History

Established in 2011.

As the Branch Manager of Fairway, I have accumulated nearly 21 years of mortgage lending experience, so I’ve worked with about every lending scenario that you could imagine. I joined Fairway Independent Mortgage in June of 2011 & I couldn’t be happier with that decision.

Fairway is a large, national lender, closing loans with our own money (we’re not mortgage brokers… ask me why this is important !), but the company allows and encourages every branch to maintain a local identity and connection to our community. Try finding that at the big banks!

I’m originally from Pennsylvania, but I began my mortgage career in the Atlanta market over 21 years ago. I’ve been fortunate to call Asheville, «home» for nearly 14 years now, so I know the area well and I’m blessed to have so many great friends here.

In my mortgage career, I’ve seen just about every scenario that you can imagine, but I really do enjoy working with self-​employed borrowers as well as those relocating to Asheville.

Mortgage lending has changed so much over the last few years and now, more than ever, you need a creative mortgage professional at the helm. My rates are the most competitive in town and I know that matters. But equally important, our clients and their real estate agents all say that our service and communication levels are the best they’ve found anywhere. My experience with David was exactly what I had hoped for. Never did I feel unsure, reluctant, or overwhelmed. On the contrary, financing my home with David was as simple as the process could allow.
Although I had never bought a house before, I felt confident from the first meeting that I had chosen the right mortgage lender in David.
Communicating with David and his team throughout the process was a pleasure. He was clear, concise, and quick — you could even say dogged.

These guys are great! I am self employed and tried to get a loan at Suntrust on Town Mountain Road with Janie and she was awful, incompetent, never returned calls and wasted 2 months of my time. So based on these reviews I head over to see David and his team, in about 15 minutes he got me preapproved and 30 days later I am in a new home. I cant say enough good stuff about these guys, they made buying a home super easy, promptly returned emails and they even gave out their cell #‘s to me. These guys know customer service and appreciated the business.

David found several options that were not mentioned AT ALL by the mortgage guy my realtor suggested. Right off the bat, during out first phone call, he took the time to figure out my situation and think outside the box to find the best option for my financial scenario. That was enough for me to fire the realtor suggestion and hire Fairway. Who wants a mortgage guy who is half asleep and just checking off boxes? Not me. David took my situation and looked at it like a puzzle, figuring out the best pieces to fit to my financial advantage.
His team working in the background also were very responsive, polite, and timely in getting their documents completed.
I will definitely work with them again if I buy another house.

We love working with David and all the folks at Fairway… so much so that we’ve done it 3 times in the last 10 years! They are professional and pleasant to work with. If you need to refi. or are buying or selling property, you would be wise to use Fairway… much easier and personal than dealing with any of the big banks. (I’ve worked with Wells Fargo and Bank of America prior to knowing about Fairway and I would never deal with them again)
