Philip Gentry, DDS

Dr. Philip Gentry’s office was able to fit me in for an appointment (due to a cancellation) as a new patient the same week that I first called. Dr. Gentry was very professional, knowledgeable, and even stayed late at the office on a weeknight to finish off my fillings so I didn’t have to make another appointment and miss more work. Five stars!

Dr. Gentry is the best dentist! I’ve been going regularly for over five years — even when I lived in Oklahoma and now that I live in Maryland. I’ve had to have fillings and a crown, and I wouldn’t want anyone else working on me. He’s great with my three year old, too.
And the entire staff is wonderful — whether they’re cleaning your teeth or getting you a receipt for your FSA.

I have been going to Dr. Gentry for ten years, as has my wife. I’ve even passed along his information to other family and friends who would echo what I’m about to say. We’ve tried different dentists since moving away from Arlington, but always with some problems and now am with Dr. Gentry no matter how far away we move. For those that are scared of busy Arlington/​Courthouse there is always free parking on the side street there, a definite rarity for the area.
He has fixed a root canal that was messed up, fixed countless cavities, and done a great job on normal cleanings. His staff is always very friendly, whether it be be very experienced/​knowledgeable hygienists, to the front desk who are always on top of appointments and insurance. He is busy but always finds a way to fit you in. In fact, he recently pushed his lunch off to fill a quick small cavity rather than schedule that found cavity during a cleaning.
He does a great job with pain management during any procedures as well. If you need other help in the form of endodentists or oral surgeons he works well with them and knows the best. I know it sounds like I’ve had lots of problems but that is my sweet tooth. He does everything he can! My wife never has cavities and he handles her perfectly as well. Remembers everyone’s kids and jobs and couldn’t be any more friendly. Gentry for life for my family!

Dr. Gentry is the BEST DENTIST! I have been going to Dr. Philip Gentry for as long as I can remember. The front desk is very nice and the receptionist called to confirm the appointment time before hand. I’ve never had to wait for a long time since once you get there, you go right in when it’s your time. The dental hygienist’s work is very detailed and they make sure that you’re good to go. Dr. Gentry’s dental work is amazing. I just chipped the top of my bottom tooth and a little of my front tooth. He fixed it immediately and made it look like nothing every happened! The dental work was so good that you can’t even tell! Dr. Gentry’s assistant, Juana, is very professional and detailed as well. Another time I was dying from pain generated from the wisdom teeth. There were many cuts in my mouth and immediately he took care of it and gave me a prescription to make sure it wouldn’t get infected. Dr. Gentry is also an incredibly nice, warm-​hearted, caring Doctor. I would definitely recommend Dr. Gentry for anyone living in the Washington DC metro/​Northern Virginia area!

Dr. Gentry is wonderful! He makes you feel comfortable right away. I got to my appointment a few minutes early and was taken back right away. The entire staff remembers their patients, I was greeted by all the staff with a smile and was asked how my children were doing. They even obliged and looked at the latest school pics. I had my cleaning and an old filling had seen it’s day. Rather than making me come back another day, they had an opening in their schedule and dealt with it right away. No pain! A wonderful experience from start to finish. Can’t recommend Dr. Gentry and his staff high enough!!!

I like Dr. Gentry. He is a lot like the small-​town dentists from my hometown. His office is bright but not imposingly modern and clinical. His assistants are wonderful. And who doesn’t want to watch Food Network while having their teeth cleaned?
Dr. Gentry is also reliable. I was scared on the day when I handed over $ 550 for a dental procedure I didn’t have pre-​approved. While Dr. Gentry’s staff would not process the paperwork for this particular in-​network procedure, his staff was nothing but professional in assisting me and refunding me after I figured out things with the insurance company!
