Went in midday for a bottle of Riesling. The front desk guy was on the phone so I just browsed til he finished. He showed me where the Riesling is, which only a few bottles by the stockroom. I picked one states $ 7.99 since I got another one from adage right before. When the receipt came out it was $ 10.88. I asked if it’s the price I saw on the shelf, the guy said its $ 9.99. I turned to look at the price label again and didn’t think it changed and after I picked it up. Kept my mouth shut and left with the bottle. The bottle tasted fine. Not with the mislabeling though. I don’t mind to pay more but not cool when it’s not posted correctly. The guy didn’t seem wanted to acknowledge me when I entered the store nor leaving. Guess I won’t be back.

Alingan is definitely one of the smalles tliquor stores i’ve ever seen. From the time you walkin you can see all that this pace has to offer. Even with it’s size they seem to have everything you could want. I’ve been here numerous times and have always been able to get what I wanted. The guy who’s usually behind the counter is very nice and if you’re a regular he usually makes small talk with you.

If you need some wine in a jiffy, Alingan Wines and Liquors will serve. They have some good wines under $ 18 if you do some research or know what you are looking for. Price wise, if the wine is market priced between X-Z then you will be seeing Z on the price tag. That is, perhaps, the cost of convenience.

I don’t know much about wine so when I entered the store looking for some Moscato the guy was very helpful. So helpful that I bought 3 bottles, LOL. I went during thanksgiving week so there were many promotions and with that said I spent less than $ 50 for all 3 bottles.

Friendly staff, but poor selection and high prices.

Loss of one star for either a little girlfriend of the mute employees or an actual employee posing as a foul mouthed little punk harassing me on Unilocal. Almost got caught with the price issue. Was told something was $ 30 but the shelf said $ 22. Staff wasn’t very interested in being friendly. I’m new to the hood and have to pass this shop 2x a day. Lack of enthusiasm over my patronage will quickly cause me to go out of my way for another store. I went in a second time to get a cheap bottle of white for a recipe. I was shown nothing under 15 until i was leaving empty handed. Ah there is the $ 4.99 bottle I was looking for. I find it odd there’s a sign in the door asking customers to call the owner with any complaints. Guess this is a standard problem for the store. And you wont get any nice warm and fuzzy wine advice here. Ehh. Disappointing.

Definitely be careful with matching prices, they seem to bump it up a few dollars. Just call em out on it, watch them do the surprised walk over to the price on the shelf and then they give you the right price. They really have some great specials though, just go in every so often and check if you need something for your bar.

Twice now I’ve gone here, and either their price tags(on the shelves) or the price they’ve quoted me has been wrong, and not in my favor. I bought two bottles of wine with no tags, I was told they were both less than $ 13, and when I was rung out, my total was over $ 30…and all he had to say was«oh well»…here’s one star… oh well.

Alingan is probably the smallest Wine and Liquor store I’ve ever been inside of. Given the size of the place they seem to have a decent selection of all the typical products at regular prices and they stay open to 11pm or 12am everyday. For what they lack in layout and elbow room they certainly complement with unknowledgeable and ridiculously bad customer service. The first time I went the young middle eastern guy was yelling at someone on the phone while doing transactions. The second time I was there the same guy bent down by the register as I approached and started clipping his toenails. After taking payment and before I turned to leave he sat back down and continued(onto the sales floor). When I left and waited outside for my co-worker(who’s like 30 years older than me and just as straight), the clerk asked if I was his boyfriend. If I didn’t know any better I would think I was either on some sort of hidden camera show or this guy was seeing how far he could push it and still not be out of a job. I’m really glad this idiot was running the place because it was so bad it was funny, I’ve got a reason not to write another boring 4 star review on Unilocal, and I’ve got an amusing story to tell people. Go if you must, but avoid if you can.
