History
Established in 1986.
In the early 80’s Tom Freeman began recording the band he was in through an 8 channel mixer to a cassette deck. He found it challenging, fun and rewarding. Soon the cassette deck wasn’t enough and by 1986 Tom upgraded to an Otari ½ inch 8trk and ¼ inch 2trk mastering machine and opened the doors for business at it’s present location. Freeman Sound Studio went digital in the 90’s but still maintains those analog machines for the occasional need. The focus over the years has been recording music from solo musicians, bands, theater production, to The Eugene Opera as well as voice work for radio, television, video and film. Freeman Sound Studio is currently in the process of an expansion and equipment upgrade with a completion date projected by Dec. 2011. We are looking forward to the new set up that will include 4 isolation rooms as well as an expanded control room. The current rooms are still up and running and we’re presently servicing clients.
