nice and I’ve always been happy with the result.
In short — nice, clean nail salon! Definitely recommended!

I’m currently in the middle of my pedicure here and had to pause and write this review because of how bad it has been. The tech has no idea what she is doing. 45 mins in she had not even begun my painting nails yet. She spent around 20 minutes digging at my cuticles with scissors, could not communicate what was going on, and the whole thing has been uncomfortable. At one point she sprayed my toes with alcohol (??) which stung where she evidently cut me with the scissors. Even if I walk out of here with beautiful toes (I highly doubt it at this point) I will never be back. This has been a very uncomfortable experience.
Update: nails look awful. She slapped paint on like she was painting a house. And I came to find she did a «spa pedicure» which is $ 10 more and apparently only consists of a sea salt scrub. I asked her explicitly if that was extra and she said no. Surprise, it was.
Update 2: the tech cut the edge of my big toenail so deep that it’s very painful today and even starting to bleed/​ooze. Overall a very upsetting experience and I’m really hoping I don’t get an infection or an ingrown nail out of this.

Wow what a great experience. This was my first pedi. My girlfrriend had mentioned how much she likes the place, so when my good friend Rob offered to buy me my first pedi, I had to say yes. As soon as we walked in, they were very welcoming, gave us some water and some really good coffee. We had Francine, Michelle, and also Mimi talked to us for a while. Super friendly people who kept us laughing the whole time. Very reasonably priced for a great service. I’ll be back.

Mimi’s is the best!!! You MUST get the Herbal Spa Pedicure, it is divine. You select the scent of herbal spa you’d like, I chose the Mango Mandarin and it smelled incredible. Mimi did an amazing job and my toes look killer! She took her time and didn’t make me feel rushed like other salons.
I also got the Gel mani and it’s a week later and it looks brand new. Will DEFINITELY go back

I think this is my new favorite nail salon, so I’m so sad to be moving! I admit, half the reason we went was for the drinks… however, I think something is up with their liquor license, because they weren’t able to give us any drinks, and when we asked they said something about papers. However, this didn’t end up diminishing the experience. They gave us delicious hot tea and some chocolate instead and we were still happy! The service was wonderful– everyone was very friendly and the owner checked on us several times. Getting two last minute appointments was incredibly easy also.
We both got the spa pedicure, and it was sooooo relaxing. The quality of service was great, and my polish stayed on for weeks. It was a high end nail salon experience without the high end prices, and the location is so convenient! I would love to go back, and might even consider making the trek back after I move because it was so relaxing.

One of my favorite nail salons is located in Dupont where they serve you drinks while you got pampered and it was the best time for my girlfriends and I. Needless to say, it was a PLEASANT surprise that Mimi Day Spa did the same thing and it is right next door to me! Finally!
I’ve gotten a manicure and pedicure done here and I am impressed by their work. They are very diligent while they work and they are extremely friendly. They also have an enormous selection of colors to choose from that I’m sure you’ll find the one you are looking for. I can say that they have gained a regular customer here!

If you’re looking for a top notch nail salon this is the place to come. Everyone is extremely nice & the place is really clean. Be ready to relax when you arrive! If you’re a little tense maybe a glass of wine or champagne will help, bcz that’s what they are serving.
The quality of work is amazing. I’ve gotten a pedicure and polish change and was pleased with both. I will definitely be back!
